She has found that walking on fire is a great tool for transforming beliefs, and instilling in people a renewed confidence, about handling challenges. It challenges past beliefs, where the person has learnt that fire burns and now takes it head on, and walks on it, without as much as a sting.
I earlier read Priya Kumar’s “I am another you” and “I will go with you” and liked them. While the former is a personal experience narration which was fascinating, the second book is a story with it’s spiritual & messages for personal growth as this one is. “Manhunt” uses an interesting story as the backdrop for the larger messages on integrating ourselves in the larger universal ecosystem to be peace with other life forms & nature.
The setting for the story is the Nagarjuna Tiger Reserve. Sakshi is in-charge of the reserve and faces challenges of poaching, as also corrupt political leaders trying to clear the forest and grab the land. Rahul is a young school going lad who is yet to come to terms with his parents – Nikhil and Naina divorcing. He struggles to get along with Jay who is now married to Naina. Jay and Naina plan a wildlife tour hoping it will be a break and help strengthen their relationship. Rahul is also a technology geek building sophisticated communication devices. There is also Naseer who is a successful businessman who is eager to take the wildlife tour as well. In the reserve is the monk – Bhikkhu who lives sparsely, shares his wisdom graciously and is fully integrated with his natural surroundings. A few villagers have disappeared and some have witnessed a white tiger who they believe is responsible. The white tiger is a strange phenomenon as it does not figure in the official counts and those who have seen it say it is bigger and very different than any of the other 72 tigers accounted for in the reserve. There is also a plot to stage a major event, planned to end in tragedy so that the reserve can be closed, to be followed by a land grab.
The story moves very smoothly. The philosophical musings & talks of the monk Bhikkhu are very insightful and pack a lot of sensible wisdom without coming across as bland sermons. In certain cases though, the author makes only a minimal attempt to make the scenario appear anywhere near authentic (such as the white tiger’s origins and the tech wizardry of Rahul). The writing could be better in parts too.
My rating is probably just a bit liberal but the positive intent and the imaginative story make up for some small glitches. The larger messages on respect for other life forms, integration with nature, introspection, mindfulness and personal growth are important ones and well narrated.
"You can't take anything. You can only give. You can't save anything. You can only create. You can't hold on to things, in doing so, you will be trapped. You can only let go."
Man's insatiable greed for power and money drives him to unimaginable acts, acts that some regret, while others pay for with their lives. The feigned ignorance and outright denial of our true priorities with misplaced purposes, have caught up with us, impacting our daily lives in profound ways. To get out of this quagmire and address what needs fixing, we must all step out of our comfort zones and embark on a journey towards true freedom, in harmony with the neglected bounty of nature. Set against the backdrop of the pristine and majestic Nagarjuna Tiger Reserve, 'Man Hunt' delves into the dire state of our planet and society's failure to prevent its decline due to human negligence. This book takes us through a journey where diverse personalities and their stories intertwine, illustrating the urgent need for change.
"To treat pain as suffering is a symbol of ignorance that humankind binds itself in. It's when you are hurt that your body is the most alive."
'Man Hunt' is an inspirational book meticulously depicting the declining state of our world and the dwindling greenery around us. It has touched some of the core issues like poaching, deforestation, corruption in politics and media and how it impacts the nature, while blending it with a suspensful dramatic storyline. It challenges us to rethink our relationship with the environment and each other, urging a collective effort to restore balance and preserve the beauty of the natural world for future generations. The plots are well thoughtout and strikes a balance between them. We get to see dynamic character sketches as well portraying different sides of our society.
Coming to the writing, the narrative gave me a smooth ride and before I knew it, I was reading the last page. It was fast paced and steady, I just flew through the book. Both the quality and style of writing is excellent. I loved the little anecdotes on life from Bhikku. This has to be by far my favourite book from this author. She never fails to surprise me. Recommended to everyone.
The plot of the book is an assortment of small stories of different people who are, in one way or another, connected to The Nagarjuna Forest Reserve. The most important issue presented is the environmental impact arising from anthropological activities. I loved the character Bhikku his power to stay resilient and face problems was brilliant and of course, he was a monk his teachings and ideologies were brilliant too. There is something in his character that attracts you towards him like some divine power. Also, the best part of the book is that it is soon going to be a Zee 5 web series.
