Mylas Grey Mystery #2

Two Days Taken

Rate this book
Two days. That's all it's supposed to take.
But when Mylas suddenly discovers the truth, it isn't two days anymore.

Private investigator Mylas Grey is anticipating photographer Whitney Engel's visit to Washington.
He's been planning their itinerary, looking forward to spending time with her, and wondering if the spark between them will ignite into a roaring fire.

He isn't anticipating having to do a favor for Senator Allen.
However, the favor isn't supposed to take more than two days. All he has to do is take a trip up to Baltimore, spend a couple of days investigating a matter for another senator, and then he'll have the rest of the week to entertain Whitney.

But then . . .
He wasn't anticipating having an encounter with a psychopath.
When Mylas realizes the man he's investigating has a dark side to him, and he starts digging into his background a little further, it sets off a series of events that puts his own life, as well as Whitney's, in grave danger.

Which means . . .
He must rely on his faith to overcome the danger.
Mylas is a smart man, a highly skilled investigator, and a man of means. Yet, when he's confronted with a threat he never imagined, he must depend on his fledgling faith or he could lose everything.

Book II in the Mylas Grey Mystery Series is a clean, nail-biting mystery, involving complex personalities, developing relationships, and a man learning about his newfound faith.

I thoroughly enjoyed Two Days Taken by Luana Ehrlich. Mylas was loaned out by Senator Allen to investigate another senator's daughter's boyfriend. He seems to think the boyfriend is only after her money. Mylas' new girlfriend, Whitney comes in town and gets involved in the investigation. This a really good book and I kept me turning the pages until the very end.

Two Days Taken is a great continuation of Mylas' story, and I loved the growth in his faith we can see from the previous book. It was fun getting to see his team again and how well they work, as well as see him struggle with Charlie's new position at work and how that affects the dynamics of the group. Nevertheless, the friendship they'd established in book 1 is still there and comes through when Mylas needs help. I enjoyed that we get to see more of Mylas' relationship with Whitney and how everything is developing between these two, all while he's trying to balance their time together with his side investigation for another senator. There's plenty of intrigue as well as action, and the mystery unfolds at a nice pace.

As with the previous book, the narrator did a great job bringing Mylas, Whitney, and everyone else to life. It's always fun when the same narrator does the whole series, and it's certainly appreciated. The only thing that seemed a bit off was that during the middle, Brock's voice became different than what we'd been used to. Other than that, his pace and tone of voice are perfect for each character (he pulls off everyone really well, be them male or female, young or old), and I loved the effects he added to the conference's scenes, making the use of a microphone sound extra real. :)

Overall, I definitely recommend this audiobook based on both the story and its narrator. There's certainly mystery, action, and a thread of sweet romance to tie it all up, so there's something for every reader in this thrilling ride. Can't wait to follow Mylas' next adventure! ~ 5 stars

What Does He Really Want?
This book is the second in the Mylas Grey, Private Investigator series. This series takes place in the District of Columbia and sometimes visits the home state of Missouri. In this episode, the skills of our main character are on loan to a fellow senator in return for his vote on a Bill. Mylas is tasked with doing a deep dig on a Senator's Daughter's boyfriend because the Senator has a bad feeling about him. Strangely, so does Mylas. The author lays out a very well-plotted story with just enough twists to keep it interesting! This author always writes clean, Christian books. There is no foul language, no sex, no gore, and minimal violence. These books are Faith-filled in a manner that shows you how a newly minted Christian can discover his walk with Christ. It is never overwhelming. I have read the first 2 books and think I will binge on book 3.

As lead investigator for Missouri Senator Davis Allen, Mylas Grey looks into the backgrounds of people nominated for federal judgeships. But as part of a deal with Senator Jackson of Maryland, Allen "loans" Mylas to Jackson temporarily for a challenging inquiry of a more personal nature. Jackson is worried about the motives of Dixon Brock, his daughter's boyfriend, and asks Mylas to spend two days investigating Brock in order to ascertain why Brock is interested in his daughter. Is he just after money?

Mylas is counting on his investigation just taking two days, since he will soon be hosting Whitney Engel for what he hopes will be a weekend of sight-seeing and romance. But the assignment turns out to be more difficult, and Whitney's visit much more complicated, than he had hoped.

I listened to this on Audible. Two Days Taken is the second book in the Mylas Grey Mystery series.

Mylas is loaned out by Senator Allen to investigate another senator's daughter's boyfriend. The senator thinks the boyfriend is only after her money. Mylas' new girlfriend, Whitney comes into town from Columbia, Missouri and joins the investigation.

I liked the twists, turns, and the real motives behind boyfriend’s actions, which I found petty and unhinged. It was great to see how Mylas & his team worked well together, Whitney’s & Mylas’ relationship develop, and his faith grow.

The story kept me engaged until the very end. Looking forward to book 3.

