The lifeblood of the modern world is threatened as a wave of suspicious blackouts and a Twitter-fed face-off between the presidents of the United States and the Russian Federation threaten to escalate into full-scale cyber-warfare, with the power grids of both countries the targets. The Middle East and South America have become proxy battlegrounds in a vicious cycle of threats and counter threats. An unlikely collection of free agents and insiders is press-ganged into working on exit plans, searching for a way out, for scenarios that will de-escalate the threat and allow both sides to save face.
