This story shows that people should not judge. It doesn't matter whether you belong to the haves or the have nots; anyone can have serious troubles, the type of problems that are unfair to any human being, especially adolescents. It was refreshing to read about a secret society that was more of a family, a support group, rather than a cruel elitist cult/organization. The characters were relatable, and I commend them for their loyalty to their friends. Expect an angsty, slow-burn relationship between the main characters Sugar & Sebastian. There is no cheating. There are a couple of violent sex scenes in this anti-hero, enemies-to-lovers romance.

Sooo I didn't like this... at all. I don't even know how to rate it so no rating for now.
I liked Sebastian better in the previous book, and Sugar was... annoying? I don't even know at this point.
It fell super short considering how much I loved the first book in the series and then the second.
I also read the preview for the next book and safe to say I will not be reading that. I was a little curious to see how the authors were going to redeem Heston, but then I read Georgia's pov, and yep, not even going there. It was bad enough that Heston was such a pos in all the other books, but to have a heroine that is a slut pre-incident but also post (yeah she was traumatized, but what's her excuse before?)
She's a freshman in high school when she sleeps with him (that's like 14-15 years old right?) and she's already slept with idk how many people? (there's at least 5 that she mentions... at 14!!!) Call me old-fashioned but I don't want to read about a heroine like that or a hero that filmed her without consent and then spread that around (which might I add, is one of his lesser sins in the series?)
This is incredibly disappointing because the first book in the series is one of my favorite reads of 2020.

I had such high hopes for Bass, I loved his character from the previous books, but this was a disappointment.
The whole book seemed superficial. It’s a relatively long book, especially for this genre, and the authors had a lot of space to build the characters properly, but it felt like they didn’t even scratch the surface.
No real chemistry between the characters, either. Pity…

Something I'm noticing about this series is that I like the guys more than the girls. I can't say I was much of a fan of Sugar, but I absolutely adored Sebastian. I actually think he's my favorite character in the series so far. I'm a little hesitant to read the next book because it's about Heston, who at this point, seems like a complete pos. I do like Georgia though.

Book three in the Boys of Preston Prep series and still just as angsty as ever. Sebastian and Sugar were a definite surprise, I didn't expect to love them like I did, but I absolutely enjoyed this book. I think one of the things I love most about this series is that the books are thicccc, but at the same time they fly. There's so much going on, and there's so much actual substance, that you get immersed and never even come up for air.
I liked Bass when we had met him previously, he was a hot mess but he was protective of his friends and a character that was easy to love. That didn't change once we were in his head, and I really had a great time learning more about him and his rollercoaster of a home life. He is a born protector and a boy I absolutely wanted to keep safe from literally everything. He is an angel and I will not hear differently.
Sugar was quite the surprise. I didn't even put the pieces together when I started this book that she's mentioned in book 2 of the series, and as soon as I remembered it was like a lightning bolt. Sugar has a lot of TW worthy content in her personal history, so be careful if you read this one and can't handle abuse (physical, mental, emotional, all of it) because she's drowning in it. She's a dichotomy; tough as nails but also super fragile, and I really enjoyed her character. She did grate on me a few times, but considering how damaged she was I let it slide.
This story was a lot. It was emotional, it was full of angst, and it was gripping. Per my kindle, it was 8 hours of reading time, and I'm pretty sure I barely moved the entire 8 hours. Loved Bass, liked Sugar, adored the feral cats, and definitely enjoyed the steam level (and creativity of said scenes!) of this book.