When this book arrived in my Kindle yesterday I had to start it. Then I had obligations for the afternoon & evening so couldn't finish it till 12:30 am. I thought it would go a certain direction but with Ms. Ehrlich's writing, one can never tell till you read to the very end. I was not surprised but very happy I was right throughout the whole story. Ms. Ehrlich is now one of my favorite mystery authors. I can't wait for the next one to see how she develops Mylas & Whitney's relationship. Such an excellent job, Ms. Ehrlich.

3/5 STARS! I'm loving this series. All of the books have had interesting cases, & I like a good Christian Fiction that is not pushy. This is book 2 & I liked seeing Whitney & Mylas together again. Very excited to see how their relationship progresses. This is, of course, intriguing with the bad guy maybe poisioning his fiance & the mystery behind their relationship. Enjoyed all the action & how it ultimately played out. The narration is good & easy to listen to on the audiobook. Just an all around fun series!

The narrator, Steve Twitchell, does an excellent job of engaging the personality of Mylas Grey. Mylas has Whitney coming to DC but Senator Allen want him to a favor for another Senator and it only should take two days. Two days til Whitney gets to Washington. Mylas makes a lot of mistakes in this story, but the one thing that keeps him alive is his newfound faith in God. This story is action-packed and full of unexpected twists, and for heart-stopping minutes everything is on the line.

Like the story, but.......

I've read book one and two in this series....I liked the stories just fine. I enjoy the Christian aspect and these stories are not as long as another series I was reading.
But, in both of these books....the bad guy........just suddenly confesses everything to Mylas Grey when he is caught.........not something many criminals would do.
Otherwise the books are good reading. I'll check out the next one in the series now

Excellent!

You’ve done it again, Luana! How you keep giving us God-honoring mysteries with a hint of romance, I’ll never figure out. But please keep it up! Now I have to wait til Spring for the next installment. Sigh. I’ll try to be patient.

Another, “ I can’t put thus book down!”

The only thing I disliked is I wasn’t ready for it to end! It’s a great book with twists and turns. The characters are interesting and I love how the truth of God is woven within the story.
I have loved each of the Titus Ray books and didn’t know if I would like Mylas as much, but I do! It’s hard waiting for the next one.

Mylas Grey working to solve an attempted murder

Another good story by Luanda Enrich. Mylas is working hard to discover why Brock is trying to poison his girl Lily. Many twists and turns, along with some romance , keeps you reading to see what the conclusion is. Recommended reading.

I didn’t finish this book, in fact, I only listened to about 2 hours of it and got bored. Ive never been interested in physics or archaeology so I didn’t find it enjoyable. The author disappointed me tremendously because I can generally count on her for a good book. I feel she took a few classes recently and decided her readers could just read her textbook.

Just another great book

Who says a book.can’t be great without sex and bad language. Just an older fashioned mystery. Mylas is asked by his boss to investigate a case for another senator. In return, the senator agreed to vote for bill Mylas’ boss was trying to pass. But the investigation leads to trouble and danger to Mylas’ new girlfriend.

Mystery Based in Washington DC.

This is a moving story of mystery and faith. The setting of our nation's capital adds to the excitement of the story, as it pertains to members of Congress. In addition, our main characters become endangered, which turns out to be a test of their faith in Christ.

This one was a good story involving suspense and a mystery. Another senator has Mylas investigate his daughter's boyfriend to see if he is after her money. Whitney visits him so they can see where their new relationship is heading and helps him with the investigation.
Two Days Taken grabbed my attention and kept me turning the pages.

What an excellent mystery/suspense! Mylas, investigator for a senator, is loaned out to another senator who wants to know if his daughter's boyfriend is after her money. It proves not a simple and innocent assignment which threatens to turn deadly. Luana Ehrlich is rapidly becoming one of my favorite authors.

Very entertaining Christian mystery

This is the second book in this series. I love the characters and the way the story is written. This one dragged a little in the middle for me, so I gave it 4 stars instead of 5. The mystery is entertaining and I love the way the Christian faith is portrayed.

Lilly Jackson, in trouble.

Senator Allen trades Myles’s services for a vote. Mylas goes undercover to find out about Senator Jackson’s daughter. He doesn’t like her boyfriend and thinks he is after her money. Very exciting, and is he really after her money or is it deadlier than that?

Well written mystery

I thoroughly enjoyed reading Two Days Taken.

Mylas Grey is an interesting character, and along with the other characters in this book, the story definitely kept my attention.

As usual, Luana brings faith into her book, in a sensitive but forthright way.

I can highly recommend any of Luana’s books.

I’m looking forward to the next one in the series.

A very good mystery and romance in which Mylas Grey's plan to entertain his love interest Whitney gets a little more than derailed when he has to investigate the motive of a senator's daughter's boyfriend - he ends involving Whitney, placing both of them in peril. Very well written -- good description, good dialogue, good characterization, and good plot and suspense.

Can't put it down

This is another winner. It holds your attention too the very end. One thing the author could get improve on is a smoother, more seamless way to remind or catch you up on the previous book in the series.

The Best Laid Plans

Another nail biting story which involves Mylas in Washington, D.C. He is excited as he anticipates a visit from Whitney for her very first time in the D.C. area. However nothing gles according to his well thought out plans.