There are many secrets to explore which involve dirty politics, illegal experiments, and murder. This book imparted a distinctive philosophy, something that is needed in a troubled world like ours. This book has a spiritual or stoic vibe which I liked the most. Many characters are parallelly developing in the book. So, a reader has to be attentive without getting confused. The novel in many ways resonates with our day-to-day encounters.
The emotions, the drama, the internal politics, the mental dwelling of a dishonest man, Kumar has left no stone unturned to make the novel more gripping. With each page, you will learn something about human behavior or their greed or nature. Overall this book is very informative and one must read it. Being a non-fiction kind, self-help book, it was brought in front of us with a fiction touch which made it feel rare and different. If you are a person who loves the wild like me, this is the book for you.
Author - Priya Kumar Publisher – Books That Inspire Genre – Fiction, Spiritual and Religious Pages – 295 Year of Publication – 2020 Rating – 4/5
"Let the consequence not be the determinant of your peace. Let the act alone give you the satisfaction you were looking for."
Man Hunt is a book filled with drama, suspense and thrill yet it inspires you to understand the nature and patterns of each and every living organism created by god. The book centres on co existing without harming.
The plot of the book is an assortment of small stories of different people who are, one way or another, connected to The Nagarjuna Forest Reserve. Situated in Telangana, The Nagarjuna Reserve is a home to 72 tigers (allegedly), but it’s not about them. There’s a rumour of a 73rd tiger lurking around the forest, preying on villagers.
"It's funny. We are the most superior species on the planet, and our solution to a problem is to destroy it. That's not being superior. That's being dumb and destructive."
The book shows an extraordinary story of various characters, who represent every aspect of human nature namely love, hate, care and extreme greed.
" Nothing has ever started. And so, nothing has really come to an end."
The story also brings out various bigger issues like deforestation, corruption of Indian Media, malicious political agendas, genetic modification and our responsibility as a concerned humans. This book is a major treat if you are fascinated by wildlife and nature. I do think some parts were stretched out but otherwise the author has done an incredible job with the intricate details and the writing technique full of suspense. She talks about karma, karmic cycle, positivity and many more eye opening spiritual messages.
Also, this book is special for me as it was sent by the author with her own handwritten signature and a beautiful quote that says "Abundance is your inheritance". So if you haven’t picked it up yet, you definitely should!
"If you truly want to feel freedom, you need to step into the wild where the law of the universe is at its glorious best." . The above line is the first line of the novel "Man Hunt" by Priya Kumar. This was so intriguing that I read this book all the way till the end, in no time. . This book is set in a fictional place named - "Nagarjuna Tiger Reserve" where at first we meet a monk named Bhikku and a fierce white tiger (as shown in the cover). We also meet other characters named Rahul who is an extremely passionate professional, Forest Officers – Sakshi and Neil, and other interesting characters who are sure to leave an impact on you. . Personally, I loved the relation, the equation between the tiger and the saint. Honestly that's the motive of the book. God created Man and other animals, so that they coexist together peacefully in the lap of mother nature. But alas, humans are the most selfish race of all because of which they exploit everything for their own materialistic gains. Here in the book, no matter what sort of ruckus the forest reserve is facing and the usual paranoia around the majestic white tiger, Bhikku remains calm and undeterred from his spiritual concentration. . I will refrain myself from telling anything more because I don't want to give out any spoilers of any sort. But be assured that the story is unique with a mesmerizing writing style and is sure to remain with you for a long time. This book imparted a distinctive philosophy, something that is needed in a troubled world like ours. I will be eagerly waiting for the web series which I hope will be a treat to watch.
Premise: There was a safari expedition to Nagarjuna Tiger Reserve, participated by a handful of people, who were to meet a pre-planned mishap. A mysterious monk has made the protected forest his abode, living in harmony with nature, enlightened with truths of the world and this mortal life, whose divinity & guidance a confused Neil seeks regularly. A fearless forest officer bent on her sense of duty, her partner who supports her without overwhelming her with his own opinions and expectations. A corrupt politician who pulls strings of many, into a macabre dance of self-interest and misplaced sense of power. Two fathers who try everything to save their genius son and kindred strangers in peril. A tycoon on the waning phase of life, who finds wisdom after chasing material gains and a sense of importance, some pawns controlled by their desires for personal gain, meeting unexpected ends, and a legendary white tiger who represents goodness at the conjunction of man and nature. The story grew in intensity leading to a shocking climax, and the idea behind human motives and the expression of truths of life added significantly to the spiritual experience.
