The Viron Conspiracy

Rate this book
A prominent Chicago law firm is asked to investigate the murder of a rich and powerful client. The murder, complete with grisly photos, had become an Internet and YouTube sensation. The killer was obvious -- and now dead. But the victim's widow doesn't buy the official version and wants to punish the people she believes are really guilty. Her only stipulation: New York private investigator Jake Scarne must take the case.

Scarne is reluctant to get involved – and then he finds out who the widow is!

He travels thousands of miles searching for the truth against a backdrop of strange and deadly incidents around the globe. What starts out as the hunt for a killer soon turns into a race against time to stop a vast conspiracy that threatens the health of millions of people.

Cold War echoes, professional assassins, deranged scientists, deadly plagues, perplexed and frightened health officials, Government spies – the Viron Conspiracy has them all!

But at the core of this wide-ranging thriller is one man’s desire to come to terms with a lost love.

I like these books - Jake Scarne Thrillers. They are a quick read. They do have some romance, and Jake is sometimes a little rough around the edges. You need to read the books. Let me know what you think.

another Jake Scarne thriller

This is a good addition to the series. Even though whodunnit part is not as good as other books in the series, story is well crafted and moves along briskly. End is pretty straightforward and a bit of anti climax but overall good thriller.

I will be reading more of this series!

The author has put good effort into the plot and character development. The few typos I found did nothing to take away from this well-written thriller. This book was a Kindle freebie, however, it kept my interest from start to finish and makes me want to start from the beginning of the series.

Action packed intrigue and a really good yarn.
There are some good strong characters and some nice snarky repartee. Action and intrigue a plenty and an interesting plot.
The denouement seemed a little rushed, but I enjoyed it just the same.
I can definitely recommend this author, his books are never boring! And they are ridiculously cheap! Not that I'm complaining about that, never.

Very good book. I thought the characters were believable. An easy read with plenty to keep you hooked. Although these books can be read as stand alones, they are much more enjoyable and easier to know the characters that are regulars in each book, if you read them in order. Good series, would recommend.
