From New York Times Bestselling Author Kristen Proby comes an all-new series of hot men in uniform in her beloved Big Sky Series! HEROES OF BIG SKY!

Nick loves his post as the princess’s security detail. Unfortunately, the bullet that ripped through his shoulder put a stop to pretty much everything in his life for a while, and his bosses have plans for him that don’t include sitting at headquarters with the other guards, drinking beer in his off-hours. They’ve assigned him a medical professional and banished him to the lake house for rehab. Which wouldn’t be so bad, but his new babysitter isn’t at all what he expected. She’s sin and temptation wrapped in the perfect package and infuriates him like no other.

Coming back home to Montana sounded like a dream to Jordan, and her new job is something she could do in her sleep. But then she meets her charge. Nick is stubborn, frustrating, and way too sexy. As a professional, she knows she should keep her distance, but he’s much too irresistible. And maybe it’s the magic of the holiday season, but he grows on her way faster than she ever thought possible.

When forced to imagine what life might be like without the other, Nick and Jordan quickly realize all they need is each other. Because it’s undeniable that they have it all—friendship, trust, loyalty, love. And yes, honor. The rest will fall into place.

”So, what are we going to do?” I ask. “Well, right now, you’re going to seduce me. And we’ll figure the rest out together.” “I like the way you think.”

This is part of the Tis The Season For Romance anthology.

Setting: Cunningham Fall, Montana

After suffering an injury protecting the royal family, Nick has been forced out of the security headquarters and relegated to the royal lake house to “rest”
- ”You’re moving into my old lake house just down the street. It’s secluded and quiet—the perfect place to rest.”

And if that isn’t bad enough for Nick....the princess has hired a nurse to assist with his rehab.
- ”And, to make sure you rest, I’ve hired you a nurse.” I blink at her and then scowl. “You hired me a babysitter?” “Call it what you want, but a medical professional will be living with you, twenty-four hours a day until you’ve healed and have been given permission to return to work.”

Jordan recently moved back to Montana after living in Phoenix for 5 years and was in between jobs, so she grabbed a “caretaker” position for a couple weeks with the hopes of getting a nursing job in a clinic or hospital.

Nick’s surly attitude and Jordan’s ray of sunshine attitude made these two quite combustible.....in a good way.

Characters:
Nick
- defends Her Royal Highness, Princess Nina.
- shot in the line of duty a month ago, ruining muscles in his right shoulder and chest. Needs some rest and rehab to get back to duty

Jordan:
- a nurse who grew up in Montana and after 5 years in Phoenix really can’t wait to be back in the Montana countryside.
- She recently broke up with her ex because he was controlling and hit her once

These two were fun together and had some great “bantery” moments. I adored Jordan’s personality and the way she was able to bring Nick out of grumpiness. It was a sweet little holiday novella with a nice HEA and I really enjoyed it.

Quotes
“I’m being punished.”
Nina laughs and shakes her head. “Nick, you get to live in a nice house on the lake. It’s snowy and peaceful, not to mention, ridiculously beautiful. Why are you complaining?”

“You’re a girl,” he says.
“A woman,” I confirm, wondering if he has brain damage. “Thanks for noticing.”

“Are we going to stand in the doorway all day? If so, I’ll grab a scarf out of my car.”

I enjoyed listening to this book narrated by Andi Arndt and Shane East. Even though this is a short read, it ticks every single box of what I like of a holiday romance book. There's a lot of #kilig moments throughout. It is my first book from Kristen Proby and definitely not my last. I highly recommend this book for a quick listen or read.

Such a sweet novella.

As you can always expect from this author, this was a sexy novella with no drama.
With a pinch of grumpy-sunshine trope, this book was adorable and easy to read.

