Phoenix Reborn Trilogy #2

Whispers of Tomorrow

Rate this book
I can no longer run from my past.

I have hidden in the shadows for centuries. Too scared to defend myself for fear of what might happen.

No more.

My past needs to be put to rest if I am to have a future, no matter how much it hurts.

For the first time in years I have somewhere I want to call home, and with Galen and Killian by my side I know I’m ready to face anything that comes my way.
Yet so many unanswered questions linger in the back of my mind, and the need to run and protect myself from both new and forgotten feelings can’t be easily ignored.

Secrets are revealed and I’m left reeling, my heart and mind in turmoil. What do I do when I realise everything I thought I knew was a lie?

It’s only a matter of time before the sadistic god returns, and I can’t risk losing what has taken me centuries to find. Sooner or later I will have to face him once again.

All I know is that the end is coming for one of us, and next time I don’t intend it to be me.

Book two starts where book one left off and oh boy do we get to see so much into the life of gods and mortals. Raven James has created a story that takes on a life of its own and gives you a heart stopping adventure as you read. I loved the flow of this book, it kept you engaged and slowly revealed plot points as it went. I could feel my heart beat faster as I was reading. The emotions of this book with literally have you smiling, shouting and crying. What a beautiful masterpiece! And that ending.... Ahhh need book 3! Fantastic second book that will have you falling in love with all the characters even deeper than book one. It has so much depth and excitement to have you craving the next book!

A lot happens in a short time in this story full of tension and romance.

I had a good time with this book. It picks up right where book 1 left us. It's full of secrets, schemes, confessions and action. I enjoyed the evolution of Alina : she's gained in confidence while still preserving her vulnerability.

The pace is like a crescendo with an ending I didn't expect. There's a lot more to come. And I'll add that I have no idea what that'll entail. The multiple POVs are both helpful and confusing : I think that's on purpose though ; to keep us from getting the full picture by only giving us bits and pieces of the puzzle.

All characters, events and revelations play a role and with all that happened in this story, I'm antsy to get the finale.

Continuing Alina’s story, Whispers of Tomorrow picks up where we left off in the first book. Things seemed to be a little slow going but not between Alina, Killian and Galen. I loved seeing Alina grow just from the first book and step up. I absolutely can’t stand Vemnos and I couldn’t wait to see Alina hopefully stand up to him. I’m curious to see where things go with Dhysysus. Draythys...ugh she annoyed me. A lot of us know what it’s like to give someone the same advice so many times yet they don’t listen. It’s exhausting! :-) I’m definitely hanging by that ending and need to know what happens! I look forward to reading the next book!

Book two takes off right where book one leaves off, and holy smokes does it jump right into the goods I love Raven ability to pull you in and making you new to know what happens next. I really love the growth we see from Alina and her guys in this book.
Killian is just the sweetest and Galen is Alina’s biggest supporter in this crazy adventure. Vemnos is still a jerk, he makes you want to throat punch him on more than one occasions his day is coming!
The more you read the more you love or hate certain characters. I can’t wait for book three!!

This just keeps getting better and better!

I love how Alina is growing as a character and starting to grow a spine but seriously the hits just keep on coming. This book has everything you could ever want in a fantasy, its compelling, sexy, captivating, heart wrenching, funny and so much more.

The way that Raven has several stories that are intertwind, both past and present, to the main story of Alina's current situation demonstrates her amazing ability as a writer.

Good grief Alina!

My goodness but the poor chick cannot catch a break! This book was sexy and emotional. Truths are revealed and some broke my heart. And just when you think the villain is gone, a worse one steps up. I really, really hope Alina gets her happy ending with all 4 guys.

Who doesn’t love a good Love story with a crazy twist? If you have read Echos of the Past book 1, then I’m sure you have fallen in love with out dear unicorn shifter Galen and who wouldn’t! He is Alinas # 1 cheerleader in making her realize all her potential. Now that Alina finally may have a shot at happiness with her loves it’s all thrown into a major mix at the end! I NEED BOOK 3!

It continues, with book 2 giving you more to love, more to hate (where talking about Vemnos ) Alina is getting her courage to fight for what she wants and loves. The gods are seen more in this one giving us more of an insight to who they are. It has me screaming for book 3.... Like now!!!

