Kristen and Tessa, best friends since childhood, embark on the trip of a lifetime. Together, they travel to Scotland to enjoy the wonders of the highlands along the River Ness. It was during their second night of their vacation that they entered an antique store that caught their attention. There, under glass of an old counter and even older shop owner, a beautiful green stone had demanded their attention. Liza, the one in charge of the stone, must then figure out which woman is to receive the gift that the gem holds. Could it be possible? Could the Jewel of the Highlands carry two women to the past?
A fantastic time traveling tale, a magical adventure full of hope and love! Two best friends then three are in for the surprise of their lives! Travel through time for a chance to find love. As the stone divides from one, to two, to.... (read and see). Adventures and misadventures abound! Suspense and danger surrounds them in the pass and the future! Handsome magical mates, brave, beautiful women, wolves, evil men, and magical beings, make fantastic characters! As true love and true mates find each other, their love, and courage to accept the unexpected and trust the unbelievable!
Interesting paranormal time travel concept but needs extreme editing...
Four stars to the author for her unusual concept of time travel, both into the past and back to the present time, and the development of highland werewolves with a different edge than what is generally drawn, as the love interests to the women.
One star for the extremely poor editing, run-on sentences that need to be read and re-read to try to understand their meaning, and with that there are prepositional phrases tacked on that don't make any sense at all. There are unnecessary commas riddled through out the book, the F word dropped a dozen times that could have been left out without any loss of story integrity, and several dozen other typos. The point that these time traveling women could go back and forth from the present to the past at will, and carry back modern conveniences with them, was ridiculous. They're bringing back movies and having group movie nights, then they return to the present to charge their technology pieces. This detracted from the story enormously. The author lost track of what was going on in the story herself. There's a huge outdoor party, 'the gathering', at the Manor to celebrate a wedding, with the reception line stretching 'a mile and a half', and in the middle of this Cain and Kristen are striping off their clothes and having sex in the middle of the lawn. They are happened upon by her friend Tessa, who is the bride and supposed to be greeting the reception line with the groom. Cain, the laird, has taken to sleeping outdoors since Kristen arrived. He has a manor house with many, many servants, but there isn't a spare bedroom for him to sleep inside? And would someone please tell me what a 'sharp pine' is? I grew up in the country in a construction family and there's no such tree. The were-people Highlanders have a sixth sense for their mate, but this didn't apply when Kristen was kidnapped. Just too many errors and inconsistencies to give this book any more stars. I'm blacklisting this author. On to the next read.
I had high hopes for this book but it fell short and became ridiculous; however it may someone else's favorite, as for me I wont read anything else from this author. The book started wonderfully and it kept me turning pages until chapter 8 when Kristen decided to go back to the past and with no romance whatsoever in the middle of a party outdoors she decided to remove her gown and have sex with Cain on the floor with all the villagers outside and then her friend Tessa happen to come across her and Cain having sex, after that I decided not to waste my time.
A intriguing time travel read. Tessa and Kristen travel to Scotland for a trip of a lifetime. While there they aquire a green stone. This green stone comes with a story. It will forever change their lives.
I loved this read because it was so unique. Tessa embraced her new life but Kristen did not. It was a wild ride as she learns the past and realizes it might hold true love. There were many obstacles in the way of Cain and Kristen's relationship. It was a read that kept me on the edge of my seat and reading late into the night.
I stayed up last night finishing this book. This is not one of my favorite types of books, but I enjoyed it immensely. It was a wonderful love story. I have an issue with the "all powerful" who do not care for the lives or feelings of their subjects. The "all powerful" in this book do redeem themselves in the end, but I was mad at them for a good portion of the book. Thank you Rebecca for another wonderful book
If only I could find a stone to take me where I should be. A wonderful tale of a magical stone that takes these ladies to the past to find their soul mates. I highly recommend.
Whooosh....WOW!!! That was unexpected and just WOW!!! I LOVED EVERY PAGE ABD COULD NOT PUT IT DOWN!!! I am not usually a fan of mythical stories but this one was amazing!!! Hot, suspenseful, romantic and all the other great feels!!! Cannot wait for MORE!!!!
THIS STUPID BOOK MADE ME CRY!!!!! I loved it, great story line, a different twist to a lot of time travel stories. And yes, I mean really cry, not able to see the words cry. Can't wait to read book 2.
I totally enjoyed the story line and have purchased the sequel. I do wish, however, that new authors paid more attention to grammar, spelling and the art of writing a correct sentence. A good editor would make a world of difference.
Time travel, werewolves and romance and then along comes vampires added to the mix. Interesting storyline but the males not telling the females what they need to know is annoying. Also the best friend being so mad that she won't listen is unrealistic
I loved this book . I laughed. I cried and just couldn't put it down until I finished it. The people are so real and the stone that takes them to the past was a little over the top but by damn you had me caught me hooked . Thank you!
I loved the storyline. The magic stones, the time travel, and the fated mates. The characters will sweep you away with them on their journey and you will wish for your own stone!!
Was hesitant to read this book, but so glad that I did. Loved it from the first chapter till the end. Yes there is a HEA but also several surprise twists along the way...
Holy shiznet!!! What a gr8 story. Not your typical shifter story, but still very good. I can't wait to read the next book. I recommend this read. 5 Thumbs up