Honor is the first book in the Heroes of Big Sky by Kristen Proby. It’s also part of the Big Sky series. I have read a few but not all of the Big Sky series so it was fun to go back to Cunningham Falls. Nick was injured while protecting Princess Nina and now he has to rehab away from duty. At least it’s in a beautiful lake house in Montana but what he isn’t happy about is having a babysitter disguised as a nurse. Jordan just moved back home from Arizona and a family member has hooked her up with a live-in nursing job. What she didn’t expect was him. A sexy and grumpy hottie who isn’t a fan of Christmas. Will she get him to love Christmas? Will he let her nurse him to good health? These two are so fun, sexy, and sweet.

I am a huge fan of anything in Cunningham Falls, Montana, and I have loved Nick since he was first introduced in Enchanting Sebastian. I was so excited that he was getting his own HEA~ and it was fantastic! I loved how strong Jordan was, and how she handled Nick so well.

I can't wait for more in the Heroes of Big Sky series!!

I’m so beyond happy that they gave Nick his own story. I loved watching Mr. grumpy fall in love, and with the perfect person. Jordan is such a breath of fresh air and was so refreshing to read. They’re cute story was definitely a great way to kick off the month of February.

Nick and Jordan put a smile on my face. I loved that he was annoyed yet intrigued by her. I love it when alpha males need help but won’t ask!!! This was sweet. My only con to this story, was that it wayyyyyyy toooooooooo shorttttttt!!!! (For me). Exceptional all the same.

Honor by Kristen Proby is a captivating romance that kicks off the Heroes of Big Sky series, blending passion, emotional depth, and a slow-burn love story set against the idyllic Montana backdrop. The novel follows Nick, a tough-as-nails security professional forced into recovery after an injury, and Jordan, the medical professional assigned to oversee his rehabilitation. What starts as a professional arrangement quickly ignites into a chemistry-filled romance, making for a heartwarming, emotionally-charged story.

Nick’s world is turned upside down when a bullet wound forces him off the field and into the peaceful solitude of a lakeside retreat for rehab. With his usual fast-paced life on hold, he’s far from thrilled about the situation—and even less thrilled about his new "babysitter," Jordan. She’s smart, beautiful, and infuriatingly professional, and despite his best efforts to stay distant, Nick finds it nearly impossible to ignore the attraction simmering between them.

Jordan, meanwhile, thought returning home to Montana for a job in her field would be easy. But when she meets Nick, things become far more complicated. While she’s determined to remain professional, the undeniable pull between them makes it increasingly difficult to maintain boundaries. As their time together deepens, the tension between them turns into something much more: a romance full of trust, passion, and emotional growth.

The romance in Honor unfolds gradually, transitioning from antagonistic banter to a tender and intensely passionate connection. The chemistry between Nick and Jordan is electric from the start, but what really makes their relationship stand out is how it develops emotionally. Initially, Nick is stubborn and resistant, not just to his physical rehabilitation but to the idea of letting someone into his life. Jordan, on the other hand, is professional and composed, but the more she gets to know Nick, the harder it becomes to keep her emotions in check. Their back-and-forth—full of playful sparring and sizzling tension—naturally evolves into deeper emotional intimacy as they begin to truly see each other for who they are beneath the surface.

Nick’s vulnerability, particularly his struggle with his injury, adds emotional depth to their relationship. His tough exterior cracks as he starts to lean on Jordan, and in turn, she opens up about her own hopes and fears. Their bond strengthens as they navigate their growing feelings for each other, building trust and emotional closeness alongside their undeniable physical attraction. Their romance is a beautiful balance of passion and tenderness, with each moment they share feeling earned and genuine.

Isolated in the lake house, Nick and Jordan are forced to confront their feelings and the realities of what a future together might look like. It’s here, away from the distractions of the world, that they realize how essential they’ve become to one another. The slow burn of their relationship culminates in a satisfying and heartfelt realization that they’ve found something rare and worth fighting for.

Supporting characters add warmth and depth to the story, creating a sense of community that contrasts beautifully with the more intimate moments between Nick and Jordan. The friendships and family dynamics in the book provide a lovely balance to the romance, reminding us that love is not only about the two people at the center but the people who support and encourage them.

