Now on the road as an independent journalist, our mission is to investigate what others won’t. Women, kids, the buzz and conspiracies run wild.

But I only deal in facts.

What I find will shock even me, and it all comes back to one thing—one place.

But that won’t steal my focus. Destiny Williams is depending on us, and Boston and I are determined to be the ones who find her. Will we be able to save her life in time? Or will all dark roads lead to the beginning of an undeniable outcome?

Honestly, I think Boston is my favorite possessive-obsessed anti-hero ever.

Heart Lines takes roughly one and a half years after Mastermind. Boston and Anna are in the next stage of their lives. Life, personally and professionally, takes them on the same journey.

I love these two together. Both accept each other for who they truly are and what they hide from the outside world. They move in sync with each other and are inseparable. Of course, Boston won’t let Anna out of his sight. I love how their story evolves from friendship to lovers.

This time around, their story is intertwined with human trafficking. Destiny is our third POV. The author makes the story more realistic. What I mean is there is no falling in love with her captor or forgiveness. It’s a dark and heavy subject. My heart bleeds for her.

Heartlines is well-written, and honestly, I am amazed by the author’s imagination and how she articulates it in her writing.

I can’t wait to soon what is next in the Boston and Anna journey.

Warning there be triggers in this book.
Can be read as a standalone, but I highly recommend you read Never Far, Mad Girl and Master Mind ahead of this.

This book is everything!
I have lived and breathed this book since the moment it hit my device. Not gonna lie, I was a little terrified going into this story because of what happened in Master Mind. Again: If you haven't read the other books leading up to this I highly recommend it so you too feel the same dread I did.

Don't go into this book expecting a super dark read that will leave you wondering “what the f**K was that?” Don’t get me wrong: this book is dark and triggery, but all that fuckedness was used to progress the storyline, and not just used for shock value.

Boston and Anna are the dream team. Two killers brought together and made stronger than ever and ready to take their show on the road. The dialogue and banter between them are what relationship goals are made of. I loved every minute of reading their story. And there are so many surprises in this book that fans of the world A. A. has built will jump up and cheer, but I won't spoil it here you're gonna have to read it to find out.

Heart Lines was fucked up and dark, but also had the lightness you needed to balance it out. For me, this story almost felt like a cleansing after the fucked up torment A. A put us through in Master Mind.

Fuck 5 stars this one gets all the stars! This one is going down as one of my top favorites.

Anna and Boston are back. They have joined forces and are now living their new ‘normal’ and are out to help others. Yes that’s right these two blood hungry, loving psychos are doing good in the community. Their relationship is a slow burn and I just loved seeing a different side to these fantastic characters. The cameos had my heart racing and my excitement was at an all time high. A. A. Dark has out done herself.

Sure this story isn’t super dark and we just know that as the series progresses we will see Anna and Boston shine and do what they love to do.

I don’t give spoilers so if that’s what you’re looking for, sorry, you won’t find them in my words!

But what you will find is this...

Have you ever had someone tell you, as you’re getting into their car, buckle up and hang on?! They kind of have a crazed look on their face and you can’t decided how safe you are with them?
Well this is how I feel every time I pick up one of this author’s books! They are such roller coaster rides at top speeds! This book was no less than everything and more.

Know that you should read the Anna Monroe books and I feel the Whitlock ones as well if you really want to know EVERYTHING!
This book checked all my boxes for an above average read. I read so much that books tend to blur together. Not this one or any that she’s written! I have invested so much of my life around these characters that I swear I see them on the streets! I can’t say much without giving away all the good stuff because there is no fluff in this book! It is hard, dirty, gritty, and satisfying from all angles! You want hardcore alpha, sex pot males? It’s got it! You want intense crazy chemistry? Yep that too! You want a mystery that even I didn’t see coming? Well..best sign up! I got whiplash of the best kind along with my heart hugged by the darkest of desires! If you want to experience completion, READ THIS BOOK!
All the senses were involved in the reading of this book!
I tasted Heaven, I smelled Forever, I heard Winds of Change, I saw Depth, and felt More to come. If you can’t use your senses to read, why do it???
So if A.A. pulled up, told me to jump in, buckle up, and hang on..I’d tell my anxiety to take a back seat because I’m all in!!!

This story knocked me on my ass. It’s brutal, real, and holds nothing back. One of my favorite things is the multiple POVs, which can be a tricky thing to do but the author does so well. Each chapter is a seamless transition that moves the story forward and keeps you begging for more. It gives us such a fuller perspective of what’s going on in an authentic way that drags us under and never lets go. Boston and Anna are already established characters but in this book we get to know them on entirely new levels.