My review: This is one of those books that has made a lasting impact on my soul, each page filled with thought-provoking perspectives and peals of wisdom. While initially, the build-up was slow in pace, with each character introduced with their own unique backgrounds and dilemmas, which may sound cumbersome to people seeking to read a fast-paced thriller or those in a hurry; this characterization was indeed pivotal in the grand scheme of things. 'Man Hunt' is a meditation on the perspective of individual roles, awareness of our actions and choices that we make while being subjected to different circumstances, and the shift of our preconceived notions of eternity & conscience.
Verdict: The book 'Man Hunt' deserves much more attention, as it covers numerous important aspects of life, the most alarming being the conservation of wildlife and harmony in nature. Additionally, it places us netizens in a powerful position of using the internet and social media to bring important things to public notice, take real action to bring about a change, and have collective responsibility in making the world a better place for all to live in.
Wild-life is an unavoidable attraction that captures the heart of many tourists and leaves them with awestruck experiences. People who love wildlife have a tendency to run behind Mother Nature for seeking the answers to many unsolved mysteries. Set in the Nagarjuna Tiger Reserve, Priya Kumar is back with her latest release- ‘MANHUNT’.
The story is filled with suspense, drama, and divinity which brings to fore issues like deforestation, genetic modification of animals, corruption in media, vested political agendas, and a large environmental impact stemming from our irresponsibility.
The most beautiful part of this story is ought to be the characterization. Priya Kumar has woven a relevant plot with a few characters and blended them into a form of a novel with her skillful writing. There is a monk who is the epitome of sacrifice and believes that destruction does not bring freedom. Then there is the dedicated forest officer who spends almost all her money to keep the wild animals safe. According to her, “There are enough people to care about the 7 billion that swarm this planet, but only a handful of them truly care for nature and its life”. There is a family where the stepfather is trying to reconcile with his stepson. Then there are corrupt journalists, dishonest politicians, and whatnot. It will be a treat to the readers to see how the characters grow and evolve with time.
Kumar’s writing has always been appealing to me. There is a certain vibe of serenity throughout her description. I have read almost 3-4 books by her till now and this is definitely the best for me. The emotions, the drama, the internal politics, the mental dwelling of a dishonest man, Kumar has left no stone unturned to make the novel more gripping. From the very first page, you will be hooked to the story.
Being a genetic engineer myself, I am deeply surprised by the level of research the author has put into the book. Different difficult concepts are used here and they are explained in a very plain way to make it easier for the amateurs. I can’t wait to watch the novel into a series that is going to come soon in Zee5.
This is my first book by Priya Kumar, and the title immediately piqued my curiosity.
"Man Hunt" by Priya Kumar is a gripping story set in the beautiful Nagarjuna Tiger Reserve. The story features a rare white tiger, genetically altered with human genes, and Bhikku, a wise monk deeply connected to the forest. The tiger’s human-like emotions and curiosity create a special bond with Bhikku, showing a deep connection between humans and nature. My favorite character was Bhikku, whose wisdom and dedication to the forest were truly inspiring.
The main themes include deforestation, corruption, and genetic engineering. The narrative is full of suspense as the characters work hard to protect the reserve from political schemes and human greed. Their journey is a fight to save the tiger and the forest.
The storytelling is fast-paced and keeps you hooked until the last page. Priya Kumar’s writing is clear and easy to follow, making complex themes understandable.
Man Hunt is an adventurous and thought-provoking read with important messages about conserving the environment. The mix of drama, mystery, and spiritual lessons makes it a powerful experience. It emphasizes the importance of valuing all life on Earth and the duty humans have to protect the wild.
The book also shows the negative effects of human selfishness and political deceit. It explains how ignoring other life forms can harm our environment and wildlife. Priya Kumar’s portrayal of these issues is both enlightening and inspiring.
