And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains; and said to the mountains and rocks, “Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb: for the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?” Revelation 6:15-17

Accused of domestic terrorism, Emilio Vega was on his way to a Department of Global Security death camp when the mega-quake hit. The streets beneath his transport vehicle buckled, tossing the van in the air like a toy. He survived the crash, but the world is now in ruins. However, for a condemned man, this disaster may be just the lucky break he needed.

Emilio has been left behind!

Six detainees were in the van prior to the quake. However, only Emilio and one other prisoner were still around when he regained consciousness. Emilio searched the surrounding area, but to no avail. The missing prisoners believed in an event called the rapture, when Jesus would collect His saints before raining down unbearable wrath on the planet’s remaining inhabitants.

Can Emilio and Mackenzie survive the gauntlet of destruction known as the Great Tribulation?

Mackenzie Thompson, the other prisoner still present, is convinced that it was the rapture and that they’ve been left behind. She also believes a time of unparalleled torment is about to be poured out upon the earth. Emilio and Mackenzie have a place to go, but it is hundreds of miles away. The roads are unusable, and the two of them are fugitives on the run. If this truly is the Great Tribulation, it’s off to a bad start.

As with all works by Mark Goodwin, this book contains no profanity and no embarrassing sex scenes. However, if you are offended by conservative principles and references to Scripture, this book might not be for you.

Fast pace

This series of books are full of adventure and conflicts. It’s interesting how they go along with scripture with each chapter. Worth the read.

I read the first 3 books of the previous series and this, the first one in the followup series in rapid succession (within a week and a half). These are similar to the Left Behind series and the Thunder of Heaven series, both of which are series with Tim LaHaye as one of the co-authors.

These books by Mark Goodwin are superior in that they use almost everyday-type person/people to provide a fictional account of what it might be like to live through the end of the days of this earth.

Mr Goodwin seems to take a mid-trib stance on his stories, and I am in agreement on this (at least at this time, but it may change as it already has one time). These books were riveting in light of the fact we are nearing the end of surviving 2020, have just finished a United States election which I believe to have been riddled with corrupti0n (and, therefore, without God's intervention they all will be from here on out), and there is a great deal of anxiety about what the new administration will bring. One of the books even mentioned COVID19. Will the immediate future be comprised of something similar to what is described in these books? It is not possible to know, but the books do provide a plausible storyline.

The books were literally unputdownable, and I believe anyone would get entertainment and knowledge (even Bible knowledge as it is sprinkled liberally throughout) by a read of them.

Can hardly wait for the 2nd book in this series which will be out in March. Keep them coming, Mr Goodwin.

I would not recommend this Audible book. About the only positive I have to say is that the story structure was fine, not bad but nothing special. I haven't read any of the authors other books, but I was able to figure out much of what had come before that pertained to this novel. I don't have the same end times views as the author, but I'm familiar enough with the general ideas that I could recognize where he was coming from.

This book desperately needed an editor. Much of the dialog was stilted (not helped by the flat narration of many of the conversations in the audio book); far too many details were provided to make a smoothly flowing narrative, i.e. specific streets were given in Indianapolis, many car makes were unnecessarily provided; obvious details, like pointing with the fingers on the left hand, were included way too often (most pointing is done with fingers, and it doesn't matter which hand is used).

It was also evident early on that the author was into the prepper lifestyle. Lots of specific details about guns; the whole first section of the book being taken up by conversations between the two leads about what items would be good during societal collapse and being on the run from authorities; guerilla tactics. If these don't sound interesting to you, along with the mid-tribulation premillennial eschatology, I would steer clear.

Another action-packed, fast moving thriller......

WOW!!! Once again, Mark Goodwin has written a fast-action packed, thriller which keeps you on the edge of your seat! I completed this book in a few hours as I kept telling myself "one more chapter"!!!

I love the way Mark weaves in Bible Scripture and paints realistic word pictures of people, event's and places with landmarks that are recognizable. I was with Emilio and Mackenzie on the entire trip through Indianapolis and all the way to Mammoth Cave, Kentucky, since I live in Indiana and have traveled the same routes.

Keep the prophecy books coming, Mark.... Your books may be the only Biblical Word some people will read or pay attention to, which warns of the horrible things to come. I realize this book is fictional in characters, but not where God's scriptural Word is concerned. I have studied the Bible and prophecy for over 50 years and enjoy all of Mark's books. I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves God's Word, has an interest in prophecy and wishes to experience a thrilling read while learning.

I look forward to reading the next book in the series and can hardly wait for March 5, 2021...... My calendar is already marked!!!

God bless you,

After

Scary yet fascinating view at the future for those who do not acknowledge God as their Savior, once the Christians have been brought up to heaven . Knowing at once why they are gone and he is not , led Emilio to an immediate conversion, and heart felt regret and misery for not believing when he had so many chances and after he had heard the Gospel over and over for years. A strongly and unapologetic Christian focus is woven throughout this well written exciting new series continuing the story line in Beginning of Sorrows. I think it is a more cohesive story if read after that other excellent series. Highly recommended!

