A story of spirituality and nature, with excellent artwork, for children to enjoy.
A modern-day myth about a child and his mother, who learn to accept nature and the laws of a world beyond the artificial society of humans. This is a mystical story with beautifully drawn illustrations which are perfect for children. The writing, however, is slightly disjointed and incomplete. I feel that more details about Tideon and his background should be included in the story. There is no indication as to where he comes from, or even when he once lived. I was under the impression that he was from a more primitive society, possibly living on a remote island, but the warship that his militaristic father returns home in appeared to resemble a modern warship. This is an interesting book for children, with inspiring artwork, however, it is best shared with an adult as the meaning behind the story may require some detailed explanations for children.