So, I actually didn’t know this was part of a series until I looked through some reviews. It didn’t really matter to me though, as I couldn’t get past 24% anyway.
Sebastian was kinda funny, a bit sarcastic. Too soft for me personally.
Sugar (I don’t want to offend anyone, but it’s a ridiculous name!) just annoyed the absolute hell out of me! Right from the start she’s waving a blade around like no ones business and no one says anything? Then there’s Sebastian, who is scared to get in trouble for calling her out on some dumb stuff in class or whatever? It doesn’t make sense to me.
Also, I thought this was supposed to be a dark, angsty read? I wasn’t getting that impression, but maybe that stuff comes later on in the book?
My rating of this book is based on what I read, not overall. That might not be completely fair, but I think it’s better than nothing at all. 1.5 stars

I live for this series!
Okay, but for real though... I am obsessed with the Boys of Preston Prep! The first two books were absolute hits for me and man, Sebastian Wilcox definitely kept that tradition going hard.
I love, love, love Sebastian. Absolute perfection. Sugar took me a while to connect, but I ended up really adoring her by the end. Their story is full of angst and emotion. It’s a slower burn, but their connection is totally worth it.
Now on to see how Heston is at all redeemable...

I will say it time and time again: I love broken characters. I love seeing them work through their trauma and heartache as much as I love seeing them find love. Yeah, that’s a lot of “love,” but it’s true. Sugar was no exception. She was deeply hurt by her stepfather, only to be accidentally hurt by Sebastian, the main male character, while he was on vacation. However, Sebastian was a sweetheart despite his popularity and tendency to get intro trouble. I adored him. He really took the time to help Sugar heal, simply because he cared about her and wanted to protect her. I mean, of course he wanted to eventually hook up, but he was never creepy about it. He was always respectful, gentle, and caring. He understood Sugar’s need to take things slowly. He got her on a fundamental level. He also appreciated her love of cars and photography. Looks like I found a new book boyfriend!!
Sugar was perfectly flawed. She was carrying around a lot of emotional and physical trauma, but was still open to trying to move forward in a positive manner. I seriously admired her and her willingness to try and get over her aversion to physical touch. Although Sebastian was a contributor in helping her get over her fears, she still had to do the hard work herself. At first, she was extremely defensive, but it quickly became apparent that she acted that way because she had to.
The romance itself was written really well. It wasn’t too rushed or too slow, but just right. Sebastian’s gentle side certainly went really well with his playful, dirty-talking side. I couldn’t get enough. The chemistry was great, but so were the heartfelt, whispered confessions shared between Sugar and Sebastian. I think what really made this book special was the emotional connection between the two main characters. Sure, they had amazing physical chemistry as the book went on, but it was apparent from the beginning that Sugar and Sebastian’s relationship needed to be filled with an impactful, lasting emotional connection. With that in mind, I’d say the whole enemies to lovers theme was perfect.
Although this was technically a high school romance, it didn’t feel like it because the characters attended a private school that had dorms, cafeterias, professors, and other stuff that you’d find on a college campus. Plus, the main characters were 18 and actually acted their age (or even older), so I didn’t find the high school setting weird. Anyway, I have no doubt that I’ll be thinking about these characters and this story for a long time. I’m obsessed.

5 Devil Stars! Wow, what an intense read that was... but so worth it!
Sugar is not your average hearts and flowers kind of girl. She's trying to escape her dark past and has to fight a lot of inner demons. She's a tough girl and the last thing she needs is anyone from her past coming in and messing with her. The minute she walks into Preston Prep a ghost from her past shows up. Sebastian AKA Devil is the ghost, these two have a past and it's a dark one. Sebastian is just trying to navigate his life at school and the last thing he needs is Sugar back in his life. And the book just takes off from there!
The push and pull between Sugar and Sebastian is intense. Touched By the Devil deals with some dark things, so brace yourself as you read. It's packed full of angst, heartbreak and suspense. You will fall for these two and as much as you will hate them you'll love them in the next breath. This series is fantastic!

I didnt like Sebastian much, too many fists and I'm sorry but the guy on the cover looks nothing like the Sebastian you imagine, this guy looks so preppy and his eyebrows are done better than my own. I'm not writng a review for this book exactly but I wanted to give a shoutout to a reviewer with the handle " A. " and I hope they see this one day and realize how disgusted I was to read their review. Slut shaming is fucking horrendous and no one gives a shit if u like georgia or heston or will read their story or not. I personally find the storyline regarding Georgia and Heston interesting and something new and I read it and it was my favourite so please don't listen to reviewers like this and give it a try and form your own opinion!!