This novel can change perspectives, helping readers see their own problems as minor compared to those faced by the characters. It’s a must-read for nature lovers and thrill-seekers, and I guarantee you’ll love both the story and its characters. From my side, it’s an unforgettable read that you’ll really enjoy.

“Man Hunt” is a novel by author Priya Kumar, consisting of 268 pages. In the setting of Nagarjuna Tiger Reserve, here is a story that consists of a deeply intricate and engaging plot that highlights issues like deforestation, genetic modification of animals, corrupt media, and political agenda. The most important issue presented is the environmental impact arising from anthropological activities. Several individuals come together in the story, intricately linked with the forest reserve. Each with their own stories, every character plays an important part in the tale until the conclusion is reached.
With an engaging narration, the author kept my attention hooked to the book until the end. With deep and complex characters, Priya has spun a story that will remain with me for a long time. As I mentioned, several issues have been raised in the book, but apart from them, the raw emotions that have been portrayed in the book are what make the book worth reading.
Proper use of allegory and symbolism sets the book apart from its counterparts. The mystery and suspense have been set very fastidiously. I am deliberately avoiding taking any names of the characters or mentioning any plot of the story. That is because I would like the readers to discover the contents of the book just like I did; without any prior information. The book kept surprising me as I turned page by page. Go ahead and pick up a copy, because the reading experience will be worth it. My rating 4 stars out of 5.
The book that made my heart beat so fast every time I turned a page. I really enjoyed reading it and how I was too scared to turn the page but too curious to read more. This book covered serious topics like deforestation and wild killing with such a beautiful story telling. The book had philosophical things which didn't felt boring but almost like a hug and I was so invested in this book. The book has 4 different stories going on which eventually were meant to be connected at the end. I felt an ache at the turn of events but at the same time was happy that the outcome wasn't as devastating as I thought. The book was equal parts thrilling and equal parts philosophical, as I said the storyline was great and plot was good too. I personally loved the character Bhikku his power to stay resilience and face problems was brilliant and ofcourse he was monk his teachings and ideologies were brilliant too. I wish to meet a person like Bhikku atleast once in my life. I also like Sakshi her character to stay soft in front of her lover and strong in her work was admirable and I wish to become a person like her, she was strong and didn't fear anything. She fought for her beliefs and rights and stood for animal rights. My dilemma of not wanting to turn the page because of the fear of the outcome was really strong but I did because I was curious to see the outcomes and I'm a little heartbroken but at the same time happy. I really enjoyed reading the book and would definitely recommend everyone to read this book. I really loved this book. Definitely recommended.

Man Hunt is a story about the relationship between humans and nature. The story tells us that our actions have severe consequences. Set in Nagarjuna Tiger Reserve, the story introduces Sakshi, the forest officer and she is trying to save the reserve from the political actions. On the other hand, Bhikku is a monk who lives in the jungle with the animals. There is something mysterious about his character, how animals do not harm him and this character is different from the others in the story. Bhikku imparts his knowledge to Neil who works at the tiger reserve. The story revolves around how there are 72 tigers in the reserve, but there is a 73rd white tiger who is roaming in the reserve and no one knows where has it come from. This tiger has killed 15 people so far and it is not an ordinary tiger.
There are also themes of genetic modification in animals, politics, deforestation, and of course the relationship between man and the wild in the story. The author has also given some life lessons and discussed the topic of spirituality in the book through the characters, which was not at all heavy. Although I did not connect much to the characters, but I really liked the flow of the story. The author's writing is very meaningful and the whole story covered a lot of purposes and issues. Man Hunt is definitely an eye-opener that tells the readers to introspect about their lifestyle and actions towards the environment.
It's a fiction but will definitely give you a a realistic feel about the story. The story is setup in Nagarjuna Tiger Reserve, where Bhikku has been portrayed as the central character along with a blue eyed white tiger which is very rare to find. This book will make you wander about your actions and the way you're living before. It will evoke your emotions to it's deepest and will make hunt to find your true inner self.
The book throws light on some serious ongoing issues like deforestation and the conflict between man and wildlife. How human being is dominating and overpowering and misusing the forests because of their materialistic need. It also talks about corruption and political misguidance. Overall this book is very informative and one must definitely read it.
