Often confused as either a fruit-based linguistic philosophy or a treatment for anal warts, manganese is, in fact, neither. Instead, it is the latest in a long line of singularly uninteresting "silvery metals" that seem to make up most of the universe, if conspicuous in the unshiny nature of the whole affair in toto. Second-string porn player to the Ron Jeremies of the periodic table, manganese is mostly used to prop up other elements and keep them spry.
Did you know that the band Toto has nothing to do with The Wizard of Oz? I did not learn this from this book.