Slow start, like all fires. But when it burns, it burns like a wild fire
Not gonna lie, the story was hard for me to get into. Maybe it was a head space kinda thing, because I just got done reading another book an hour before. But it took until page 40 to really get into this book.
It was worth it to stick it out.
The characters are wonderfully thought out. The drama and the plot were on point. The love interests are fire! It's a great dang read.
Just the right amount of story line and the right amount of smut.
Sugar and Bass... Lord have mercy!
I'd love to read a follow up bonus chapter of them in 5 years!

I feel like I said that about Reyn…oh wait, I did. But now I really mean it. I adore Sebastian! This guy who is a totally amazing softie (and loves kittens). He is so misunderstood. You wouldn’t expect him to be this total sweetheart underneath it all…but that’s what he is.
What a great book…as I now work myself up to read about Heston.

Compared to the other books in the series, this one felt mundane. It was safe, except couple of triggers, no OW/OM drama, MCs just fine. Agreeing with most of the other reviews - it was OK, but nothing special.

This was kinda sucker punch. Bass and Sugar are dealing with abusive family members and they keep on fighting. There is couple of things that I would loved to be cleared up for Sugar. It not critical to the story. Still really good.

Forever obsessed with Sebastian! That's all I have to say! Can't believe how these books turned out to be so good! Hope the last one exceeds my expectations as well because this one was perfection!

Book 3 has an enemies to lovers tag, so yes, please.
But no, I stopped reading at about 30%. There is a misunderstanding here - opposite of the real trope, where the boy and the girl hate another, here the girl hates the boy. The boy has a toxic complex, where he digs that. Sure, whatever. They have maybe some chemistry, but nothing I dig. The characters take time to grow. By 30% we are at pg 200 and not much has happened and I did not care. It was also supposed to be a dark book, but I didn't see anything like that in the stars.
I like the writing style, the authors do a good character growth. I would classify it is a lovely mix of elements from Tijan with her tortured heroines, LJ Shen with a bit more sense, because Sebastian is pretty like Hunter. But while Hunter was barely legible because of too much slang and slag, Touched by the Devil captures a perfect golden mean between teenage atmosphere and adult audience legibility. There is also an ongoing thing like in the Devil's Night by Penelope Douglas - the development of a secret society of evil peoples. Ridiculous, I know, but the dark vibe is always in the background and this is what I like. Anyway, what I want to say here is that there is a mix of a lot of elements and it is done very well.
I await book 4 quite eagerly. Some review that was on top said that they dislike the premise of book 4. I disagree, book 4 promises to be a delicious dark fest. I love the promise of Georgia. I want to see how it will develop with bad boy Heston. I put a bet on it, by pre-ordering it.

📸 Sugar Voss is the girl from the other side of the tracks - the scholarship kid - and a girl with more scars than she can count. What could go wrong? Oh - only seeing the one person who drew out all of her trauma demons.
♥️ I truly enjoyed the push and the pull of Bass & Sugar. As much as he gave she gave back ten fold. She made sure he knew that she wasn’t one to mess with. But the moment she ends up in the Wilcox web everything changes. I truly loved seeing their relationship grow - and I loved that the “f*ck it” moment came from the FMC! Normally you see these come from the MMC - but I really enjoyed that it came from her!
📸 The twists and turns to get to this HEA were long - rough - and heart wrenching. Sebastian trying to protect Sugar was hard because how he chooses to protect her can hurt her and ugh it was just beautifully written and finished out! I truly adored this story so much! One of those where you kind of wish you could read it for the first time again!