Overall, Honor is a deeply satisfying romance with plenty of heart. While it incorporates familiar tropes—such as forced proximity and opposites attract—the emotional depth of Nick and Jordan’s relationship, combined with their sizzling chemistry, makes it stand out. If you enjoy slow-burn romances with a perfect mix of passion, humor, and personal growth, Honor is a delightful and engaging read that will keep you hooked until the very last page.

Gah! 5 this book was so much more than I could have ever dreamed of stars! Honor
(Heroes of Big Sky #1) by Kristen Proby was free as part of a holiday anthology give away 'Tis the Season for Romance. Afterwards, the short book with be available January 2021.

This is the last Cunningham Falls book for a while as far as I know because we haven’t received the date for the second book in the series. Nick and Jordan were absolutely adorable together. Nick is Nina’s security. If you’ve been following with Royal Big Sky Series thus far you know Nick from the book right before this one as well as being mentioned in the other Royal books. That must be one of, if not the best things about Kristen Proby. The way she ties these characters together leave us feeling connected as if we know them in real life. Cunningham Falls is once again the location for the story. All this being said I highly recommend reading the series in order.

The order is as follows:
The Big Sky Series: Love Under the Big Sky, Big Sky, Big Sky Royal & Heroes of Big Sky
Crossovers in the series are:
Wicked Force
Crazy Imperfect Love
Worth Fighting For
Nothing Without You
All Stars Fall
Hold On

Knowing this was part of the Royal series, I chose to wait until reading this to finish all of the other Royal books. I felt that I would miss important parts of the book otherwise. I’m glad I decided to read the 3 prior books in the series. Knowing the Royal Family in my opinion, is important because Sebastian, Nina, Liam and a few others are secondary characters here. However, if you must go on without the warnings, it can still be read as a standalone.

I love a bruting hero. At first, Nick was angry at life and his circumstances. He doesn’t want to be rehabbing his shoulder injury. He wants to be doing what he does best, protecting Princess Nina. When forced to sit on the sidelines at Nina’s lake house, Nick is surprised when he meets Jordan. Jordan is from Cunningham Falls originally but moved away to now come back taking on a temporary gig. In the end, I could not be happier with this story! Down to the epilogue it was written to perfection. Jordan is strong. She’s been through a lot as has Nick. I recommend reading to the end of their touching story!
Ps: Am I the only one who took way too long to realize that all of the stories in the Tis the Season Holiday Anthology are based around Christmas? Lol yeah I feel very silly that it took me 2 stories in to catch that.

Nick is Nina's bodyguard and after the events of the last royal book, he's recovering from his gunshot wound. In order for him to fully recover and not hurt himself again, Nina has hired a nurse to look after him. Jordan has moved back to Cunningham Falls after being gone for a couple of years and working for the royals is a dream for her. I really liked Jordan and how positive she was about most things but she was no push over. Jordan put Nick in his place when he was being grumpy and even got him to open up. Nick was frustrated from being unable to work and his shoulder taking its time to heal. Jordan and Nick had great banter and even better chemistry. The holiday season in Cunningham Falls was quite picturesque but the town always is. Jordan made Nick happy, something he hadn't felt in a while. I like how much they made each other happy and how much they laughed together. The epilogue was so great and I love that Jordan and Nick get to live their lives together wherever they are in the world. I can't wait for the rest if this new series.

This book can be read as stand alone, however, the characters have been introduced in previous books.

Nick, who is part of the British royalty bodyguard team, wounded himself on duty, on his right shoulder and chest. Therefore, he would have to stay in rehabilitation for a while, without working.
He was already more than bored, but Princess Nina and her husband, Prince Sebastian, were unanimous in making Nick fully recover to return to active duty.
So that he wouldn't feel bad about being close to his co-workers, he would stay in her empty house, next to the river. And a nurse was hired to look after him.
A babysitter? No way!