I will definitely recommend this one. I enjoyed reading it. The characters are well sketched. The narration was fast paced and the storyline was engaging. The cover and title is totally apt for it. I'm looking forward to read more books of her.
Priya Kumar's Man Hunt is set in the jungle of the Nagarjuna Tiger Reserve Center in India. As the title suggests, a manhunt ensues after a tiger starts attacking humans. But the man hunt isn’t just it.This book touches on grievous topics such as deforestation, genetic modification of animals, corruption by politicians, and the and the destruction of the planet caused by humans for their own greed.
The hunt isn't for a normal tiger; this one is a white tiger with blue eyes and has human characteristics as a product of genetic transmutation. The author seamlessly blends fiction and nonfiction. Priya’s narrative is descriptive, which takes you through the wildness happening in the book. I like the touch of suspense in the story that makes you flip through the pages to see what happens next. Each character is written beautifully; my favorites would be Tech Savy Rahul and Police Officer Sakshi. Although sometimes I felt the pace was slowed,.
If you crave a story that builds suspense with a backdrop that makes you think, this book might be a perfect pick.
MAN HUNT by Priya Kumar is a comprehending and gripping read. The book is a fictional work that depicts how greedy humans are that they can do anything for their selfishness. The story revolves around a white tiger, who is not in the list of tigers present in the NAGARJUNA TIGER RESERVE and some people who are visiting the reserve and are now going to learn some new life lessons. The rumors are that a white tiger with hypnotic blue eyes is killing people. But is that real? Why is it killing people? If it is not in the records, where did it come from? Behind every answer lies a new question. The story also gives a lot of political insights. How politics plays its role. The story is comprehending. It is beautifully narrated. The language is simple and lucid. The lessons learnt from the story are simple and yet invaluable. With each page you will learn something about human behavior or their greed or about nature. Highly recommended.

Man Hunt is an adventurous and a thrilling read. The story is set in Nagarjuna tiger reserve, home to 73 tigers. But lately some mysterious activities are going on here. A white tiger is spotted in the reserve and no one knows where he came from. While Sakshi is busy in finding out about all illrgat activities going on in reserve, the news broke out that 15 people have been killed by this white tiger. There's something to this tiger,it's not ordinary but more human like. When Every corrupted officials are playing their game to shut down the the reserve, there are people who wants to save it anyhow. There are many secrets to explore which involves the dirty politics, illegal experiments and murder. Get ready to experience the journey of a lifetime. I loved the story, it was very intriguing. It is thrilling and spiritual. Cover and title are very catchy.
This is the first book that I have read by the author Priya Kumar and it is amazing! It is filled with thrill, suspense, drama, philosophy, positivity and motivation. It's been so long since I read a good thriller.
It is a fictional story set in Nagarjuna Tiger Reserve. It starts with Bhikku, a monk and the white tiger. There are 72 tigers in the reserve and they got to know that there is a tiger no 73. It is also said that it is a man-eater. Everyone is hunting for that tiger. Will they find it? If they do, will they kill it?
Most of the people in the story go to the reserve as tourists and they did not expect to be a part of the heroic act in the end. This book discusses topics like deforestation, genetic modification of animals, corruption in media, vested political agendas, and a larger environmental impact stemming from our irresponsibility.
If you are a person who loves the wild like me, this is the book for you. It has characters who are crazy for the wild and would give anything to save it.
Man Hunt by Priya Kumar was a very intriguing book to read. It was a fast paced, exciting book that kept my full attention. This story has the potential to change your perception of wildlife & animals. It was my first book by author and best book I've ever read about animals and man. The centre of the story is a tiger as seen on the cover of the book. Nagarjuna Tiger Reserve which is home to 72 tigers, but the story is about the number 73 which does not exist on record. It is rumoured that 15 villagers are missing and that 73rd tiger has to do with all these missing people. Sakshi, the head of forest department who is more compassionate about animals than humans, knows that there is a lot going on in the forest which is illegal but she doesn't have convincing evidence. Apart from that white tiger and Sakshi there are many more characters in the story which represents every aspect of human being, whether it's a feeling of love, care & protectiveness or a sense of greed to surpass any limit. Among all the characters Bhikku's ( a Buddhist monk) character was more influential for me. There is something in his character that attracts you towards him like some divine power. The story is filled with Suspense, Drama, and Divinity, which brings fore issues like deforestation, genetic modification of animals, corruption in media, vested political agendas and a larger environmental impact stemming from our responsibility. Anyone who loves wildlife and animals will enjoy this book. Happy reading!
