June 6, 2021As a rookie PI, Samantha True has already faced quite a bit of mysteries and cases, but isnt prepared to face the blow so close on the heels of a bad gut feeling. The book starts of with her worrying about the 'PI team', Precious, Toby, Her family and her cop buddy Leo. When AJ, the quarterback she has been working partime for is arrested on charges of Murder, she freezes! Her gut tells her he is innocent but everything that follows shrieks for her to walk away...
Will she? Wont she? Is AJ innocent, or decieving? What happens to the 'team'?
This book is more action and is fast paced. Loved the way the support system around Sam closes in to be there for her.
I truly loved this series...Hope there are more books to come.

Samantha's trying at this PI gig and she's well aware of her shortcomings when it comes to investigating. She's also terrified she's going to get one of her friends hurt and that hobbles her a little. So when AJ asks for her help, she sort of freezes up. Which isn't to say she doesn't try to help him, but she stumbles along blindly at times and doubts herself a lot.
But Sam's also dogged. So after a pep talk or two from Precious, she starts moving in the right direction. She has a solid team and a good gut instinct, but the people she's up against are...well, (a) they're not nice people and (b) they have a vested interest in making sure she doesn't turn up any connection between the murder and them.
As you can imagine, things get a little dangerous for our budding PI.
Like I said, though, she has a solid crew and a desire to not end up dead. Which goes a long way in making her push forward past dead-ends and threats.
I'm 100% not sure how I feel about the potential for the mystery person that keeps popping up. Sam's still gun-shy after uncovering all the lies she was told and...I DON'T KNOW HOW I FEEL. I'm firmly on the team of the stoic police detective who keeps dragging Sam out of danger and I want to see how that plays out. Also, I'd like to meet Hue more than just in passing, but that's another story for another day.

Samantha True and her Motley crew is back for another adventure. I think by now all her body parts have been bruised or broken because the girl cannot stay out of trouble😞. T once again I guess the culprit 1/2, way through the minute she handed over her phone 🤦🏾♀️🤦🏾♀️ but it was fun watching Samantha,Leo,Precious, and Toby try to solve the mystery and rescue AJ.
The mystery sightings of Carson continues, but I just need that resolved so Sam and Leo can become a couple already. Overall, this cozy mystery series is a lively distraction between my other reading. 4.5 stars.

Sam True is back with her friends searching for the truth as they try to figure out who Killed the beloved quarterback of their football team. It was twisted and funny and entertaining as Sam is faced with solving the hardest crime to date. I loved it and was biting my fingers to try and figure out who and why. Just a a great story. I honestly loved it as it was fun to read and kept me guessing and had hilarious scenes and of course lots of danger.

Really good plot! I enjoyed working it out along with my favorite characters. The darkest of the audiobooks in this series but still had some lighthearted moments and I enjoyed meeting AJ, TRoy and Simon. Looking forward to the next in series. Hope Jennifer Stoneking will continue to elevate my enjoyment of these books with her excellent narration. Now let’s get “Two Time Loser” into audiobook format and available on Hoopla!

3.85⭐️ Caught Off Guard, another Samantha True mystery novel, is a hilarious and heart pounding escaped of finding out why second string quartet back AJ Gunn, and Samantha’s friend, is accused of killing the star quarterback. Author Kristi Rose always brings the fun and writes interesting stories to keep you guessing until the very end.

I love this series so much! The group of friends are so amazing and I love reading all they do for each other! I really need Sam and Leo to figure it out already!! Those two belong together. This book kept me on my toes. Is Carson really dead?!?! Gah!

Not too good.
Good story line but characters are silly. Too much concentration on Sam’s fears and insecurities and self congratulation on overcoming events. Precious is especially nauseating with her silly catch phrase. Had to make myself keep reading.

Captivated
This is truly one of the best series I have read in a long time. Fun characters , mystery and thrills that never lag. It consumed me and I cannot wait for more! Excellent!
