Tim was one of the first authors that got me into extreme horror. Brutal and gory, this book had a great story line with some touchy subjects based on real life situations .. or are they? On to the next one!

Crazy concept, perfect horror
Tim Miller already knows how to gross us out in infinite ways and entertain us until we cannot sleep through the night due to flashes of what we've read keeping us up. Now, though, Tim messes with our psyches by delivering this wonderfully frightening tale of something so simple yet involving so many feelings & consequences. Bullies, depression, unhealthy habits & more cause some people to want to end it all or try to get revenge. Never wanting to give anything away, I'll just say that this is a different and very interesting side of Miller. And the sneak peek of the next Country Club looks epic as well. Most highly recommend this to all fans of modern horror!

Besides Miller's customary gore-fest, Suicide Hotline is also a deeply felt social commentary and a conspiracists wet dream! Five stars for not only making me watch initial reports more closely for signs of multiple gunmen in black fatigues, but also for the author having the cojones to publish this during such turbulent times. This is not a story for the sheep; this is a story for the fact-seekers, the truth-junkies, and the intelligent. It's also really, really sad, violent, and terrifying. I loved it!

This book was incredibly great! It takes you on a journey with people who are or think they have it tough. The Suicide Hotline will make you famous while you get killed.

There is also a sneak peek at The Country Club: Ladies Night, and I can't wait to read that now, too!! Please don't think less of me for this, but... I haven't read The Country Club yet ::hangs head in shame:: but it's been on my TBR for quite a while. NOW I'm dying to get started - I hope Tim goes into more depth re: Mr. Black - the man he was, the man he's become, (and his father's impact on that).
THOSE stories are going to have to wait just a bit longer though, because I'm 2/3 finished with the APRIL ALMIGHTY SERIES, and hope to finish it tonight. I have pages of notes for the first two stories already, (be prepared Mr. Miller... I have some questions for you from all three stories/series!).

I'm hooked.
I blazed through this book. Tim Miller is one of my new favorite writers. Once again I connected with these characters, even the monsters.

Aaaand now for something TOTALLY different from our resident shocker, Tim 'The Mad Hatter' Miller. You won't find any sadistic pestilent clowns, super power clad women, acid tripping fairy tales, or inbred redneck rapey bastards in this one.
Shows just how versatile the guy actually is. And where I do actually LOVE his outlandish, absurd, campy, sadistic sex filled stories, like, ALOT....I really really enjoyed this one just as much, let's call it the softer side of Mr. Miller.
Well, it's still badass, gruesome, gory, extreme, graphic, shocking: just pick your adjective.....just no homicidal horny clowns.
Yea, this is about as soft core as it gets with him. Lol
I just wrote a Miller review the other day for Clown Apocalypse and now I'm back for this, Suicide Hotline and that just goes to show how much I admire and adore the guy, he's a fantastic writer with an endless supply of entertaining and badass stories.
Plus he's got that whole nice guy heart of pure golden filth thing going for him too, which is fanfuckintastic!! :D
So, the Suicide Hotline is kind of something you might hear about on an underground blog or vlog (...yeeeea, I really don't know the difference...) post, never main stream media, tooo visceral and harcore for FOX or CNN, besides it would take away from the political propaganda and hate spewing fire feeding acts of war and fake fluff pieces that already over-saturate the normal news programs.
Aaaand besides, how they can report on what they haven't been pocketed to lean towards....
We meet a series of people each garnering their own chapter, let's call them little vignettes.
These people are tired in life, tired in work, sick to death of their surroundings and getting treated like shit......they uncover through indepth exploring or ominous whispering word of mouth ~ THE DARK WEB.
A place I will NEVER seek a venture or look- see in. You see, these people all want to commit suicide, but just can't go through with it themselves and how boring and uneventful that would be anyway.....they wanna take a few assholes down with them, but again, cannot do such deplorable acts themselves.
Signing an online form, people like; a home daycare provider, a friendless college flunky, a pushed around janitor, a seedy mayor, and a worn out bullied teen sealed their fate as well as the fate of some of their side thorns.
They eventually meet a Mr. Black, who explains ~ ever so discreetly, the process.
The 'Customer' will get all the credit as the lone shooter/killer before the suicide hotline disposes of them.
And extra casualties of whatever gender, race, religion.....age, are just token for 'THE DARK WEB' clean up/clean out crew. They really don't care.
So, you wanna die, yet also become infamous and take down a few enemies....then visit www.da ~ errr......no, I better not....
Who knows how many causality or who cares lists I could end up on...EEECK! hahaha
You will also get a bit of backstory on the elusive Mr Black, I was waiting and hoping for that and knowing Mr. Miller's work like I do....I knew he would not disappoint me there!!! He hasn't yet.
Such excitement and glee when I discovered a tie in to a super popular fan favorite of Tim 'The Mad Hatter' Miller other books in this !!! Again, I LOVE it when my favorite authors tie (have) their shit together.
This crazy as a loon mad cap writer is a favorite of many!!
I can't wait to see what else my favorite crazy ass writer has in store for us!! Every time I check, he seems to be working on like, 5 at a time. He is obviously part machine and churns them out faster than any other I've noticed.... he cooould always speed it up a little more though, I think.....yeeea....
I just love getting lost in his unsound mind, have a hard time finding my way out usually but it's always worth it!