Manhunt starts with Neil, a person who works in Nagarjuna Tiger Reserve and is mesmerised and seeks peace by a monk named Bhikkhu, who lives in the jungle without fear of wild animals, his words are soothing and calm and his lesson is worth listening to. Sakshi is the head of the Nagarjuna tiger reserve as a forest office, she always prefers to save an animal before a human. Rahul, an eleven-year-old goes to the forest with his stepfather and mother but he didn't want to go there he wished it with his father Nikhil, but his father manages to convince him and he is in the jungle and updates everything to his father by connecting towers through an invention which he invented to catch signals in no range zones.
There were 72 tigers in the forest but recently they got news of a white tiger, who used to sit near Bhikkhu but never harmed him, it was called Tiger number 73. A politician wants to create a new society by killing the innocents and animals in the forest to fulfil his greed.
Why was the tiger always found near Bhikkhu and what powers did Bhikkhu had on that predator? Tigers are known to hunt but how does this doesn't? Will the politician succeed in his evil mission or will Sakshi be able to save Nagarjuna tiger reserve? What roles did the other play?
This is my first Priya Kumar's book and I'm so happy to get a chance reading this thrilling story with such roller coaster ride journey! Being a non-fiction kind, self-help book, it was brought in front of us by fiction touch which made it feel rare and different. A must-read and recommended.
Want to live the life! Come out from that little box of comfort zone. Be an action taker & proactive instead of excuse maker.
The story starts with Bhikkhu, the fearless monk. Bhikkhu denied to leave the forest, even after he was offered, a high paying job for his livlihood. The Bhikkhu and the White tiger are the center of attraction along with the Nagarjuna tiger reserve station.
It's full of suspense, drama, preaches, life lessons, human deeds, wildlife, politics, media, corruption, ignorance of important things, etc.
Pro's : 1. The way of writing is great. 2. The explanation of valuable life lessons with the helpful of stories. 3. Engaging narration.
This is the only first book of Priya Kumar which I've read. Impressed by both book & Priya Kumar. Recommended : For everyone who likes combination of fiction & non - fiction.
Imagine a dense foliage of the Nagarjuna Tiger Reserve, alive with the secrets of the wild. Priya Kumar's "Man Hunt" beckons you into this untamed realm, where the clash between man and nature unfurls in a thrilling saga of suspense, drama, and spiritual awakening. It's not just a story; it's an invitation to escape the confines of everyday life and dive headfirst into an adventure that will leave you questioning the very essence of humanity.
Alright, so here's the scoop: in the heart of the Nagarjuna Tiger Reserve, there's a new player in town—a mysterious Man Hunter prowling the territory, stirring up all sorts of chaos. Amidst the backdrop of environmental peril and political shenanigans, we meet Neil, a dedicated conservationist, and Bhikku, a wise old monk. Together, they embark on a journey to unravel the mysteries of the reserve and confront the looming threat to both wildlife and humanity. But this isn't just your run-of-the-mill thriller; it's a thought-provoking exploration of our relationship with the natural world and the consequences of our actions.
Let me tell you, Priya Kumar's writing style is like a breath of fresh air in a stuffy room. It's crisp, it's engaging, and it's packed with vivid descriptions that transport you straight into the heart of the tiger reserve. But what really sets it apart is the way she seamlessly weaves in elements of spirituality and philosophy, adding depth and dimension to an already gripping narrative. Trust me, once you start reading, you won't be able to put it down.
Now, let's talk about the characters. From Neil's unwavering dedication to protecting the reserve to Bhikku's sage wisdom, each one is a fully fleshed-out individual with their own quirks and motivations. But beyond that, they also serve as vessels for exploring larger themes like environmental stewardship and moral responsibility. It's like they're holding up a mirror to society, forcing us to confront some uncomfortable truths about our impact on the world around us.
