She’s the last human in the galaxy, and no Cygnian can resist a human.
After six long years of hunting, Helios has finally found his prize. She’s a perfectly preserved human from the 21st century. Or not so perfectly preserved—her cryochamber cracks while he’s stealing her, and he’s forced to wake her up.
Her human scent fills his ship, and every cell in his body screams out for him to take hold of her delicate, feminine shape. But she’s worth more than an entire planet, and he knows if he touches her, he’ll never be able to let go.
Just before Kara was hit by a truck, she’d sworn to herself she was done with all of humanity for the next hundred years, especially men. So when she wakes up over 1,000 years in the future in an alien’s arms, it’s like fate is taunting her.
Helios swears he’s going to sell her—that her stay on his ship is temporary. That’s too bad, because his body is cut like a Greek god, and his alien scent is like a drug she doesn’t want to quit. He says he hates humans, but the looks he gives her with those glowing blue eyes tell an entirely different story.
He could take her if he wanted and she couldn’t resist. He claims he just wants the money, but she knows there’s a deeper reason, one that drives him to ignore the most powerful and primal of urges in the galaxy. Will his resolve hold, or will he give in to what his heart truly wants and claim her as his own?
Alien Hunter's Claim is a full-length, standalone alien sci-fi romance. It features a possessive, alpha alien with his human mate. There are no cliffhangers or cheating, and a happily ever after is guaranteed!
NOTE: The previous title of this book was "Claimed by Helios".
Aya Morningstar lives in Denver, where she toils her days away in a drab office. By night, Aya brings to life sizzling characters who will make you squirm.
She writes with a hot cup of Earl Grey and her loyal werecorgi by her side.
I liked this one but I don’t know if I truly loved it. This was my first time reading this authors books and the story seemed interesting. I’m not sure how I truly felt about it though. The ending left me unsatisfied. It’s odd though that the books go backwards in the telling. The first book is from the year 3200 and the second book takes place with the heroines sister in the year 2600... also that sucks that they died in 2020 and 2022... talk about totally shitty luck for the family man. Then to wake in the future and still not be able to see each other and live their lives that’s horrible. The second sister Catherine has no idea I’m assuming what happened to her sister. The older sister (minor spoiler here sorry) sees a statue of her sister from a dead civilization on some other planet from 500 years ago... how horrible is that? That’s a real mood killer right there. I like to think about the bigger picture and yes I like HEA and this isn’t part of that HEA... I don’t care about her getting her man eTc... what about her sister? To be stolen by two different thieves from two different eras to be sold for nefarious reasons just to fall in love with them kinda isn’t a HEA for me. Bummer. I’ll pass on the rest of this series. 3.75⭐️ from me. This killed my mojo
This book starts a new series and touches on a few hot topics, which made it fun to catch this author's spin on it all. I mean the science exists to cryogenically freeze people for future cures, at least in theory. This author took it to the next level with artifacts of those endeavors ending up in the far far future, combined with race-mixing, religious zealotry and xenophobic oppression. All of those things combined made this a story that I had to read. As an added bonus, there was a reluctant love story, espionage, and random violence thrown in to have me reading straight through from beginning to end. The teaser included for the next book has me excited to read the next one too!
Kara comes to an untimely end – but is frozen in case the “future” can cure her. Centuries later she has been “cured” but left in her frozen state. When she becomes a commodity. When her capsule is damaged, she awakens; it is harder to sell a living breathing human than a capsule.
Helios has stolen Kara to save his sister. But the woman inside influences his plans. Loved this new world, the growing relationship and the struggle to do the right thing. Well done!
**I am voluntarily leaving my honest review of this book**
The story was pretty good. Who knows maybe this could really happen in the year 3000? Also too bad the cover doesn't go with the character Helios. I think it would have been better.
Very complex world and political building that could have used more time. But at least I have a better understanding of the world than I did reading Stamir's book first. That one shouldn't be a stand alone when it clearly needs this series to make the most sense.
I started to get uncomfortable with some of the race terms. I think the author is making an overarching point about purity and worlds/races but the fixation on her skin, her pure white skin, her pale human skin... It started to feel like it was missing the point and just creating problematic beauty fixation.
I liked this Hero a lot, I am enjoying these flawed but tough Heros. This heroine was a little more on the TSTL category and with the constant obsession with cheating seemed a lot sometimes. But I enjoyed how the characters flowed with the story.
Really a Fun and Interesting Story OVER 18 READING
At this time Cynians and Humans are neither full blooded but a mix of the two. If you are more human you are considered human same way for the Cynians even a 51/49 mix can decide what you are. In this way your blood decides if you can live on Bastion (the planet for the mostly humans ) or in the prison planet (Theragos where the Cygnians are kept as slaves) Needing something very valuable to get the money to rescue his sister from Badtion. Helios has spent three years following a lead to a collector who possibly has a frozen pure blood humans. After stealing a female(Kara) frozen 1500 years ago, cracking the container so to save her life he must wake her. Humans and Cygnians are drawn to each other if they smell and touch each , but never having met or knowing anyone who has ever met a full blooded human he's not sure it is true. But it is and they are traveling alone together on a spaceship that has now broken down and they must dock in a space habitual to get parts and repair. He must conceal that she is full human when going around any others. They pretend to be married which is funny because they say they don't want to touch. They have a thrilling and funny journey through their travels, freeing his family and friends, discovering that they really love each , and how they end up making a new life with each other and his family and the friends they had made.