Ever wonder why those people in the news who "snap" and take out others with them get to that point? Not too sure if they truly acted alone? Did they have help? This book is a small anthology of those people who decide to go to the "Suicide Hotline"- an online service that helps those looking to take out their revenge on those who wronged them - with planned staged events with "professionals" who agree to let those people who agree to the terms to go out with a bang.
The politician who knows he's about to go down for multiple offenses (not the least of which is pedophilia) gets the opportunity to exact torturous revenge to both his rival and his wife
The bullied kid who gets the opportunity to get revenge on the one who bullied him the most.
The overworked and belittled janitor who has nothing to live for gets to go on a shooting spree making sure the boss who was his main source of grief got his due.
This book ties in to the "Country Club" series as this is a bit of an outside of the arc but containing main characters of the other series.
Sick and twisted, definitly not suitable for kids and just good pulpy fun.

Not for the Faint of Heart!
This is not my first Tim Miller story, nor will it be my last. As Mr. Miller points out in the beginning. It's his goal to entertain, repulse and horrify us.
Has he achieved his goal?
Yes, he has horrified and repulsed me on more than one occasion. I keep coming back for more.
My thoughts on Suicide Hotline...
Wow! What a Concept!!
Well written, easy to follow, fast-paced, picturesque, and a wonderfully narrated audiobook. Certain parts of this story messed with me a bit, that is just a side effect of the horror genre.
The format of this book is a bit different than his other ones I have read/listened to. It's like a bunch of short stories combined into one book and I truly enjoyed the difference.
The narrator did an excellent job of portraying the different characters, I had no problems telling them apart. A true art form in itself. Great job Vincent Lane.
I was gifted an e-copy of this book by the author in exchange for an honest review. No renumeration was involved.

This is a collection of mini stories linked with an overall story. It is a unique concept and begins immediately by entering a place that most of us don’t even know exists let alone find the courage to explore. The book begins on a dark note and continues on that theme but it is also surprisingly upbeat. Miller doesn’t dwell on the darkness by insinuating what’s out there and he doesn’t embellish it with regular horror jargon, he simply tells the story in a simple factual way. This allows the reader to be entertained while also being shocked, stunned, and sickened to the perfect degree.
I particularly liked the way Miller builds levels of frustration within his characters and identifying with their problems makes their Suicide Hotline solution all the more horrifying. I recommend this book to anyone with a sense of humour, love of horror, and the ability to enjoy textual gore but if you’re really hard-core, then grab the audio version.

Excellent idea, I enjoyed it, but I would have liked more development in the stories, and more stories. For example, at the end, Mr. Black's history is recounted. Also, why are some clients not allowed to participate while others are allowed?

What a book
Wow!!! I am impressed every time I think Tim Miller can't shock me he does so... kudos for that my friend. He writes one he'll of a story that kind of connects the country club series. But wow I highly recommend this book to all fan's of modern horror!!!!!!!!!!!

Loved it!
I loved this book and this series. I can't put them down. I took the day off if work to just read them all. They really are a page turner.

Masterful
A great collection of short stories that tie into a larger narrative. Plenty of gore and humor throughout. Probably my favorite Tim Miller book yet. HIGHLY recommended.

Still sold on the series, but this entry was exceptionally good. Really clever idea to explain our ever growing number of mass shootings.
