3.5/5 I’m glad that we’ve finally moved away from the “Festival Arc”. I guess the problem I’m having at this point is I want the conflict to start focusing on other Demon Lords again or at the impending destruction that’s implied happens every time the world starts to become more technologically advanced.

Maribel is an interesting villain but a bit boring as the manipulative type. The other problem I have is Rimiru is still all powerful and still hasn’t really suffered any real loss or setbacks.

I still enjoy my time with the characters though and their antics are still enough to pull me through the volumes. I’d just like to see some solid progression.

I know it's weird to say about a power fantasy series like this but I could have done with less dungeon antics and more international politics in this volume.

Other than that it's a solid entry in the series.

Good book. The begin felt like filler with the labyrinth stuff but I appreciated it alot more when they made comments about it later. I felt dissapointed that Yuta is still the villain, I enjoyed the twist that he was being mind controlled but then they did a double twist about it. In these kinds of stories, I usually like seeing MCs that are overpowered and although Rimeru is not the most powerful person here, Rapheal gives me the OP vibe when it comes to intelligence so I feel satisfied. Overall, despite all the extra details, it still felt exactly like the anime with it's pacing. I look forward to going through future books.

Slow start. Interesting middle. Explosive ending. All about this volume just screams interesting. It's one I can hardly put down.

The only thing that has led me to taking this much time reading it is life. We have to live outside this fantasy after all oTL

But this volume is so good. The start was a bit dragging, but it was nice seeing rimuru have fun so all good with that. The middle was rather interesting. It's politics at full display (though really, it's not like this whole series isn't lol). The ending was just pure explosion - both figuratively and literally. It was so good! Loose ends are successfully tied, now pointing to a singular foe.

The emotions this pulls out of you is just astounding! I really like this volume.

I'm not sure when the next volume comes but I sure hope it comes fast! Can't wait for the next ToT

This series is slowly taking a nosedive. Writers need to be careful when writing stories with overpowered characters because there only so many times that the reader will be satisfied with one hit kills.

This series has been building up this confrontation between Rimuru and 'you know who' for so long and what a disappointment that battle was. Not to mention the plot holes concerning Maribel. It's weird to me how the Author keeps building up certain antagonists as these evil geniuses controlling countries and high power councils from the sidelines and then they literally make kindergarten mistakes against Rimuru and get taken down with ease. Maribel showing up in person against a Demonlord was dumb af and out of character with everything they'd built her up to be. The fact that she hadn't calculated the risk at all and just showed up willy nilly to fight was ridiculous. Very similar to Clayman. He was built up to be this genius that had planned to slightest detail how to become a Demonlord, yet somehow didn't think for a second Millim could be pretending. Or that showing up to Walpurgis with no evidence and saying "he did it!!" Like a first grader would be dumb af.

Another recurring issue I'm having is the fact that not only does the author tell us, the readers about the ambush that will happen but also warns Rimuru via Glenda in the story. They'd been foreshadowing since several volumes ago that they wanted ambush him or trick him while exploring that cavern and all tension was obliterated because they warned him about it before he even went in lol.

Also I'm not buying that Raphael just didn't feel like telling Rimuru that Yuki wasn't actually being controlled. And on that topic, this whole thing about certain characters pretending to be controlled is dumb. Millim pretended to be controlled was the dumbest thing because she literally didn't discover any information and could've just killed Clayman in an instant if she was suspicious of him, especially if she's willing to wipe out an entire Animal Kingdom. And similarly to this volume, it just doesn't make an ounce of sense for Yuki to pretend to be controlled by Maribel because if he was strong enough to resist her then he was also strong enough to kill her ages before this conflict and steal her power. The timing makes no sense.

There's also this weird imbalance which is almost becoming a plot hole with Rimuru. Fuse uses Rimurus caution and carefulness as a justification for why he doesn't just hakai his enemies and how he has to consider the political implications and xyz and yet he'll constantly enter combat and just kill the enemy he was wary of for 3 volumes in an instant without a second thought because he "lost his temper". Given his actions it makes no sense for him to just let Yuki go now that he's been suspicious of him for like 5 volumes now and now has evidence. He could literally just go to him and take him out on the spot.

Lastly I'd like to point out that a significant portion of the beginning of this volume was about a dungeon and then making avatars and playing in a dungeon. This was so cringe and didn't move the plot forward at all. The dude Gaiye that they were wary of in the dungeon literally gets erased from existence later so the whole dungeon thing was filler.

One of the best isekai stories ever!

If you have gotten this far you already know, if you found this book first then be aware. Thus isekai, or reborn in another world story follows a guy who dies in our world just to wind up reborn as a slime in another. The story is quick paced without being rushed and manages to convey a lot. The art isn't great but they do help emphasize what is happening at the places they are located. The characters are well designed and seem real, even the temporary side characters that only last a page or two. I honestly give this series a 100 out of 5 stars.

A very interesting read indeed.
I've been very curious about the tensura's story direction after the manga and anime adaptation had finished, so i decided to read the light novels.
This is my first volume that i had read throughly without seeing the manga and anime's interpretation ( at least up to chapter 5 >: ) and it was a fun ride to put it bluntly .

This volume has a good pace telling its story, it develops an already wide world building of tensura in a structural and satisfying ways that still much fun to read.

The highlight of this volume for me is when Rimuru visitted the western nations. It has good story weight and development on how Rimuru would react to the western nations that antagonized monsters and wants to seize and manipulate tempest as an puppet country economically.