A deliciously dark, mysterious, and raw emotional read that'll carve its mark on you. It's a beautifully crafted bloody and depraved masterpiece with feels that are soul deep. Boston Marks is the obsessive, creepy stalker with homicidal tendencies you didn't know you needed in your life. He made me a drooling, panting, wet mess on the floor. This story put my heart and soul through the ringer. A wild ride that never slowed its pace and had me craving the next page more than my next breath.

“He was broken like me, and perfectly so. With each other we wore our wounds proudly. We didn’t have to hide our sins or evil. It was pure acceptance which is maybe why we held so tightly to each other. What we had was a once-in-a-lifetime relationship. A bond like none other. At least for me.”

I swear AA Dark/Alaska Angelini has this way of making me laugh from a book that’s centered around human trafficking, obsessive psychopaths, and fucking murderers.

Despite the dark nature of this book, the banter and playfulness that Anna and Boston has was hilarious and seriously COUPLE GOALS.
“I’m tempted to invest in a baby leash to connect our wrists together so I don’t lose you.”

I feel like these two are fated mates. Meant to find each other. Meant to be together.
Yes, the book has a storyline of how Anna and Boston’s relationship evolves. From friendship to.. more. (Don’t want to spoil anything) There’s absolute fear from Anna to move forward and it’s totally justified.
How they progress.. i loved it.
These twisted duo are my favorite AA Dark characters right now.

Then we have a third POV. Destiny. She’s part of the underground human trafficking. This is where the triggers start. Nothing happy or good comes from this topic. There is no Stockholm syndrome that nearly every other damn book has. A.A Dark I feel like does a fantastic job with making her story realistic as possible. She doesn’t glorify sex trafficking. She doesn’t have the victim forgive and fall in love with her stalker/capture.
The terror and trauma is there and real. And yes, it’s a dark topic. The emotions are written so well. You feel like you’re Destiny some moments. You grieve for Destiny.

This book was beautifully written. Not every author can do three different POVs without making it confusing. The story flowed really well.

I have so many highlights from this book. Lol. I wish I can share them all!!

I do have to know though!!!! Did Anna ever give Boston butt sex?! And what about that Thanksgiving rematch!!
This girl needs to know!! 😂😂

5 fucking stars!

There are two stories within one story and both are told concurrently, this seems to be this author’s style and it really works well. The two lead characters, Anna and Boston, go in search of answers to a national problem and it’s this investigation into the missing young woman, Destiny, that we learn about as well as the main story.

Boston is extremely obsessed with Anna. He cares for her deeply and his protective nature comes to the fore. Anna is almost a different person since Mad Girl, book 1, where I first met her. She still has many similarities but has been through so much and lost so much yet has come out stronger and more determined.

There is never a dull moment in this book, the drama and action roll on and the excitement level is very high. I love trying to solve puzzles and this is a beauty, and it is a complex one too. The emotions you go through with the characters, especially Destiny, are so poignant because of the incredible way the scenes are described.

This is a dark story about the evilness in our world, about suspense and the thrill of the chase, and about love. It comes in non conventional ways that are beautiful too. It’s about hope and fighting for what is right as well.

~Heart Lines~ The Chronicles of Anna Monroe & Boston Mark's(Book4)~ A.A. Dark/Alaska Angelini~

~“Annalise: your other self. And me: Boston. Our hearts are the same. See the heart line that connects us? That’s where ours will end. I love every part of you. The good. The bad.”~

🖤A.A. Dark has done it again!! I came into this book a sobbing mess after I finished Mastermind, and although I still hurt from Mastermind, this book healed me a little bit. This book picks up where Mastermind left off, bringing you into the life of 2 broken souls trying to heal from losing the love of both of their lives. The way A.A. writes makes you feel the emotions that Anna and Boston are feeling, so be prepared to sob with them and heal with them as you read through this story. Anna & Bostons' main goal in life is to help people who need to be helped when no one else will listen. Oh, and did I mention that the Whitlocks make and appearance in this book 👀.... It was so good seeing Everleigh and Bram again, and it felt so healing watching Anna and Everleigh connect about the trauma they shared. I'm so excited to jump into the next book🖤

~As always happy reading~

I was hesitant to go into this book since the previous book in the series gutted me. I'm literally still not over it more than a year later. But I LOVE AA Dark's work, so I made myself... and it was everything I needed.

Although it was dark and emotional, it was also cathartic after the emotional trauma of Mastermind.
I'd forgotten how much I loved Boston Marks and Anna Monroe, but in Heart Lines, they were at their best.

