BiancaMy life hasn’t exactly been a bed of roses, but getting flooded out of my grotty little basement apartment has been the last straw. Well, the second to last straw. The last straw was my brother and his wife running off to Spain for a second honeymoon and leaving me alone in their house with their four adorable children and Timo, the wonder-manny.
Timo, the wonder-manny, is every bit as terrific as my sister-in-law Camille claimed him to be. He’s kind, he’s intelligent, and he’s great with kids. He’s also not bad to look at, although Camille left out that last part.
The problem? Timo, the wonder-manny, hates me. Apparently, I personify everything he thinks is wrong with Modern Woman, which seems to be just about everything.
TimoIf you’d told me five years ago that I’d be a nanny to four kids under the age of six, I would never have believed it. I was a highflyer back then.
Until I fell.
But now my life’s getting back on track. I’m a new man, and the new and improved me doesn’t get involved with party girls.
Unfortunately, my employers have gone off to Spain on their second honeymoon and left me to look after their four kids and one homeless party girl who threatens to wreck my resolution.
What resolution? I’ve determined to avoid, at all costs, the kind of woman who gets drunk and hits on strange men.
Unfortunately, I’m the strange man who’s caught this party girl’s eye, and there’s no avoiding her when she’s sleeping in the room next door.
Falling for the Manny is a fun, flirty enemies-to-lovers closed-door sweet romance. It contains mild innuendo, alcohol use, implied sex in the context of a committed relationship, and a "fade-to-black" scene. It is free of explicit content and strong language. If it were a movie it would be PG13.
A previous, slightly different version of this novel was published with the titles Stuck with the Manny/Stuck with You under the pen name Amelie Bloom. This story was also published in serial form on the author's blog under the title Stuck with You.
Hi, there! I write sweet PG-rated feel-good romance, romantic comedy and humorous women's fiction.
When I'm not writing, I try to keep my houseplants alive, continue my quest for the perfect gingerbread recipe and enjoy spending time with my husband of many years.
Presently, I don't blog, tweet, Facebook, pinter or insta-anything. Maybe someday :).
[I read this book in the serialized version the author posted to her blog.]
Stuck With You by Mazy Morris definitely hooked me from the start and pretty much never let go. I realized early on that if I wanted to enjoy the story I'd have to wait and let the author finish posting the story to her blog since I read it in the serialized form, though everyone has the option of just buying it as an ebook.
The story was cute and I definitely looked forward to every/next interaction between Bianca and Timo. The nieces and nephews were a really nice, adorable, and funny touch. It was also great getting to know Bianca's circle of friends and family, and I was left curious as to what happened to her sister. I also liked that this story dealt with serious (some may say heavy) topics, showing them the respect they deserve, but also not letting go of the notion that this is a rom-com. Also, it was great having characters behave like adults, going to work and dealing with problems there (which all helped to add a deeper layer to the story).
As for content, this is a sweet romance with a very close-door scene (and even the kisses leading up to it are more told than described). So, recommended for fans of Sweet romcoms, as opposed to Clean & Wholesome since the characters aren't married. Also, there's mention of a gay character, but I think it was only in one chapter. ~ 3.5 stars
