★★★★★

“Blaze, third in the Burning Moon series, was everything I had hoped for and more. Witty banter and a captivating plot had me flying through the pages. I enjoy hearing both Cole's and Zoey’s perspective. By giving each a voice, I feel this creates intimacy in the characters as well as heightens the anticipation of what is next to come. We find out more about Zoey and her backstory, how she ultimately ends up in Flagstaff, and why she keeps to herself or tries to. A must read book! Prepare to experience all the “feels.”” — READER REVIEW

I'm going to be honest. I got this as an ARC copy in exchange for an honest review having never read any of the other books in the series. That being said, their were obviously some allusions to happenings in past books that I didn't fully understand but the story was so well written that I don't feel like I missed much. Although most relationships had been thoroughly established in the other installments, I felt the sincerity in the characters interactions without feeling like I was lacking anything. The romance between Cole and Zoey is sweet and entirely believable. I appreciate that their connection was intense without being graphic. Overall, I am very happy to have read this book and will now read the previous two and the prequel. Thank you Ms. Close!

What a wonderful addition to the series. They have a connection but she pushes them away. He ex psychotic boyfriend is looking for her and she doesn't want anyone else hurt. Exciting, danger, intrigue, suspense, emotions and much more. I recommend it. I received a review copy and voluntarily review it.

I am a big fan of this author, but this is my first book from this series. It can be read as a standalone, but there are a lot of references and characters that were obviously in the previous books. I wanted to like Cole and Zoey. In fact I did in the beginning. They had a slow, sweet romance that she puts on hold because of issues from her past. What I didn't like were the obvious things that were harbingers of doom- bear that doesn't belong in that part of the country, black bird that is always there, mysterious fires, car accidents and having your house torn apart after nearly being run over outside said house. All these things and more were happening, but these shifters and a witch didn't think anything of it and weren't worried. Even though Zoey claims she is worried and gets a text that scares her, she didn't seem as paranoid as someone who is actually on the run would be. Then when she has physical confirmation that she has been found by her past, she sets a protection spell and gets ready to leave and then...doesn't. When I started the chapter thinking she's going to be on the road and instead she's paralyzed by fear and doesn't leave, I couldn't anymore. The whole story was supposed to be about a strong girl who is doing whatever she can to keep her past at bay, but it felt like that was more in word than in deed. Cole felt clueless and immature and Zoey felt confusing. I don't know if these are there initial personalities that have been shown in the previous books and they make an about face and mature in this one, but I didn't have the patience to read through anymore. I'll stick to the other books by this author and give this series a pass.

So rare and so welcome

If you have been reading Writer R K Close's books, you already know they have powerful plots, potent plot twists, standout characters, and some very moving moments. The pacing is spot on with plenty of high action as well as quiet moments that keep the pages turning.

Plus, there is no erotica--hooray! I am so not into watching -and- so not into stories stunted by sidetracking into erotica.

So, my thanks to R K Close for writing such high quality paranormal literature. It is so rare and so welcome to have a book packed full to overflowing with people, events, and storylines. R K Close is the best kind of writer: she draws us in and keeps us with her writing and storytelling skills.

Happy Reading!

What a good story! Cole and Zoey had a tough time there with trying to find out if they should be together. Dillion was a monster! I loved the brother's and their mates! But just the fact that the wolf's and vampire's were friend's was interesting. I definitely recommend this book!!

I wanted to give it 5 stars but there are timeline issues I couldn’t ignore. It actually made things a bit confusing.

A witch on the run from an ex who also happens to be a warlock and a shifter who isn’t himself. Is it a hex or his inner wolf lashing out at the absence of his mate?

Couldn't put it down

Really enjoyed this one and finding out more about Zoey. The near misses had me on the edge of my seat but the friends win out in the end. Looking forward to the next one.

It wasn’t bad.... it was just boring and meh. Not a lot actually happens and no one connects the dots and it’s just a bunch of back and forth with should they/shouldn’t they.