This book can be read as a stand-alone, but I implore you to start at the beginning with Mad Girl and work your way to Heart Lines. You won't be sorry.

5 stars for Heart Lines and its author AA Dark.

Wow, wow, wow. Heart Lines isn't what I was expecting after reading Mastermind however I'm happy with the story. Anna and Boston are two of my favorite characters by this author and I'm happy they've found each other.
Anna and Boston decide to chase a story involving possible human trafficking which is truly the heart of this story. The budding romance between Anna and Boston is secondary but just as present. I love these two together. Their chemistry is off the charts.
I love the little surprises in the plot, I love that the story is told in a few different POV's, Boston is HOT, and Anna is a bad mamajamma.
I can't wait to see what else happens in books to come with Anna and Boston.
I read an arc and willingly posted my review.

Wow just when I thought the crossover of two series couldn't get better, the author threw in a third.
It's actually really hard to come up with something much to say about this book as long time readers of this author should have the right to experience this journey first hand. So I'll just say that it it was nice seeing old and also new firm favourite characters come together within these pages.

Boston's personality got to me at times within this book, but I kinda got where he was coming from but still there's no rush!! *face palm*.

It hasn't been mentioned I don't think, but I hope this wasn't the last we see of them, as I would love to know how their new venture turns out.

This dark and gritty read is definitely a must click.

I'M PRACTICALLY DANCING OVER HOW GOOD THIS BOOK IS!

This book was so worth the wait! Everything you want from an extremely dark book. There were some really big, thrilling surprises for anyone who is a fan of A. A. Dark books. I was thrilled with the turn the characters took in this book. Beside the story, the very real problem we face in our world is shown in a very realistic way, with it's dark gritty underbelly. I can't recommend this book enough! I suggest reading the books in order, it's not necessary, but it will give you the full experience of the characters background. Brilliant book!

Another dark trip into the lives of Anna and Boston. If you haven’t read previous books, I highly recommend that you do. This is a twisted romp down a dark romantic physiological mystery with two familiar characters and a host of other characters from the mind of one of my favorite writers. The background story I shan’t divulge, but it’s not for the weak. Read at your own risk, you may bite your nails off.

I expected to see avenging killers in action and only got a glimpse of them. It could have been as good a book as the previous ones (only here the bad guys would suffer and what a treat that would have been) and it fell short of the mark.

Heart Lines by A. A. Dark is the crossover book that I've been longing for. Fans of Anna Monroe (Mad Girl) and Boston Marks (Never Far) will enjoy this new installment. A. A. Dark put these two characters together in Master Mind where their worlds collided. But now A.A. Dark has put them together where they are now living together, working together and now they're getting more deep as they try to solve a case on a missing woman named Destiny.

The story of Heart Lines focuses on Anna and Boston's investigation and trying to find Destiny before it is too late. With multiple POVs, this story is constantly moving and the intensity of the situations continue to build as you get to each chapter. I love Anna and Boston, all the chapters that they are together. They're relationship is what I am here for. However, the chapters with Destiny held me riveted.

A.A. Dark knows how to keep readers enthralled and on the edge of their seats. Heart Lines is raw, dark, and gritty. A. A. Dark also throws in surprises that you don't want to miss. Overall, I recommend Heart Lines and can't wait to see what more the author has in store for Anna and Boston!

WOW JUST WOW

Anna and Boston are back and OMG they are back with a bang.
I was so excited when I heard that this book was coming and could not wait to jump in. This can be read as a stand alone, but I highly recommend that you read Mad Girl (Anna's story) and Never Far (Boston's story). Besides being fantastic books it will give you the full picture of the charters.

The story is dark, gritty and no holds barred, that has Anna and Boston trying to get answers regarding Destiny.
Its a story that is not for the faint of heart since its as brutal as it is wonderful. I hope this is not the last we see this fabulous couple.

I loved how there was more of Anna Monroe and Boston Marks. They are definitely an amazing duo. They do more than follow the facts. Anna and Boston kill the evil that is lurking. I'm curious about other characters which were mentioned throughout the story. I want more adventures. I want Anna and Boston to dig up the facts and expose what is evil.

I am so addicted!

