“Don’t play games with me. I’ve had enough women in my life who have done that, and if that’s all you’re going to do, to hell with you.” Jake Harper wanted nothing to do with deceitful women and vowed he would never go back to jail. Donna Fisher already had a boyfriend, but when a cowboy shows up, whose crooked tooth and lopsided smile twisted her emotions into knots, she’s torn between the jock she thought she loved, and the one she believes is wanted by the law.
Born in Bismarck, North Dakota, she has been enthralled with the badlands since the first time her parents took the family to the town of Medora, ND when she was five years old.
The Fisher/Lafayette Series was born from her enchantment with the historical figures Antoine-Amédée-Marie-Vincent Manca de Vallombrosa, the Marquis de Morès, and his wife, Medora.
I like the stories and characters but the misspelled words really are glaring. It's a fishing pole, not poll!! Horses are kept in a corral, not a coral. And unfortunately the series is a bit of a cliffhanger. But still a good rainy day read.
