The Learning Room After Sir Joshua Knights has cause to order the correction of his youngest daughter Georgina but then her older sister Diana is unforgivably rude to Nicholas Gradley, the guest who is to be the saviour of the family fortunes. Sir Joshua realises he has been too lax in the matter of disciplining his daughters and decides a much stricter regime is necessary, beginning with Diana, who disgraced herself and him at dinner. Days of Discipline Series This series of short novels each 9,000-10,000 words long, describes the lead up to and the day when the various girls featured are called to pay the deserved price of their misbehaviours, which price is always exacted through corporal punishment and in two cases public humiliation. These stories are set in very different times in English history, from the medieval setting of 1202 to the Industrial Revolution of 1874 through to the Victorian story set in 1874 and an up to date story of Susie in 1996. Their varying disciplinary punishments are fully detailed. Each story can be read as a stand-alone novel; although they share a common theme they are not otherwise connected.
