Okay let me start with saying I hate buying books like this. The website crashed, there are literally thousands of people buying at the same time with haywire system. The publisher should've been more prepared for a big event scale this like. Hopefully this is the last time I encounter such a bad book-buying experience like this.
Anyway, the book itself is considered a high quality, nice editing and interactive enough for parents to read on a chill Sunday afternoon. I believe everyone got their own ways of parenting, and since SM's style has been such a controversy and got criticized by several pediatrics, hence the title.
There are some parenting tips that are basic enough and not at all in-depth. SM just touch base with the basic parenting technique that he believes is right. If you want to read a wholesome parenting book I would recommend you to read 3 Kertas, 3 Krayon, 3 Pensel Warna by Adlil Rajiah instead. Reading SM book felt like incomplete, because it is too simplified and I really felt tak puas. I think he considered a busy parent wouldn't want to read too complex of a book, which is good I guess...
Anyway, boleh la kalau nak beli buku dia, just to understand his way of parenting. I think the biggest applause is how SM patiently answer all those kinda-stupid questions on his Ig again and again without fed up. For that I give you full respect Sir (not much on the book ho ho ho)

Buku parenting yang sangat kontroversi saya rasa. Sebab Dr SMS menggunakan pendekatan yang sangat jarang didedahkan oleh ibu-bapa asia apatahlagi di Malaysia.
Sebagai bapa yang punya banyak sumber (ilmu, pengalaman, kewangan, masa, tenaga dan mental) saya kira Dr SMS all out menggunakan segala sumber yang mereka ada untuk mendidik anak-anak. Satu sisi yang perlu dipuji. Mungkin bagi dirinya, zaman kegemilangannya telah berlalu dan kini tiba masa untuk anak-anaknya pula melalui proses 'pembentukan'.
Jarang bukan kita jumpa bapa berkerjaya seperti ini? Dia boleh pergi jauh dalam karier, boleh lebih maju kedepan dalam apa-apa sahaja bidang jika dia benar-benar fokus pada diri sendiri. Tapi Dr SMS memilih untuk melupakan sebentar tentang dirinya dan fokus kepada individu lain. Dan dalam kes ini individu itu adalah anak-anaknya sendiri. Cuba fikirkan, walaupun individu itu adalah anak kita sendiri, tetapi apa jaminan anak kita kan melakukan sesuatu lebih baik dari kita, khususnya dalam bidang yang kita sendiri pakar dan mahir?
Sebagai ibu, saya rasa gaya parenting Dr SMS memang berada di aras yang tak tercapai saya. Tapi saya suka semangatnya. Ramai ibu bapa yang berkemampuan setara dengan Dr SMS sendiri mungkin memilih untuk tak 'mengorbankan' hidup mereka untuk anak-anak. Semoga anak-anak ini membesar menjadi permata negara, bangsa dan agama sepertimana harapan ibu bapanya, setelah segala usaha dan keringat dilaburkan untuk mereka.
Menanti legasi Al Masrie menyambung kecemerlangan adik beradik Al-Attas di tanah tumpah darahku Malaysia.

A light reading, plenty of pictures and quotes highlighted. Perfect for first time parents or readers who want to learn basic parenting. It is important to note that the tips in the book are for knowledge only as the author shares his experience in raising his kids. The tips are not to be taken word for word and to follow rigorously. Seek advice from professionals.

Alhamdulillah . On 21/8/2020- baby Noah was born. Therefore, me and my husband parenting life have started . 😊🥰😊 .

Being a new parent, there a lot of going on in our mind - on how to be a good parent to our son. At the same time , want the best for our son as well.

We totally feel glad that Dr released his book before we are officially being a parent. Feel grateful as well because we managed to get the book and I’ve finished read it before I delivered my baby . 🥰🥰

I like this quote by Dr : “ My parenting style may not agreeable to many but its certainly my way of parenting believing that it will bring the best in them .”

So, I believe the book not only suitable for a new parent like me . But, it also suitable for every parents that need to get some tips or additional tips in parenting .

For me the book totally worth it to have / read because :
a) It has been written based on Dr sheikh mustaphazar own experienced and research each of his childrens .
b) Consist of 20 chapters : from the early stage of the baby - to the middle stage grow - to the kids growth stage . Each chapters been told , elaborate in details with a simple words that easy to understand .
c) Each chapters also have the “ bubble tips “ which in total there are 30 tips about parenting been shared in the book.
d) There are images, bubble quotes , bubble tips in variety of colours been use which make the reading much more understandable and interesting.😊 So that we can easily re-read it again and again .
e) At the end of every chapter , there is a “ NOTE “ page . You can scribble any points that you need on that page.😊
f) Another interesting one is - in one book there are two version : English and Malay. So, you can read with any of language that you are comfortable with. 😊

I finished this book in just one sitting while my baby was taking his nap. I just read the english part as there's two section of english and malay. I wont bother to read the same things twice 😬
Dr SM shared his own parenting style on his own kids. There's some points that I agreed and disagreed. While I am just a mother for 9 months only, I am amazed on how he is fully involved and giving all out on raising his kids. I am inspired by that surely.
The energy, time and money spend are another thing that not every parents can follow. If I have the privilege like him, there's no doubts that I would also want the best for my children.
Considering all the classes, international schools, extra acitivity, it must have cost some good money. In the meantime, I totally respects his way of raising her kids to excel in every aspects. Who would not want that for their kid, right ?
I am recommending this book for parents who are still wondering parenting styles and methods of raising your children. Or if you're curious of an astronaut, medical doctor, entrepreneur and a motivational speaker parenting style 😊

I finished the book in one sitting. It’s a light and easy read. It is in both English and Malay but I only read it in English. I wouldn’t bother to read it twice. In my opinion, it’d be better if they can publish the book in separate languages so the price of the book will be cheaper. I don’t think RM60+ is affordable for a book. Luckily I was able to borrow it from a friend.
I wouldn’t want to comment more on the content because the title clearly says “MY way of parenting”. It is Dr’s way of parenting and he literally just wrote what he does / has done as a a parent.
I don’t agree with a few advices but I’ll take that with a grain of salt.
However, I really enjoyed the pictures shared in the book. They made me smile :)
Somehow, Dr should have checked properly before printing because there are some grammatical errors in the book.
That being said, I can say this book is just okay. If you do plan to read it, again: take it with a grain of salt.

Buku ni bagus sebab dia ada dwibahasa. Reader boleh pilih nak baca bahasa mana satu. Font dia besar jadi cepat je nak habiskan buku ni. Ada juga diselitkan gambar2 anak2 DR. Best buku ni sbb DR kongsikan tips mcm mane beliau besarkan anak2. Contohnya, dr kecil dh dihantar ke sekolah international dan belajar bahasa lain, contoh Arab dan Mandarin. Boleh lah ikut contoh dan tips2 diberikan utk ibubapa.

The author is a Malaysian astronaut and medical doctor sharing his way of parenting. There are tips as a guideline. Not everybody’s have a previlage to afford sending their kids to classes, schools so please be reminded that this book is more of an autobiography or a journal of the authors in raising his kids.

Not yet married not even have a kid of my own, but i am a teacher, trying to understand a bit about human nature and capibilities, so that i can find the best way to treat my students well and understand their ability to absorbed knowledge better.

I finished it in just a few hours.
The book is engaging with pictures and lots of great tips. Definitely a must read for readily parents, future parents or educators.
