After nearly 18 years of living in an altered history, Vanessa Marshall, and her twin sister Annabella, jump through time to the year 1949. While living under their great-great grandmother’s roof they are given strict instructions not to cross paths with the Davenport boy. While living 70 years in the past they read through journal entries written by their mother, and find out just how intertwined their lives are with the boy who changed their history. Against the laws of Luna the girls stay put longer than allowed while they search for the place they truly belong.
If I'm being completely honest, I didn't see any possible way after the last book's ending that this could end happily for everyone. And yet, somehow, it did.
After the adventures of the last two books, Warren went back to his life in 1949, and waited his whole life to change history. He made and completed a complicated plan, starting with keeping Gina with her two twin daughters, and ending with using his knowledge of Luna's secrets to find a way for everyone to end happily ever after. After Vanessa and Annabelle had lived through their changed childhood with their mother, they jumped off the dock again, this time together. Now, back in 1949, it is time for Wren and Nessa to fall back in love, and Annabelle to find peace in her life. The girls have been given a second chance, and now, it is time to decide where they belong.
This book was the perfect ending to this series in so many ways. It was beautifully written, and we got to see the girl's changed personalities after living their lives together. I feel like these characters waited so long for their happily ever after's, but, in the end, it was worth the wait. I'll miss living inside On Luna Time through these books, but they will forever live in my heart!
I had really high hopes for this series. It didn't quite live up to them but I still do love the first book.
Things I Liked - Anabella's character and her relationship with Louise - The idea of where the plot went in terms of what happened with history. - Gina's ending
Things I Did Not Like - Vanessa's new character. - Vanessa & Wren's new romance. It had none of the magic of the first book. Happened way too fast because destiny and all they ever did was kiss - The fact that there was no explanation for Anabella's revised personality
Dear Luna is the 3rd and final book of the On Luna Time series. The series follows two families whose lives are intertwined through time travel with love, life, joy and heart break. The story is beautiful, the concept is magical and the writing is very good. The series as a whole makes my heart happy and I very much enjoyed reading it.
Dear Luna was written completely as letters. Given that I finished the previous 2 books several months ago it took me a bit to orientate myself back into the world but once I did I didn’t mind the format. Although it was short this book accomplished everything I would have hoped for as a completion to the series. It is unfair to compare this book to a large fantasy novel or award winning contemporary but based off of feelings it gave me and my enjoyment I am giving it 5*
On Luna Time thrilogy has been one of the best ones I ever read this year. All characters in the books where well-written and interesting to read about. I was completly sold by the time travel concept from the start. I also fell for the love stories between Rin and Vanessa & Herbert and Gina.
Rin and Vanessa's love story was so tragic and beautiful at the same time. Their love story is one of the best I read this year. They truly was ment for each other.
Herbert and Gina's story was sad and tragic from the very start. Since the first time we learned about their story; I really hoped they could be happy together. However, I didn't have a clue how that would happen.
This book (the last one) was a lot different from the two first books in the thirlogy. What Rin did so he one day could be together with Vanessa was amazing. It really changed everything that had happened during this entire series. I truely loved that. However, I must admit, at first I unsure of how the author would wrap this all up. With alternative time-lines as a plot, I think it can be very challenging to get a perfect ending.
Fortunately, in the end, everything turned out well. In my opinion, this ending was satisfying.
Rin and Vanessa was ment to be and I was so excited with them ending up having a beautiful life together with children and grand-children. I'm also glad that Gina and Herbert got their own happily ever after in 2019.

No Luna series would be complete without the whimsical romance, moonlight nights and the undeniable family bonds that weave themselves perfectly through the women in this story. Dear Luna has all of this and more.
Amber’s Luna series has had me captivated and completely invested from the very first page and this third and final book, Dear Luna was the perfect ending to a beautiful story. I have loved following Vanessa as she’s discovered more about the family she’s never known and in this final chapter we get to see the story come full circle. The world is opened up to us from different as well as new eyes, which is a magical twist. If you didn’t feel close to the characters in this story yet, you will after seeing things from their perspective. I can’t say enough good things about this book and I truly couldn’t love it more.
Amber Crawley pulls you into her story in a way that makes her characters come alive and they will speak to your soul in unexpected ways. Get ready to fall in love with a girl named Vanessa, a boy named Wren, a family named Marshall and a town named Port Swan.
I received a complimentary copy of Dear Luna from the author. A review was not required. All opinions expressed are mine alone.
This book was okay. I'm really not a fan of insta-love, and this book has that. I did like the idea that Warren and Vanessa would get there second chance, but I always have trouble with time loops in time travel books.
I didn't like the way Annabella changed in this book. I didn't understand it, and it was never made clear why she was so different and why going back in time instantly changed her.
My biggest complaint about this whole series is that it didn't dig in deep. Everything resolved easily, and there wasn't the emotional struggle that I, personally, would have preferred. Given how "easy" everything felt in this book, I almost would have preferred that things ended after the second book.
This was my least favorite of the three, though it did have a satisfying ending so I'll admit I was ok with that. Like the other two, this was an enjoyable reading experience in terms of entertainment. But a lot of the character development of the past two books was thrown out. The romance honestly fell a little flat and didn't feel "fated," just what was supposed to happen. Like the second one, I struggled with some of the shifting POVs because the voices were not always distinct enough and had to go back and check who was narrating. I did not dislike this book, but it also did not blow me away.
This was fun enough, but the time travel logic still makes no sense. If you travel back in time and make something happen, wouldn't that already have an effect in the present? At least the ending of books 2 and 3 made sense together. Even if book 2 was actually made a huge chunk of the time travel make no sense. Ah well. It was an easy and light read and if you don't really mind if this stuff doesn't make the most sense I would recommend you to give the series a shot.
This is my least favorite of the Luna series. It just felt like it was rushing to be over and wasn’t trying to make sense in the process. I did enjoy the first two very much though. They’re fun, easy reads. This one just didn’t have the same appeal and there was too much back and forth in characters stories for me to enjoy it.
4/5. Such a sweet, satisfying ending to this trilogy. I meant to only read half of it tonight but once I started it, I could not stop. I wish the book were longer so I could savor the love story even more. The second book was not my favorite. However, reading this last book made me appreciate the first and second book so much more. Would recommend to others.
Whit this the Luna saga is ending. I woukd recommend the books for the more romantic people as it's tinkle your soul with melancoly and happiness of the characters.
