The Master is coming to kill her. Can anyone survive?
Sariah took down her old mentor and scored a bold victory for her new allies, but there’s no time to celebrate.
The Master aims to kill her, and this time he’ll do it himself.
His new magic is terrifying. With a single touch, he can sap all her strength, leaving her broken and powerless.
In the wake of crushing defeat, a desperate choice stands before her—protect her friends back home, or seek out a new power that just might be able to turn the tide of the conflict in her favor.
Choose wrong, and all her friends will die.
Can she stop The Master before he strips away everything she loves?
Hey all! I'm a fantasy author with a love of all things Disney, Star Wars, magic, and dragons.
My life-long love affair with books started at the tender age of four, soon moving on from Mr. Man books (remember those?) to more traditional fantasy by authors like Terry Brooks and Tolkien.
An off the wall writing prompt in the third grade about Sir Lancelot fighting a dragon and falling off a cliff vaulted me into writing, and I've since created many a wondrous world (including a series of short stories about Sir Lancelot I hope to re-create one of these days).
I live in the Pacific Northwest with my wife and four children, and I strive to keep the magic alive with them each and every day.
Well, this was an improvement on the last book, although I still couldn't give it the full five stars, because Harvey's 'dopey grin' was scattered liberally throughout this final story in the series, too.
It's amazing how just one phrase can spoil a story!
Sariah seemed to grow up a little more in this final book, which I was very happy to read, and the whiney voice was toned down, too, which was, frankly, a blessing!
I must admit, that the author did really well in portraying just how confusing it can be, to either know yourself, or to know just who it is that your heart has settled on, at Sariah's age. He did that very well, I thought.
It made me think about myself at that age and, although I live in an age of information, so can find all the help I'd ever need, to learn who I am, Sariah lives in a future, more brutal, and very much more basic, world, where information is so much more harder to access, and there would be little time to contemplate your own thoughts and feelings, least of all to know yourself at so young an age!
All-in-all, I enjoyed this series as a whole, and would be happy enough to read more of Sariah's adventures with her trusty companions. But I'd hope that Peter Glenn, the author, will have found more diverse ways of describing the way in which emotion is portrayed, in any future books, because that 'dopey grin' began to haunt me, even before I'd finished the first book!
Well, now that I've finished this series, I literally have one more book, and I'll have finished the whole of The Kurtherian Universe! 😭
It's been a journey that's taken me almost ten months to complete, and I confess that I'm going to miss it, deeply, but I'm fortunate enough to have been able to keep buying all of the Kindle books written by the various authors involved with this amazing KU, and so I've got hundreds of books just waiting for me to start on them.
But, in the meantime, I'm going to open the Magic Below Paris series, once more, and read the eighth, and final, book of this series, and this Arc: Trading to the Deeps.
I don't know which new series I'll be starting after I've read this, but I'm sure I'll have settled on something, by the time I finish it! Lol
One of the best parts of TKG is getting to see authors grow. While there is again too much grinning and only a slight abatement of the dopey grin, the story is interesting and the characters pretty engaging. The dialogue is sometimes lame and the villain oftentimes seems a trite caricature. Also, I personally don't appreciate heroines who are so emotionally immature. And what is up with Will and his anger so that he raised his hand for a blow at Ilene? This is a disciplined warrior?
I recommend the series overall but must say I expected to see more improvement and character development by book 4. Having said all that, I would read more books with these characters so it seems only fair to raise my 3 stars to a 4. After all, the story was still quite entertaining.
I really like the way Sariah is advancing in both her magical and combat skills. Though she is still a little bit of a novice sometimes and tends to get easily distracted, that is part of what makes her likeable. I love the twists and turns and the surprises so the reader never knows what will happen next. I liked the way the ending settled some issues but left others open which will hopefully lead to more books.
I absolutely LOVED this series. Being along for the ride as Sariah grew from a nobody into a strong, powerful leader has been amazing. I sincerely hope that there are more Sariah stories to come, as there are SO MANY unresolved plot lines (intentionally, I know) that I want to see wrapped up. Keep up the great work!
Congratulations Peter Glenn on a captivating series. I had mixed emotions about some of the characters where they did totally stupid things and should have been slapped a few times or more. Then, personal growth happened and they turned into characters you could love. Well done on the conclusion and I can’t wait to read more of your books.
Great series. Please continue with at least one more book , so that we can learn more about Bear , Will , Gave and the other main characters. I'm sure it would be just as amazing .
Really great story!!!!!! Everyone played their part . Enjoyed how determined Sariah and Harvey are to increase their power when needed and make things right. Belief can overcome a lot.
Sariah has some hard lessons as she continues her journey. New friends and allies present themselves, and we see an astonishing twist. Another enjoyable tale, where Sariah does some more maturing. It will be interesting to see what she does next.
What an awesome conclusion to this arc of the Sariah Chronicles! Non-stop action on almost every page. I can't wait to see what happens next! Keep churning out the awesome stories, Peter!
Best book on series so far. Has a great pace and keeps you heading to the end. This book sees the 'the master' Arc completed but Sariah still has many tasks to complete and it will interesting to see where Peter and Michael take the next ARC.
I was so glad the story ended well for Sariah and can't wait for her next adventure. Peter will you be doing a follow-up with the same characters, but also adding new ones?
