A princely spy. A power-hungry wizard. A kingdom beset by corruption.

When King Farrimond hears rumors that slavers are attacking villages on the border, he sends his youngest son, Terren, to investigate. Terren discovers that some of the king’s most trusted lords are involved and reports back to the king.

No one knows how far the corruption has spread so Terren sets out to get more information. His trip is cut short when he is captured by the slavers and sold to Lord Wizard Velsedor, Linvale’s greatest enemy.

Can Terren help the kingdom he loves while bound by a spell that keeps him from escaping? Or will Velsedor discover his true identity and use him against his father?

A well-written, fun story in a fascinating world

We may not get much dragon in this Dragons of Norn novella, but having another story in the Dragons of Norn universe is a win anyway. The world is fascinating, and here we get to visit the lands outside the shield created during the Great War.

Not just the world is engaging; the story is, too, packed with twists and turns and surprises even as a shorter story. We first meet the titular character, Omo, in The Spellborn and the Dragon. This book is his story from the time frame before the Spellborn crossed the shield. It can be read on its own, too, without reading the other Dragons of Norn books, though once you read one of them you'll want to read everything from within the world.