But when Jordan comes into his life, with all her competence as a nurse, and her cheerful way of looking at life, Nick was totally captivated by her.
Each and every relationship between them was explosive.
But how would they have a future together if her life was in Cunningham Falls, and his was to travel wherever the prince/princess went?

I really liked this introduction to Big Sky but also, I know this is a crossover to the author's royal series, which is going on my TBR. I thought the grumpy Nick was good but I absolutely loved the sunny and sweet Jordan. These types of characters are my favorites because the world is already a little crazy so her happy disposition always brought a smile to my face. I thought the story was a little too abrupt in certain places which makes sense given it is a novella but it still get a little jarring. But I cannot wait for Courage, the first full length book in this series- If this novella is any indication, it'll be fun!

This was way too short

I really liked Nick from the other books and I was hoping to get to know him better, but with the length we really don't. He is healing from being shot in Callum's book and he wants to get back to work, we get a smidgen of his back story but not much.

I liked Jordan, she was a little crazy, in a good way, and very upfront when asking questions and didn't play games. But again I wanted more from her. We barley get to know her ex, who is set up to be the baddie in this but then that fizzles out.

This could have easily been made to be longer and we could have gotten a bit more of these two as a real couple.

All the Swoons

All the swoons for this bodyguard romance. Nick is a royal bodyguard that was injured on the job. Jordan is the nurse hired to assist him while he heals. Through their close proximity they develop feelings for each other. I love the honesty between these two. Jordan is a strong heroine who does not back down. She is the perfect match for Nick.

This book was wonderfully performed by Shane East and Andi Arndt. They made me fall in love with the characters more.

This was a sweet romance that reminded me why I love bodyguard romances.

So much yes!!! What a perfect holiday start to a new Cunningham Falls Series. Nick and Jordan were perfect and the only thing that could make Cunningham Falls better is being there during the holidays. It’s my favorite fictional town.

This was a sweet, sexy holiday novella. If you’re already a fan and want to “visit” with some of your favorite Big Sky and Big Sky Royal characters pick up this anthology or wait until it releases in January. Either way, read it!

A novella in the Tis the Season for Romance anthology, Honor features a body guard who works for a royal family, and is injured in the line of duty. The nurse assigned to him to make sure he rests and recuperates properly in order to return to duty, might just be more of a handful than he expected. Honor is a delightful peek into Proby's Big Sky series and intrigues me to seek out the entire story.

Return to Cunningham Falls!

A return to Cunningham Falls with Nick who was injured saving Princess Nina and the physical therapist who was hired to make sure he didn’t reinjure his shoulder. Only problem is that he that Jordan would be a guy and Jordan definitely wasn’t.

I enjoyed reading about Cunningham Falls and the royal protection team with Nick getting his happily ever after with Jordan.

4.75 Stars for Nick & Jordan’s story. These two were opposites in so many ways. She’s cheerful and loves having fun. He’s uber serious and frequently grumpy. So being thrown together as Jordan supervises Nick’s recuperation, the attraction between the pair is full of that thing Kristen Proby does so well - intense chemistry that leaves the reader breathless and needing more. Filled with lots of appearances by Big Sky side characters, Honor was a delight to read!

I absolutely loved Nick and Jordan's story. Nick is grumpy and grumbly and recovering from being shot and in waltzes Jordan who is a bright ball of sunshine. She bounces into his life and breaks down all his walls. I read this novella in one sitting, devouring page by page. Every time I head back to Cunningham Falls, Montana with Kristen Proby I love the small town vibe and characters. Nick is a supporting character in the big sky royals series and I love reading his HEA.

Nick has always been a part of the royal family’s bodyguard so when he gets injured doing just that. While he is recovering, he refuses to slow down so Nina decided to hire him a nurse to help him. This was a quick novella that brings us back to Big Sky and jump between our beloved Royals and their friends in their small town. Jordan brings the sunshine to Nick’s grumpy persona and it is fun to watch him learn to enjoy the little things in life.
