I am really enjoying Felicity Brandon’s new Demonology series and book three Curse Me was a fantastic read. The storyline and characters pulled me in and I found it difficult to stop reading to go to bed. In this book Penny (human) is a writer who has lost her writing muse after a terrible break up with her boyfriend. She said in the book “I was a romance writer without love, an artist without inspiration, and a writer without a muse was done for.” “ I was cursed.” Then along comes Lucien (demon) who was drawn to her, to her misery and he takes her away and forces her to write again. He becomes her muse and inspires her to create. They fall for each other and find their version of a happy ever after.

Curse Me is another entry into the demonic world created by Felicity Brandon. Like its predecessors, it is an excellently dark and erotic tale. These are not stories for the faint of heart. You have been duly warned.

This is the story of Penny Lomax, an author with a serious case of writer’s block. She’s stuck in place, can’t move forward in the slightest, leaving several books unfinished. Along comes the demon, Lucien, who not only unblocks her inability to put words to paper but also opens her to some of her darker proclivities. He takes her on a self indulgent journey of personal revelation.

As usual with Ms. Brandon, the story is well executed, tightly constructed, with engaging characters and very effective world building. If you like to sojourn on the dark side from time to time, this series of stand alone books will take you there. I enjoyed walking in the shadows very much. Highly recommended.

This series just keeps getting more exciting with every story. But I felt that Lucien and Penny story needed more it felt a bit to rush the ending but it was still a great read. I think it was more steamy and more intense I can't wait for more from this series!

“In all your fantasies, you always yearned for a man to take control.” I breathed the words against her softly, not permitting her gaze to leave mine, even though I sensed she was desperate to drag it away. There would be no getting away from me. I would be everything little Penny needed from now on—everything she could see, every breath she took, and the sooner she came to accept the fact, the better.
“Did you not?”
Pulling her lower lip between her teeth, she nibbled it nervously. “Not like this.”
I wanted to laugh at her response. “Of course, not like this,” I teased. “You only dreamed of mortal men. You never bargained on a being as powerful as me.”

Penny is a successful writer; at least she was, until her lover left her. Now, she is unable to complete any of her stories and is facing a bleak future. Penny’s lack of motivation and her grief and despair left me feeling sadness and uncertainty for what work she might be able to accomplish. When Lucien enters her life with his absolute Alpha Dominance, my feelings became wary and frightened for her future endeavors. But Lucien is a powerful, forceful demon, who is determined to take Penny into a future she had only imagined. Slowly at first, I was skeptical of Penny’s ability to cope with Lucien’s orders. But, as she hesitantly discovered the beauty of submission, my soul felt hope and excitement.

Penny seems to hate what Lucien is doing to her. But, does she really? She seems to be experiencing a traumatic tug-of-war with two vastly different sides of her personality. I am finding her trials and tribulations frightening, yet liberating and ultimately very exciting.

Trying to follow the mind of Felicity Brandon, the author of this writing, is a pleasurable excitement bordering on sadistic fear. Thank you Felicity!

This was so interesting to read. I admit that reading about being helpless and humiliated is hard to read, but I also know that sometimes you like what you like. Even if that goes against what everyone thinks is not right. Reading about Penny learning to accept that she likes the things she likes was really interesting. I enjoyed that Lucien, even as a demon, made her see how she could feed her own darkness and come out happier for it. That it wasn't completely bad to enjoy what she enjoyed, and that it actually helped her inner muse have inspiration. I enjoyed this one because watching Penny struggle to submit to Lucien and how he did things was also super steamy. And made the book a really great read and that much more interesting!

Book 3 in the Demonology series is dark but very hot! Once again, Felicity Brandon has taken my mind to that dark little place that only she seems to be able to lure me into. Lucien and Penny's story is very well written. The descriptions make you feel like you are in the room with them and experiencing all the emotions!!!! Not for those who don't like dark stories, this one will keep you glued to your chair or bed or wherever you're reading at. Just get the book!!!!

This was amazing and so unpredictable. Penny is having a hard time in her life full of sadness and no motivatiation to write when Lucien steps in and let me tell you he is very demanding and shows Penny a whole other side of herself and is very very dark so hold on tight this will consume you and you are able to picture it all. Just fantastic and so descriptive.