I have loved this book! I just couldn’t put it down. I thought that A Deal with the Devil (2) was my favourite until I got more of Bass, Sorry Reyn. If you like enemies to lovers type books then you’ll love this.
This book touches on mental health, abuse, anger issues and violence. And it’s my favourite so far.

Sebastian Wilcox is a Devil. Figuring out his own issues and trying to keep his life in balance the last thing he needs is a ghost from his past walking into his school.
These two have so much push and pull. Sometimes you just want to shout and scream at them. Between all the chaos and drama we finally get a HEA that we needed.

Touch-adverse high school senior switches schools to escape violence at home and runs into the hot-headed boy who accidentally punched her during summer vacation. She wants nothing to do with him, but he's determined to make amends and help her heal.
There's a lot of drama and angst packed into this book, but at its core is the extremely sweet and tender relationship between Sebastian (Bass) and Sugar. Sugar is dealing with trauma from her past and was extremely standoffish at the beginning of the book for numerous reasons, but Bass was so patient and gentle with her. Both of them have manipulative/abusive family members so it felt right that they work through their issues together.
The authors did a fantastic job writing Bass's mindset of a teenaged boy who can barely stop thinking with his d*ck. It won't be for everyone, but I thought Bass was hilariously entertaining as an adorably cocky rich pretty boy. It paired well with his protective nature and wanting to spoil Sugar and his female friends with gifts.

This is book 3 in the Boys of Preston Prep by Angeles Lawson and Samantha Rue. I recommend starting with book 1, Devil May Care, or some things will be spoiled for you.
I was not a fan of Sebastian in A Deal With The Devil, but my mind was quickly changed after a few chapters (give it a few chapters, trust me). The beginning was a bit tense and a little dicey, but it's worth it. I thought that my favorite couple would be Reyn and Vandy, but then here came Sebastian Wilcox and Sugar Voss. This book was full of tension and angst!
"Sebastian Wilcox would only hurt me for one reason. To protect me from something else." Even so, it still broke my heart for Sugar.
The emotional growth that Sebastian goes through and the passion that came from Sugar letting him en, even though it was scary made this book top tier. Sebastian taking care of the cats (especially Abby) had my vet tech heart smiling and swooning. I hope we see more of Abby, her kittens, Lucy, and Hades.
I'm not sure that there will be any redeeming Heston. I know he's the MMC in the last book, but nothing short of groveling while crawling across hot coals will make me forgive him.

Each book in the series gets better and better. Hamilton and Reynolds were great but Sebastian is better. We did see Sebastian in previous stories and we saw some of what it was like to be Heston's brother but in this book we find out the whole story. This book has a lot of triggers as it deals with manipulation, abuse both physical and emotional. Heston uses both manipulation and emotional abuse to get Bass to do what he wants not caring if it will hurt Bass or not. When Bass meets Sugar for the first time, it is bad. And then they meet again and Sugar reacts the way you expect but she isn't aware of how much Bass has suffered from their first meeting and how much he wants to make amends. But due to the abuse that she suffered from her stepfather and her first meeting with Bass, she can't be touched. But Bass wants to help her overcome.
This book has so many feels in it but I love the way that they deal with all of their baggage and gets to the other side. Great book. Wish I could give it more stars.

Touched By The Devil is a story filled with all kinds of angst, and at times it was almost too much to be honest. See, I'm one of those readers who can read more than one book in a day, probably because when I'm drawn in & kept in the story, I can totally stay in one place until it's over. That's the one issue I have with this story, the fact that the drama tended to get too much so it was easier to put down, however, not for too long. Sebastian is our tortured soul hero who has some demons which drives him to do what he does. Sugar is a girl with a bad past as well, and her scholarship to Preston Prep gives her the fresh start she desperately craves so she just wants to be left alone. Y'all already know that's not going to happen so let the shenanigans begin. I truly loved Sugar, and just hurt for her so much, while Sebastian took a bit longer but ended up in my heart as well. These two authors took on hard topics which were totally well done at the end of the day, so I'm a bit excited about the next book. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
