Loren finally meets his old boss, the main reason he and his party are even active in the war between the Kingdom and Empire. Before they can get some answers though, they need to find a weapon to deal with Wrath and then remove her from the battlefield to give the Empire a fighting chance.
What follows is, a rather gritty fantasy story with over-the-top characters and violence, even if the actual action is somewhat limited for this series. While it makes for an enjoyable read, it is a bit light on character development, world building (beyond raising even more questions) or progress in the overall plot.
Still, it makes for a great popcorn read as expected.
