Lady has been approached by Doyle and has been informed that he is calling in a favor that she owes him. Lady is kind of nervous--and who can blame her--Doyle is not exactly the nicest person around! And to make matters worse Mrs. Poole, her mentor, employer and landlady seems to think she should do it. It seems that someone has died without "paying up". Doyle is not pleased!!
Although she is not supposed to get her friends involved she does get Dom to help her. As they proceed to try and solve the mystery of who murdered Doyle's "client"--all is not as it appears. Horace, one of Lady's bothersome and trouble making brothers, somewhat gets involved and makes matters worse for Lady!!
There are some twists and turns in this one--including one that concerns Lady and Dom!! This will keep you reading--and there is a kind of cliffhanger ending--but I am sure it will get resolved in the next in this series!!

Lady is relaxing at the inn when Doyle calls in the favor she owes him. Lady has to look into the murder of on of his clients. Lady is supposed to look into it herself. She finds one of Dom's sigils near the site of the crime.
Lady and Dom start looking into the crime together. They have several suspects that could have done the crime. One of victims children is forcing her way into the investigation. The victims wife has not been in good health for awhile. Lady and Dom will also admit a secret that the each has been hiding.
Lady and Dom will have their work cut out for them. They will have to determine who would benefit from killing and why. Lady and Dom will also have to figure out things as well. Can't wait to read the next one. I really like the chemistry with Lady and Dom.

While enjoying some needed downtime Lady is approached by Doyle. He claims she owes him a favor and wants her to get some information on a recent murder. Seems the man was murdered before paying Doyle back on a "debt" he owed. She is supposed to try on her own but of course she gets Dom to help. We are given new characters and new insights into Dark Lake. I enjoyed the new turn and do hope it continues. The new characters were very interesting. The regulars were not in much but it worked out great. Hope they show up more. Someone murdered Doyle's client - Quincey Lordes before he could pay back a 'favor' to Doyle. Now Lady has to find out who killed Doyle so Doyle can get what he feels is due to him. Doyle doesn't want the police involved- "It would complicate things." But when Lady goes to Quincey's house the police are already there! Can she keep what she knows away from the police? What about Mrs. Poole? Lady has to get help from her one of her friends and she and he discover things she really didn't want to admit to. A surprise twist to this latest story. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

Idea
In the next book it would be great if Dom and Lady went into P.I. work. Com can do security while Lady did investigation work. It would take a lot of pressure off Dinners job with those worthless deputies I mean Barney Phife could of done better than them. Now Lady has her laptop she can do online studies and include her with studies to help her focus and intuition. They would both make great detectives and allot of money doing security for the town and neighboring community's.

Love this book!!!
I'd been waiting for this book. I liked where the characters were going. I hope it goes on with that in the next book. I hope we see more interaction between the characters the series follows in each book. I was really happy with the way things happened in this episode of the series. Sorry I know I'm not really good with reviews, but I don't want to let too much slip.

I think this might just be my favourite book in the series so far. All the books are great, but the surprise twist in this one has definitely made it my favourite.
Love the direction things seem to be heading, but I'm not giving out any spoilers lol.

This is a different type of witch story that I fell in love with. The Characters are developed as the story goes along. The main characters are well described and you'll fall in love with them. Great Reading Everyone!

This was my least favorite. There were times that Lady was snide and mean spirited. Sort of tired of Dom too, the characters are not maturing.