These books in this series just get better and better. The characters are surprisingly unpredictable. They are all very manipulating in their actions. The hot and steamy scenes are amazing. Well written by Felicity, keep them coming!

It's better if you read the series in order for the best understanding.
As the series is progressing, it is getting darker, deeper n pushing more boundaries.
This is the Story of Penny, a writer suffering from writers block after her bf leaves her. She is going through a tough time.
Lucien is our supremely alpha paranormal character who can open all gates wide. He demands all control and complete dominance.
As always Ms Brandon takes us on a rollercoaster ride.

Penny was an Author who could not write the ending to of her books ever since Jackson left. Lucien was a devil who had been watching Penny for a long time and decided it was time to show himself. Penny could hear his voice at first but not see him. Lucien said he would get her writing again if she gave herself over to him. When Penny woke up she found herself on a mattress naked and chains on her ankles. Lucien said he would teach her a lesson and she found her arms strung up in cuffs and so the punishment began. This room was one that she dreamed of and Lucien had duplicated it. Penny had to call him Master and sure enough Penny started to write but not the story Lucien wanted her to write. For pleasure Lucien took her to a cabin another place Penny had dreamed about in this cabin it had pleasure and In the basement pain and pleasure. This is a book you will not be able to put down.

This third entry in Ms. Brandon's series demonstrates her wonderful & iconic talent for writing erotically visceral scenes & making her readers love diabolical anti-Heroes we normally would not.
Lucien is our anti-H in 'Curse Me' intrigued by, & shadowing our heroine Penny.
Lucien is a demon who has been attracted to the increasingly despondent & downright depressed Penny, a best selling romance writer who has lost her muse, her interest in life & her direction since she & her ex broke up a year earlier. Since then she's written numerous books, all unfinished ~ missing their HEA because she no longer is able to envision ANY HEA.
And at her lowest point, Lucien slides into her life & completely takes over her life & body as well as her physical care & writing output. And DOMINANT is an inadequate word to describe him. And, unlike the prevous two demons of the previous two books, Lucien isn't concerned about a 'contract' with Penny or even her acquiescence with his entrance & control of her life. And she is emphatic she does NOT agree or even want to agree to his uber dominating mastery over her body & soul. But he finds her too delicious & intriguing to walk away, so he takes her anyway . . . .
And this is where this one very slightly missed for me compared to the relationships in the first two books. I found (for me) Lucien & Penny's emotional relationship left me wanting. But, I think I need to reread this one to see if I missed something that would change my impressions.
BUT: The writing is excellent & pulls the reader in as always, there are sizzling sensual scenes to make the reader bite a lip & catch their breath, delicious angst we dive into with the characters, characters we CARE about, WORRY for & over as well as a plot that is wonderfully intense & intriguing.
This one kept me enthralled from beginning to end & on delicious tenterhooks until the last page & I immensely enjoyed it.

Felicity Brandon has outdone herself with Curse Me, book 3 of the Demonology Series which is dark and steamy. The storyline and characters of Lucien and Penny is by far my favorite couple in Curse Me. Penny is an romance author who has lost her muse when her boyfriend leaves her. She has fallen into a deep depression, unable to complete all of her unfinished books as she has giving up and has lost her way. Enter Lucien who has been prodding her and her ex as he feeds on their emotions, now he knows that Penny is right where he wants her as she is the one he can use and help. Now they will begin a give and take relationship once Lucien reveals himself to Penny and informs her what is expected from her and what he is able to do for her. Now Penny finds herself shackled in a dungeon as Lucien brings out all of her dark desires that she has kept repressed. Now this spirited young woman will try and fight Lucien all the way, but lust and temptation will win in the end as mortal and demon worlds will collide. Without giving anything away, you will be immersed into this dark, edgy steamy story. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book. This series is a must read, one that will have you wanting your own sexy demon. Well done Felicity, you have done an outstanding job in the Demonology Series!

Book 3 of Felicity Brandon's Demonology series is every bit as wonderful as the first 2. I love the characters, the dark and sexy elements, and the HEA, but something I'm enjoying even more is the theme of the FMC finding her happiness after experiencing something horrible. I also love that it is that pain or anger than invites the demons into their worlds. This element is both a reasonable excuse of why there is a demon, but it shows the character's strength and how beautiful life can be after you travel such a difficult path. I know it's fiction, but a lot of fiction can be cathartic, and that's how these stories affect me.