As for the plot, well, let's just say it's a rollercoaster ride from start to finish. With its clever pacing and unexpected twists, "Man Hunt" keeps you on the edge of your seat, eagerly flipping through the pages to see what happens next. And the best part? Even when you think you've got it all figured out, Kumar throws in a curveball that'll leave you reeling. It's storytelling at its finest, folks.
At its core, "Man Hunt" is about more than just a hunt for a mysterious white tiger—it's about our relationship with the natural world and the ripple effects of our actions. Through its exploration of themes like environmental degradation and spiritual awakening, the book challenges us to take a hard look in the mirror and ask ourselves what kind of legacy we want to leave behind. Heavy stuff, I know, but oh-so-important.
Prepare to go on an emotional rollercoaster with this one. From heart-pounding suspense to moments of profound introspection, "Man Hunt" runs the gamut of human emotions. There are times when you'll find yourself holding your breath, desperate to know what happens next, and other times when you'll feel a lump in your throat as you grapple with the weight of the story's underlying themes. It's a wild ride, but oh-so-worth it.
What really sets "Man Hunt" apart is its ability to seamlessly blend genres and tackle weighty topics with grace and sensitivity. Whether you're a die-hard thriller fan or a sucker for a thought-provoking narrative, there's something in this book for everyone. Plus, Kumar's vivid storytelling and attention to detail make the tiger reserve feel like a character in its own right—a living, breathing entity that demands to be reckoned with.
Now, I'd be lying if I said "Man Hunt" was perfect. There are moments where the pacing lags a bit, or where certain plot twists feel a tad predictable. But honestly, those are just minor blips in an otherwise stellar read. And hey, isn't a little predictability part of the fun sometimes?
As someone who's always had a soft spot for nature and all its wonders, "Man Hunt" spoke to me on a deeply personal level. It's a reminder of the beauty and fragility of the world around us, and a call to action for anyone who's ever felt the stirrings of wanderlust in their soul. Plus, who doesn't love a good old-fashioned thriller with a side of spiritual awakening?
So, what's the verdict? "Man Hunt" is a must-read for anyone who's ever felt the pull of the wild or pondered the mysteries of the universe. With its captivating plot, richly drawn characters, and thought-provoking themes, it's a book that'll stay with you long after you've turned the final page. Trust me, you won't regret taking the plunge into the heart of the tiger reserve.

I have always been a huge fan of Priya Kumar mam. Her books deliver the right amount of motivation and inspiration at the exact time I need. I’ve read her previous books and this ‘Man Hunt’ is another masterpiece. It was definitely worth the read.
I was attracted by the cover that featured a white tiger and a monk. It made me wonder what the story would be about. Right from the first page, the story piqued my attention. Each and every character was introduced slowly and the backstory for every character was wonderfully penned. At every stage when a new character was introduced, I thought, ‘why is he coming here and what's his role’ but then in the later stages, as the plot unfolded, they were brought together beautifully.
I loved each and every character, especially the white tiger. It was very hard to hate anyone. The tiger’s background story reveal was really awesome. I just can’t describe in words how much I fell in love with the tiger. Priya mam’s writing is simple and reader-friendly. Infusion of wisdom and motivation through Bhikku’s sermons, made me think twice about myself. They were so deep that I had to read it repeatedly to grasp its meaning. The way how Rahul, Jay, Sakshi, Naseer and Ram worked together at the time of crisis was inspiring.
While reading about the white tiger made me want to have a pet like him. He was so adorable and the majestic aura that he held gave an unexplainable feel, even though it was a fiction. The turn of events at the end was really unexpected. The fate of the white tiger literally made me cry my eyes out. It was disheartening. And Neil’s was unexpected. I liked Neil’s transformation. I would have loved to read more about the white tiger. I wish mam writes another novel with the white tiger.
There was a mysterious aura surrounding Kalu that made me wonder what bigger secret he held. At the end, he seemed like a maniac, still running behind money, while the rest of the gang were a bit spiritually at another level. She has artfully portrayed the political truths and spiritual enlightenment. I was at the edge of my seat while reading the second half of the book. I couldn’t resist myself from completing the book sooner. The plot is fast paced and thrilling. I had to highlight most of the pages to re-read later on.
