Book 1 Needing Her
Major Lincoln Davis has voices in his head that haunt him. They tell him he is a predator that isn't worthy of love. Not helping is that he isn't sleeping due to the nightmares. One night he sees a woman being attacked. He saves her. Somehow she makes him feel the need to protect her.
Angela needs to find the man who saved her.
There is something so trusting about him, but dangerous and sad. Once she finds him she isn't sure what to say.
I want to like Lincoln but I am left ambivalent. When he is with Angela she humanizes him. You can see him trying to show his love, but in his own way. However his internal voices are disturbing. I guess it just shows how conflicted he is. We are told Angela is strong and independent and her actions sort of show it but I don't like the way she brushes off her attack. She didn't even try to get some justice.
This is a short read so there isn't too much action. These characters are complex and need a longer story to show it. When Lincoln and Angela finally give in to each other, you can feel the steam. The ending just seems a little too convenient, a little farfetched. Needing Her is a standalone book with a happily ever after.
Book 2 Burning For Her
Brooke is a firefighter who also took over the Fire House Saloon, bar started by her father. Since her father died her father's best friend, Samuel O'Riley is her father figure. His son Terry is coming back to town and is joining fire team. Brooke and Terry grew up together and are very pleased with how the other turned out.
They arr quickly drawn together but now there are arsons happening around them, will their relationship survive this? The story behind the arsons had potential but when we find out who is behind the fires and the reason, it feels like a letdown. I didn't feel any suspense or angst set up by the bad guy.
Brooke and Terry have a lot of heat and they move quickly but at least they have their joint history to explain their rapid relationship. Again though I would like to see a longer story.
Book 3 Running To Her
Dr Dane Westford notices beautiful woman running in the 5K. Snow cone cart accident puts Callie Englund into his arms. Just Dane's luck, the first woman he has felt anything about also is employed by his ex fiance Susan or Songe as she is now known.
Dane and Callie are a great fit together. Although Callie has Songe telling her that Dane is a serial cheater and Dane knows his occupation is a relationship killer, the story does have a happily ever after.
Running To Her is a standalone romance with an alpha doctor and a strong woman who fights for what she wants.
Book 4 Rescuing Her
Victor teaches self defense,Krav Maga. Late one night he sees a damsel in distress. Jewel is having it out with a man twice her size who ran her off the road on her motorcycle. Victor is a little impressed but jumps right in. When she is safe, he offers her self defense lessons. The attraction is felt by both.
The story has a tarot card reading mother, bird that swears in English and Spanish and an emotionally abusive boyfriend.
The insta love story moves quickly and reads the same. Victor is cute in his adoration of Jewel. He works hard to make her feel worthy after her ex. Together they make a sweet couple with smoking chemistry.
Book 5 Saving Her
Brought together on Libby's 29th birthday, a bad, bad day for Libby, Andres and Libby are instantly attracted to each other. Poor Libby's bad luck is humorous for the reader. We have all had days like this, although hopefully not to this extreme though. Going through Libby's day we can all relate to her.
Andres starts off as a gruff characher but quickly becomes endearing as he opens up to Libby. His vulnerability is touching as he quickly tries to cover it up but she won't allow him to hide.
They are strong when the other needs support and being a couple they give each other the courage to be the best they can be as individuals.
My only criticism of the story is I wish it was a longer story. I like the characters and would like to have read more about them before getting to the happily ever after.
Overall the series is a quick read with standalone stories and a happily ever after. It is a feel good read that doesn't get bogged down with anything heavy.

5 short complete romances
Loved all 5 stories. If you're into"Love at first sight and happy endings" then this the book for you. The heroes may be alphas but the damsels in distress are just as strong if not stronger.