Kara's ex cheated on her (in 2020), and Kara doesn't want him, not that the woman who now claims him cares what Kara says, she just wants to take Kara out. An accident later, and the world has changed dramatically when Kara wakes again (the years have flown away from her), and she is stolen by the alien Helios (a Cygnian). Can she find her way? Will Helios and Kara be able to fight their attraction? Helios has his own reasons for stealing Kara, he didn't expect her to wake up and he is keeping secrets from Kara. Will Kara be up for another betrayal? I loved this alien and human romance, it's a fascinating world that they live in, both Kara and Helios were easy to love, but Helios can be a bit stubborn at times.
It's so good to see Aya Morningstar back to writing. I've missed her unique books that she writes. This is a really different type of story and I really enjoyed it. It's nothing like what I've read before. I really liked the premise to the story about a woman frozen in our current time and then revived a thousand years in the future by someone who hates her from the start. She doesn't let it bother her due to her backstory. Anyway, it is a great story line and I look forward to the next in the series.
Kara comes face to face with her cheating ex-boyfriend's obsessed wannabe girlfriend at work, who starts a very public fight that ends with her very public death. Helios is a mostly pure Cygnian who's looking for a big score in order to free his sister from slavery on Bastian, and a hundred percent pure human cryogenically frozen for twelve hundred years will definitely do the job. But during the heist, the tank is damaged and Kara needs to be thawed. Then things REALLY heat up!! Turns out, humans and Cygnians are like catnip to each other. Me-ow!
What a interesting and entertaining read. Definitely not what I expected when I started reading this book. I absolutely loved Helios story I think what held my attention the most was the backstory of it all. Super excited to see what else is in store for this series. Overall a enjoyable and entertaining read and a great start for a new series. I voluntarily read and review this ARC no monetary compensation was received and the opinions I have expressed are my own.
Kara is awoken from cryosleep over one thousand years in the future by an alien that hates her on sight, Helios. Helios wants to use Kara to get the funds to buy back his sister in a time bcc when pure humans no longer exist. They both quickly find that they have a spark between them but fate still tries to.keep them apart in this crazy adventure where Kara and Helios have to fight for their HEA. I freely reviewed this book.
This is my first book by this author and I have to say I very much enjoyed it. The synopsis automatically had me intrigued like waking up a million years into the future is bound to be interesting and it was.
I love the moments between Helios and Kara because they both struggle with the attraction while dealing with thier own issues and yes there is a big misunderstanding along the way, but I am a sucker for a happy ending and this book delivered.
I read the Marauder stories before and this book follows along the same line, only further into the future. Kara is a one hundred percent hu.an that has been accidentally awoken from her cryogenic chamber. Helios meant to take her to sell her for money to rescue his sister. But when she is woken he sees her as someone of flesh and blood. Can he go through with his plot now?
I wouldn't mind reading more like this. It's kinda like a time travel romance but with aliens and cryosleep instead of a wormhole of sorts. I loved the dynamics between characters and how they come together. It was well worth reading and I plan to check out the second book in this series. I was Leary at first. Some alien romances are to cheesy or to forced. This just flows smoothly.
Kara was hit by a truck in 2020 and declared legally dead. She is cryogenically frozen and then she wakes up and sees Helios. It is now the year 3253 and she is the last pure-blooded human, will he be able to resist her? Fast-paced sci-fi read with loads of drama, suspense and great world building. I liked it.
Frozen in the mid 2020 Kara is awakened from cryosleep in 3253. She doesn’t know that aliens came to earth. That humans and aliens could mate and that she is now the most pure human alive.
Helios plans to steal Kara and sell her to pay for rescuing his sister from slavery.
Very good plot and characters but the writing and dialogue seemed off to me.
Loved It? It has everything you want in a romance about aliens with enough action and drama to keep you on your toes? The characters were made for each other and the steamy hot scenes that leaves you saying ahh. A must buy and so ready to read the next book in the series.
I liked the fmc at first, her attitude was non historical but It's like once they got intimate all her brain cells took a hike. I skipped over most of the dialouge and action sequences because honestly wasn't very interesting. Random info thrown in that just confused me and the ending..I was like and... so what. Why the heck is this important
Kara died and was put into a cryogenic state. Meanwhile hundreds of years have passed and she is a rare find, 100% human of which there are none. Helios knows of her and steals her away to use her to get his sister back. More happens than was anticipated. Much more is happening than what I am describing. A revolution is also underway. Will there be a HEA?
I've read two of the books now and wonder where it will go from here 🤔. So much discrimination, but not surprising considering humans are so war like 😣. Totally unique ideas for this series and worth reading 😄. Thanks again Aya, I look forward to seeing where this series goes 🤓.
What would you think or do if you woke up a thousand of so years into the future? Confused is just the beginning of how she feels. Love this author and how she delivers a page turning story. You will not be disappointed.
ARC Review For honest review .Helios a cygnan is looking for a cryochamber that thakios has in his collection. when he see it ,he find Kara from earth that's 100 % human that he was going to resell to get his family back . This story is very interesting and I love how she explains this world .
I liked this book and it was a different take on most alien romances I’ve read because this time the humans were in charge. Unfortunately, they were not very nice people. The resolution to the conflict seemed temporary so I hope there will be more books.
Good growing characters. Good job with world building. A few editing errors. I have never read a book that builds worlds, planets and habitats like this before. So new and weird.
There was plenty of action to keep things moving. I felt very much like Kara, learning all about the new alien world. It was an interesting and different take on how aliens and humans mixed.
I was thinking I was getting bored with most of abduction stories, but this one has fresh new Ideas and a really great satisfactionary read, I literally red it in a day, couldn't put it down!Really made me feel like the first time reading Sci fi romance! Can't wait to read the next one!