This one is focused on Penny, a romance author who is suffering from writer's block since the end of her marriage, and Lucian, the demon who decides to do something about it. I love the way Penny deals with her heartache in a very believable way, and even the way she reacts to Lucian when he is first introduced. Lucian is the perfect bad boy hero type and he is willing to do whatever it takes to get Penny in touch with who she is and what she really desires in life. Their interactions are steamy and romantic, and by the end I was just as much in love with Lucian as Penny was.

This is a really fun series, and this is a fabulous addition to it, and all paranormal romance lovers will enjoy it.

I love how each of these books in the series is so different yet still interconnected! A mind-reading demon who knows all of your darkest fantasies and enacts them for you! Penny is one lucky girl! Plus he cares about her career and mental well-being! Sounds like the perfect package to me! I loved how it wasn't just about the sex between them but about him helping her finish all the books she had been trying to write. I also liked how it was a different take on "making a deal with the devil" she was already successful before Lucien came along but she wasn't happy. And she never actually asked him to help her or agreed to his so-called deal which was a fun added dynamic between them. This one was very focused on how each of them felt throughout the book not only towards each other but about what they were doing together. I am glad they got their HEA and I can't wait for the next instalment in the series!

This is a 3.75

So, another Demonology book. I liked it, but not quite as much as I liked the first two books. Part of it is because I had a harder time warming up to Lucien. He felt a lot more distant and colder than the guys from the first two books, and it felt like he didn't connect with Penny until later in the book, at least, not in the same way that happened in the first two books.

Penny was very stubborn and really resistant to anything happening. She wanted it to happen, she just didn't want to want it to happen, and she felt like she should be ashamed of what she wanted. You can't necessarily help wanting what you want, and liking kink isn't a thing to be ashamed of.

I'm looking forward to seeing what happens.

It can't be over! Lucien and Penny. A give and take "relationship?" Relationship?

Well when a demon shows up in your physical life, and knows your deepest darkest thoughts; your deepest darkest fantasies, the debauchery might be more….. than Penny can take.

Lucien became Penny's longed for muse!

This couple became my escape for hours! I enjoyed each and every hour with them. And, Ms. Brandon, I hope to see them again!!!

I received an advanced reader copy, and this is my honest and voluntary review.

If you’ve read my reviews of Ms. Brandon’s books, you know I love how different her books are from many authors. Yes, they are sexy, and dark (when appropriate), but there is also something that is real about them. Yes this is a story of a demon and a woman, but the psychological drama that happens within Penny and between Penny and Lucien is as real as it gets. It’s just Ms. Brandon weaves it all in a super sexy, seductive, angsty story that is set in a fantastical world we can live in for a few hours. Wonderful read!

A Master

Penny was stuck. Being a romance writer the words wouldn't come. She had been writing but could not get an ending to all her stories. Especially since her boyfriend left her. Penny wallowed in despair and self pity. One day she is taken by a demon named Lucien. He opened up her hedonistic side. At first she resisted but then she gave over to that side of herself. Quite a story.

This book was ok, I got it free on amazon so I thought i’d give it a go. It felt quite repetitive in places and the ending was really lacking. It felt like there wasn’t a lot of progression at all plot wise and you are left with several questions, it almost feels as though the book ended in the middle of their story. Reviews for the other books in the series are more positive so I might give those a go too but overall I wouldn’t read again.

Love the Demons!

Book 3, Curse Me was excellent! Penny being a writer was a great touch, and having her life thrown into chaos was the perfect opportunity for Lucien to be her Demon master. He worked her perfectly and she loved it. Great sex, great story! Looking forward to the next.

Wow these stories in the series keep getting better . I am really enjoying reading about all the interactions between each demon and his submissive. Curse Me is well written with strong characters and lots of hot chemistry. I highly recommend this series and especially this story as well worth getting to read. I can't wait for the next tale in the series. This is my honest opinion.

Ok so mixed reviews the last 2 in the series have been 5 star and this book just didn't do it for me fully. Too repetitive and the HEA was lacking. Smut was superb.
Tropes were heavy BDSM, captivity, kidnapped, demon.
When at her lowest a demon comes along to make her deepest and darkest fantasies come true will break her and building her at the same time.
