My heart tells me to give into his charm. But my brain forces me to run in the opposite direction. Dax convinced me to join a motorcycle club. It was all fun and games with him until it got serious. I’m in love with Dax. He’s a college professor. Nothing to be suspicious about, right? Wrong. Dax isn’t who he seems. He isn’t just a good guy who sets my soul on fire. He’s got secrets. I should protect my heart and cut off from him. Will he care enough to chase after me?
I like these stories of MC members who are educated and smart. Dax is a college professor about to be tenured in San Diego. But he's another Road Warrior member not Heavy Hogs, and they allow women members, one of which is Lola, a young lady who owns and operates a very successful bakery an hour and a half away from San Diego, 45 minutes from where Dax lives but fairly close to the MC clubhouse. A group from the club stop by the bakery and Lola waits on them, but Dax, a 37-year-old player, ticks her off with his hit on her. The rest of the story is about Dax slowly reforming himself to merit the rejecting Lola!
Book Eight of a Series... Intriguing storyline which features Dax, Professor of Political Science and a regular rider in the Heavy Hogs MC (which is more of a social club for weekly riding and get togethers). His love interest is Lola, owner of a Bakery called Creamy Confection in Long Beach, CA. There’s definitely a mutual attraction but, Dax is notorious for his womanizing ways. This does not sit well with Lola. Is he able to leave his bad boy ways to date Lola? The characters were ok. Not the most empathetic. I had a hard time warming up to Dax because he took no responsibility for the longest time. One tiny thing, since this is a stand alone book, I like all characters/issues neatly tied up at the end. So I wish Dax’s ex girlfriend’ behaviors were addressed in the epilogue. While this book is loosely part of a series, I prefer the other storylines so far. I received this book in an ARC format in exchange for the honest review so I’m leaving the above for your consideration. Peace.
I really like this twist on the usual MC books. Elias Taylor's bikers are well educated, mostly successful in various occupations, compassionate alphas. They really "week end warriors" type bikers, but dedicated to the club, their brothers, and ultimately their women. Lola is a bakery/coffee shoppe owner and a legacy to the MC Dax belongs to. They meet at her shoppe where he tries his usual pick-up lines and they fail with Lola. He tries again, and finally the third time, Lola gives in. They end up at his place, but she leaves early in the am, and worse, she doesn't respond to his texts, calls, or vms. Dax is stunned, no women has resisted him. Lola is a great character, strong, self made, smart and independent, but also skeptical of ax's attention. That's what makes this story unique. Well written, great pace, and some great surprises, another solid read from Elias Taylor. I received an ARC and this is my honest review
Elias Taylor sure has a spectacular Series with the creation of The Heavy Hogs MC.
While this publication is the 8th installment to The Heavy Hogs MC, it can be read as a stand-alone book.
In this wonderfully crafted MC romance, you are introduced to Dax and Lola Rose. They might be two extremely different characters, however, they couldn't be more perfect together. I strongly believe that should you like romance, as well as a man who is determined, and who knows how to win the heart of a strong and independent woman, you will thoroughly enjoy what these pages offer.
I was beyond fortunate to have requested an advanced reader's copy of Dax in exchange for my honest and voluntarily given opinion.
I highly recommend reading this release, as well as this imaginative Series as a whole.
I received this ARC from Bad Boy Updates. I love this series and Dax is no exception! Lola has put everything into her bakery and given up on a social life. Dax isn't your typical college professor. Sure he is secy and handsome, but he also loves riding with his MC when he can. Dax's club makes a stop at her bakery and he is instantly taken with Lola, especially when she rebuffs him! That never happens to him and just makes him more determined to be with her. He has no idea she has ties to the same MC, but when he see her at a ride he can't help but go try to talk to her. I love that Lola makes Dax work for her attention, but when his past comes back everything goes to hell. Great story line and you can't help but love the characters! Great book!
I can't decide how I feel about this book. Lola is a self made entrepreneur. She hasn't really gotten over what her ex did to her. She really pulled herself out of a hole. Dax is a college professor who doesnt appear to have gotten out of tge frat boy stage. Lola did need to not always jump to conclusions and believe all men are scum. Dax takes limited to no responsibility for anything that happens to him or what he does to others. Love changes a man and that is the truth with how he tries to change once he meets Lola. The story flows nicely. And we do get good character development. Again the MC is really secondary to the actual story. This is an honest voluntary review
I enjoyed the way Lola treated Dax. It drove him nuts. He had done the same thing to other women and it kept thinking about her all the time. This is a great storyline. I loved the characters. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book and gave my honest opinion.
OMG I do love a good biker story …. This one is different than I expected but such a great well written tale … I won’t say more because I don’t want to ruin it for anyone ….just grab a copy and begin to read and you’ll soon understand what I’m talking about … enjoy !!!
Book 8 in the series and I truly enjoyed this one all the way through. I felt that the storyline kept me engaged and the way the characters were portrayed was fabulous.
Loved this book. Dax is a college professor and belongs to an Mc and is a playboy until he meets his match in sassy vakery owner lola. Can dax prove he's not a player anymore or is it to late?