I love this series! I am so glad that the trafficking pandemic that is happening all over the world is being addressed and made aware in these books. It's so scary to realize that these things are being done. More needs to be done about this issue. To know that people in high positions are involved in things like this and nothing is being done about it is truly terrifying. Thank you for bringing this to light! ❤

Talk about dark! This book was a bit more then dark and totally addicting, Anna and Boston are working on a case that is consuming them and the outcome is anyone’s guess. I don’t think there were many moments of this book that didn’t bring me goosebumps and just how raw it was, I was glued to my kindle and am wondering why I haven’t read more from this author but I’m quickly changing that

Five Dark Stars for The Truth with Anna Monroe

Anna and Boston teaming with Everleigh and Bram to rescue Destiny was a delicious, dark and twisted race to uncovering a small corner of The Truth. The story was a page turner that had me laughing and crying; sometimes at the same time. The justice at the end is beautiful but it seems as though AA Dark has only revealed the tip of an iceberg leaving plenty of unexplored connections ready for her future writing. Five stars for Heart Lines and Five Hundred stars for Alaska Angelini. I can't wait to read more 🖤

5⭐ 2🌶️

I’m starting to heal…sort of. No, I am. I’m just changed and that’s okay. My poor heart and my dark besties have been through a lot and after the events of MasterMind, this was a healing balm to my soul. Full of dark, twisted, depraved fuckery yet intertwined with light moments and love, this is exactly what I needed following the events of the last book. The relationship between Boston and Anna was so incredibly perfect and then A.A. Dark throws in some Everleigh and Bram and I’m a happy, happy reader.

Boston may be my very favorite overly possessive and obsessed anti-hero to date. He’s unhinged but in all the very best ways and I can’t get over the dark, morbid humor that comes out of his mouth, as well as the fierce dedication that he shows to Anna. He’s unimaginably supportive and has moments so unexpectedly tender, you almost forget he’s a serial killer.

Anna is as fierce as ever–HELLO car scene…and her face off with Luke? Priceless. A.A. Dark continues to write incredible heroines who are incredibly intelligent, resourceful, and take no shit and I’m so damn here for it. It absolutely devastated me to see Anna struggle with moving forward following the events of MasterMind but watching her work through it and come out the other side even stronger was fantastic.

I absolutely love these two together–the way their friendship evolved into an unyielding love is pure slow-burn perfection and while my heart still aches for their respective pasts, I can’t imagine this story playing out in any other way. Anna and Boston are so in sync and not only accepting, but welcoming, of all the dark and damaged parts of one another. No one else could understand them quite like they do and it warms my pitch black heart. I absolutely adore how neither of them shies away when Braden and Lucy are brought up, both understanding the role they played and will continue to play in each other’s lives.

I really loved the overarching plotline here and how we’ve circled fully back to trafficking and the Whitlocks. Despite reading three full books and three novellas on the topic, it still felt like a fresh take and I’m always amazed at the imaginative world that A.A. Dark creates. It’s raw, real, and gut wrenching but so captivating that I just cannot seem to put these books down. My heart broke for Destiny but I was pleasantly surprised by the outcome once we reached the final page. I really enjoyed how Boston and Anna worked so well together in their professional aspect as well and I can’t wait to see where their next adventure takes them.

A.A. Dark has given me everything I could have wanted in this new chapter in Boston & Anna's lives! I had extremely high hopes and expectations going into this book and she blew them all out of the water! She has somehow found a way to balance the deep, dark, and depraved world her characters live in, with one filled with love, humor, and STEAM. And OMG that Steam is EVERYTHING! Boston Marks is all the delicious parts of every hero and villain that we didn't know we needed, but have been longing for!

I loved every second of this thriller as A.A Dark did another amazing job of making me question everything I think I know and want as I learn more and more about these dark characters. She has a unique way of presenting villains in a story that you can't help but start to fall for and long for redemption for them. Balancing multiple intertwining storylines, switching POV's, and keeping a fast pace makes this 377 page read feel like177page read, leaving you begging for the next book!

I cannot recommend this book enough and I am very impatiently awaiting the next in my new favorite series!

P.s.
I love you X...<3

Heart Lines by A.A. Dark is another deeply emotional, twisted journey into the complicated bond between Anna Monroe and Boston Marks. Their connection continues to be the highlight of the series—raw, dark, obsessive, and somehow still full of heart. I absolutely loved watching their relationship evolve even further in this installment.

That said, the book did feel like it dragged in parts. Some scenes felt repetitive, especially in the middle. There were moments where I just wanted the plot to move, but instead we lingered too long in internal monologues or flashbacks. It didn’t ruin the story, but it did slow it down more than I’d like which is why I am going with 3.5 starts rather than 4 stars.

A.A. Dark doesn’t shy away from trauma, mental illness, or morally gray choices—and Heart Lines delivers all of that in a way that’s emotionally heavy but strangely addicting. If you’re invested in Anna and Boston’s story, this is a must-read. Just be prepared to wade through some slower sections to get to the most impactful moments.