Tribulation

This series picks up after the Rapture. The fight continues where those Left Behind found themselves. Crossing the US mostly on foot, Emilio & MacKenzie make their way "home" to Kentucky, & become acquainted with a larger group & ultimately attack & harass the Global Order. Throughout, they share the Gospel when ever they have people to listen. Very
good story. As with all the "prepper" books I've read, the only negative is the amount of info on the weaponry & fighting. I am a Pre-Trib believer & don't think we'll be here then, so I simply want to read these good stories.

Without a doubt the best!

Every book I read by Mr. Goodwin is, I swear, the best in the genre. Then he writes this exquisite rendering of the tribulation. It goes beyond all others while maintaining excitement throughout. He’s made Emilio and Mackenzie bigger than life. Flawed, normal human beings who grow as they learn more about Jesus and how to apply His truths to their lives. Even incidental characters are drawn so well that it’s easy to see them!
If you’ve read Book of Sorrows you absolutely must read this series!

Overall the book was a fine read. Though the negatives are it feels repetitive. Emilio was a good character. Mackenzie was a great supporting character. the destruction around them is nice. meeting new people who want to take down the global union seems reasonable ha. may be its cuz we didn't really get that much back and forth with them getting updates from the evil side through the radio, or if it did it wasn't as interesting as the last book series ones. Still planning on continuing the series. Just couldn't give a 5/5.

Tribulation, Revolution, Resolution

The stories are fiction but the impact on the reader’s consciousness are real. Mark Goodwin’s books keep me more grounded in my faith, reading the scriptures more. No cursing is something that ALL authors should take to heart.
That being said, I love this first book of this series. The characters are well developed, the plot is solid, and unlike other fiction the situations are most definitely plausible!
Do yourself a favor and explore this Author’s books for yourself.

Keeps you on the edge of your chair!!

Talk about conflict on every page. All of Mark Goodwin's books are hard to put down, but this one is so intense, it's difficult to describe. I'm ready to begin book two and then will be anxiously awaiting book three. I've read all of the series that have been published, so far.
Enjoy and GET READY- Jesus is coming back for His own!!!

Very informative and true to scripture

At first it didn't hold my attention; it seemed to plod. Once the pace picked up, I enjoyed it thoroughly. As a PK (preacher's kid) I'm well versed in end times theology. I found the book to be very accurate. It turned out to be a page turner. If you wish to be better informed about what's to come in the future for this earth and those who have not accepted Jesus Christ as their Savior I highly recommend this book.

Heartstopping excitement

A great continuation after The Beginning of Sorrows which I read previously. The two main characters brought forward into Kingdom of Darkness, Book One: Tribulation, are good character studies of skeptics of God's plans for mankind. The Lord is the Perfect Prepper!

Another great book!

I have really enjoyed reading this book. I like the characters and the story. These are real people caught in the worst time in human history. I don't plan on missing the rapture but how bad will it get before then. Do we really understand the evil that exists in this world? I can't wait for the next book!

Mark Goodwin weaves together an awesome story.

What is happening in America and around the world where kids, and adults are disappearing makes no sense to many unless they now know where they went. The rapture has begun and the many trials have begun. The AntiChrist has shown his ugly head and punishment is starting.

Definitely fiction

Mark tells a good tale both series are well-written and follow a critical path. I won't go into his singular view of religion, but if one reads the books as a comparative to modern culture, you can enjoy the series as a purely enjoyable.

The characters in both series are developed over along period and. Arre

Wow. That’s the only word that describes this book.

As our current circumstances continue to deteriorate, it is downright eerie to read this book. So many similarities. Emilio is faced with the truth of the scriptures in this end times thriller. As he continues to struggle with what he’s lost, he can only keep moving forward.

I must say that "Tribulation" was a good read. I didn't know what to expect as I was searching for a good Christian fiction book (series) to start. I wasn't disappointed. I certainly love how the author uses biblical concepts in application of world events. I'm ready to read the next book in the series.

Page Turner

What I initially thought was lacking ultimately turned out to be unnecessary. The story flows while building on what brought the characters to the point where we are introduced. Take a look around, we are but a few (more) wrong turns from being a character in this storyline.

What version is being quoted? The only time I know which version of the Bible is being quoted is when it deviates from the primary version. I have looked and I can't find where the author says which version he is quoting. Apart from that, I am enjoying the read as much as you can given the context. It's interesting to see how the plot develops and twists and turns.

Book 1

Having read many of Mark's previous books, this is a great continuation on the theme of the end times promised in Revelation. With the theft of the 2020 election, I can forsee many of these events coming.

Great book clean read exciting conclusion two part series to this saga.

This was a good book. I enjoyed reading it although I do know it is just fiction and we do not really know how the events will truly unfold. However it is a high recommend for me. I think it is a good story.

Fantastic book that you will not be able to put down! Certainly an inspired writer and inspired by God. I believe he has his finger his finger on the end times even though he is writing fiction, he is telling his story straight from the Bible so read with care!