The exchange between Prabhu and the white tiger was funny to me. Although it was a serious encounter, the scenes that unfolded made me laugh out loud. I enjoyed that part of the story. And, the next bond that was created between Sakshi and the tiger, made me swoon, yearning for something special like that. If I were given the power to enter a fictional world, I’d have chosen to be with the white tiger, even if it was for a few moments.
I would keep going on and on ranting about this book. So, to conclude, I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. There are a lot of take home lessons that need to be implemented in our daily life. I can’t wait to watch the web series that will be out soon.

"Let the consequence not be the determinant of your peace. Let the act alone give you the satisfaction you were looking for." - Priya Kumar Blurb: If you truly want to feel freedom, you need to step into the wild where the law of the universe is at its glorious best. If you really want to feel alive, get out of the four walls of the little point in space you call home and embrace the infinite, immortal truth of who you really are. You cannot know life living in the box of your daily existence. Step out into the planet, step into the wild, and you will come alive. Set in the Nagarjuna Tiger Reserve, the story is filled with Suspense, Drama, and Divinity, which brings fore issues like deforestation, genetic modification of animals, corruption in media, vested political agendas, and a larger environmental impact stemming from our responsibility. Get into the canter for an adventure of a lifetime, through the jungles of India’s most pristine tiger reserve. And as you do, keep your eyes open to the truth about the state of our planet. We were given its custody, and we have polluted it with our greed, ignorance, and misplaced purposes. There is still a way back, there is still a way out to restore our world to the glory it was meant to be. Let’s go. The wild is calling. Review: 'Man Hunt' is the story of how the race to materialism leads to the irony of destruction and pain. The protagonist of the story is Bhikku, Sakshi Neil, and Rahul. Rahul is an innovative youngster. What was a ride that left me to ponder how people can act without thinking things through? The novel in many ways resonates with our day to day encounters. The book make me question ourselves as to what have we transformed into? The once idealistic and nature-loving humanity has resorted to self-pity and greed. How could we stoop so low? Nature is the mother to all and the death bed for the one that needs it. And it is our moral responsibility and social obligation to strike a balance between them both. We keep blaming each other, but the reality is that each one of us is to blame. We just don't recognize what we've done, and even if we do, it's not likely that we accept it. Own up to your actions. That's the only way to live, rather than just survive and let go. This book was beautifully written in simple language and easy to read. It was fun reading the book. And I would highly recommend it
"It's funny. We are the most superior species on the planet, and our solution to a problem is to destroy it. That's not being superior. That's being dumb and destructive." ~ Man Hunt by Priya Kumar This my friend is no ordinay social awareness book. It is beyond that. Filled with action, drama, suspense and the divine spirituality, it tells us the story of genetic modification of animals, deforestation, deep rooted corruption in media and ofcourse heninous political agendas, and how greed of humans leads to the destruction of our environment.
Ok, first of all I wasn't an animal lover, I was always neutral to animals but this book made me love animals and respect them too. I had finished this book in the morning today and since that time I am hung up on this as I usually pick-up the next book with hours of finishing a book.
The writing style is so beautiful that it will touch you to the very core of your heart. The description of the majestically mesmerising blue eyed white tiger is so damn lit that I can't help but imagine having a white tiger as a pet. 🤣
It taught me a lot like a lot as in a lot. The teachings of Bhikku as the story progresses is divine. It has given me goosebumps not only because of the thrill it contains but also because of the despair, anger and happiness I felt while reading this. I never knew that the population of tigers is depleting due to corruption being one of its main reason. This is such a well researched book, I got to learn quite a many new facts. At several places in the book, I actually had to close it and reflect upon life and on the choices I made.
All the characters are so nicely explained. I personally love the character of Sakshi, she's a badass of a woman and such a gentle soul making sacrifices of her personal gains for the animals. I don't even consider it necessary to mention how Bhikku's character was. Duh!! It was absolutely divine and gave out such positive vibes.
I am sure each one of you will enjoy this book. You'll feel a hell lot of emotions while reading this, the most important being pity for the animals. We humans have not left anything alone, misusing animals and the environment for our personal gain, shame on us.
I highly recommend this to all the people who want to read something new apart from thrillers, romance, etc kind of books. I am sure you'll learn a lot from it.
Also, I can't wait for the series to come out on ZEE5, so that I binge watch it in a day. ❣️