This is the second book in the Alina Chronicles.
I don't want to give the book away too much but all I have to say is... holy crap guys! Whispers of tomorrow hit me right in the feels. As soon as I started reading it, I could NOT put it down. I ended up absorbed in the book and finished reading it in a day. I loved all the different points of view in the book as well! Definitely kept me intrigued throughout the book.
I'd have to say as much as I enjoy all of the characters, Galen is my favorite hands down!! His cheeky remarks and bubbly attitude in life despite being stuck as a horse/ unicorn is amazing. As usual, Alina's growth and healing in the book was amazing! She's overcome so much pain and suffering and yet she is still gentle in nature instead of angry and bitter. Killian was adorable, so if you like cute characters, Killian to me matches that perfectly. As usual, Vemnos makes you want to stab him in the eye, but his steamy scenes with Ebris are HOTTT!!
This book ends in a cliffhanger guys!!! I know that may be frustrating for some, but I have to say it is well worth the wait!

This is the second book in the Alina chronicles and wow what a book. Alina has Killian the farmer and Galen her unicorn shifter she has to learn to let them in even though she has been hurt in the pasted. She need to defeat Vemnos can her new found love from Killian and Galen help her.

But then her first true love comes back to her how will she feel after everything he has done even though it was not him as he was controlled by Vemnos can she forgive him for all he has done to her ?

I just love the banter between all three of them but most of all I love the nicknames they have for each other sparky , miggles but my favourite has to be sweetcheeks just love it.

What the hell with the cliffhanger at the end I need the next book to find out what happens next to them all Regina j Robinson has done an amazing story and I love it and can’t wait to fine out what happens next to them all

Alina (FMC), Galen and Killian's relationship grows in book 2 in this series. Its a really lovely and sweet way things develop between all three characters with a little bit of humour dropped throughout by Galen (horse humour who knew?? lol). With vemnos still causing trouble for Alina and her guys throughout this book. Alina tries to tackle her misgivings, his threats and her own nightmares to gain her own strength. To confront him. I just loved the subtlety of love that Alina, Galen and Killian had together. A slow build up of trust, feelings and anything sexual. I think it worked perfectly considering all of the violence Alina had to cope with in book 1 as well as this one. Oh boy that ending though??? Knockout! Just a great read. Dying for book 3

Alina gets some wins

This is the second book in the series and picks up with Alina and her guys figuring out how to continue on when vemos is still after them. I really like the guys in this book I feel like they are such great and complex characters. I still have alittle difficulty connecting with Alina and I'm not quite sure why.

I'm happy to say that Alina gets some wins in this book. I won't spoil it and tell you what. Her wins are not easy and she still takes some losses.

Big decisions were made and I'm sure they will have consequences for everyone...guess we have to wait until book 3 to see

I can’t even begin to tell you how much I love this book! It is absolutely perfect and a fantastic addition to the first. Regina transports you into a whole new world with her original characters and storyline. You will laugh cry and cheer for the characters throughout the book. Alina is fierce and strong and I love her. The multiple points of view help make this book perfect, and that ending! you will want to chase down the Regina for more!

Fantastic Second book in this series!
Alina, Killian and Galen are continuing to find their way, building their relationships. Vemnos is still causing havoc and mayhem while the other Gods and Goddesses are happy to float in the background. This is an amazing read. Brilliant writing and brilliant characters.

Book 2 brings us answers to questions in book 1 but also gives us more questions and more story to read. it flows really well and there is no gap from book 1, it just continues on after we finished book 1.
Ms. Robinson has done an outstanding job with this book.

Whispers of Tomorrow is a good addition to the Alina Chronicles series in that it is heavy on character development. The story is told from multiple POVs which helps get more insight on each character and what makes them tick. I like Alina and the guys in her harem. They are definitely unique characters and very different from one another. I would have liked to see more in terms of story line because a few parts felt repetitive. At least in the beginning. Towards the end the action really ramps up and the ending is unpredictable, which was great. I honestly have no idea where the series will take us and I have a few more questions now than I did when I started this book. That is OK though, I think wherever Alina's journey takes us will definitely be interesting.