However, this volume does had a slightly down moments. For example, i think the character of mariabell rosso after being hyped as this "manipulator" and "puppet master" figure, got an underwhelming end when She was throughly outclassed by Rimuru and killed by Yuuka. We spend too much time on Hyping this girl up and she just get yeeted through the story because plot convinient of Raphael's skills and Yuuka "Greed" ( I still cant grasp on why this man is much more greedfull than mariabell because he just want to rule the world , mustache twiling clichè villain style ).

Overall i would recommend this volume if you just finished reading the manga and very much curious in the story direction in future adaptations.

I feel like the major plot points that move the overall story forward are getting shorter attention as the books go on. That’s not a bad thing, but I’m finding everything leading up to these turning points far more interesting, and have started treating these major turning points as directions on a map (yep, just turned right on ‘oh that happened avenue’)

There is even more dungeon stuff this volume, but I think the best it had to offer was the middle section where Rimuru is attending a ‘hearing’ or his eligibility on the human council. That was a lot of fun and ridiculous and gave a great Shuna moment.

More stuff that was named dropped volumes ago came back again, and it’s fun to see all the small details sprinkled along the journey come together to form meaning in everything that’s leading up to whatever will be the third act of this epic.

If you've never read a light novel before, this is a good place to start. This author really manages to maintain the excitement factor in every volume even when using more than 500 pages to write about one festival. He also manages to keep the flow going at a steady pace despite the changes in perspective and the introduction to multiple new characters. In this volume, the focus is now on Rimuro's battles with the invisible enemies in the Western Council. Some parts are infuriating, others just make you laugh. The intricacies of government politics, religious hypocrisy, and race discrimination are so well layed out here. Despite the main characters being monsters, the sentiments are very human. All in all, a very entertaining and solidly written book.

Maybe a controversial rating, but I really enjoyed this volume, purely for the Milim/Chaos dragon interaction, that actually added a bit of depth to the former as more than just "Oh she's the strongest demon lord yada yada" - Was emotional (perhaps surprising for this series) to read about the lore behind her/Veldanova etc.

The big bad was, although tiresome, had a good relationship with Yuki who acted as a good foil, and although him curbstomping Shion was a bit "eh", was nice to see him in action. Interested to see how the LN develops in its own tangent separate from the WN from here on.

Onwards to the Time travel/Empire arc.

Look, I get that Rimuru is a Gary Stu or a Mary Sue and I don't really mind it that much. Protagonists of isekai story are always Mary Sue anyway, but this is getting annoying. Every fights or problems are resolved without him breaking a sweat. I don't care that he'll beat Yuuki but at the very least he should be tricked by Yuuki for a while so the story is interesting. Instead he knows Yuuki tricked him and now there's no future conflict.

I do admit that this series is simply much better than So I'm a Spider, So What. It has a better writing, worldbuilding, and characters. I was more invested in the characters, even Yuuki (who is an anti hero? villain? idk)

Rimuru is the worst MC ever. But I love the story.

I would prefer Rimuru actually act as if he had a life before coming to this world. I mean the man doesn’t even know the limit of his capabilities yet he “likes video games” didn’t even think to add a tutorial in the dugeon. And he is so pessimistic about every character around him. Minus Rimuru this is by far my fav story. Its that good where the MC can be total trash and I continue to purchase the series, read the manga, watch the anime. What can I say Raphael is amazing.

SOOOO good!!!!!🤤🤓😋

I haven’t read books in a day like this since I was a kid! Excellent read! SOOOOO satisfying!
Pure perfection!
Mystery adventure hijinks following an adorable ensemble cast of beloved characters!
I curled up on my couch and spent my weekend reading a few volumes. I was transported to being a kid watching Saturday Morning Cartoons and Afternoon Specials. When else has wholesome entertainment been so dang captivating and compelling???
Recommended for all the little and BIG kids out there!

It was satisfying when Prince Elrick was given the punishment he deserved and when Rimuru's conditions were met. I got pumped up every time Rimuru engaged in combat and demonstrated why he deserved to be a demon lord at this point. I was taken aback by how powerful Yuuki was, and the fact that he is even stronger now thanks to his new ability Avarice, which he obtained from Maribel, has piqued my interest in what will take place in the subsequent volume. I was looking forward to learning more about what happened in this story.

More of the incredible Rimaru and company! God I love these books, they are so much fun and so interesting every time I pick one up! This one follows the events of the Founder's Festival and the crew from Tempest is working out the kinks in their living dungeon. While this is happening the Western Council is getting together to decide if they are going to let the nation of monsters into their group. While this is all going on, the shadowy organization that is pulling the strings on some of the attacks is raring up for another go at Rimaru. I love it all and can't wait for more!

The Story with this Slime is Always Fun but this volume dragged so long...Festival took almost most of Story before thé dynamic ending.
MariaBell wants beat Rimuru And rules world, Apart from her, Yuki is toying with our Slime, before He engages in Battle with him.
I am looking forward to next volume!

Only 3 more books in the series, therefore it looks like this is the closing act with Yuki as the final mastermind. Although the battle with involve mostly Gai and Chloe, it seems a little underwhelming.

The first chapter is a drag because it only revolves around the dungeon they already talked a lot about in the last novel. After page 100 it gets really interesting again but the first chapter nearly lost me.

It was an interesting story. I've been curious about Maribel, but I didn't expect this ending. . I also enjoyed the nation-building efforts, again, although some things were a stretch and there were multiple plotholes.

Amazing

I honestly can't believe what just happened in this volume. I can't believe Rimuru got fooled once again. I find it strange how easily Rimuru was able to absorb and recreate the dragon.

Awsome storytelling as always

Minor typo: When the anger left her, the sadness came rushing in. I tried to calm her once more, telling [here] there’d be another time.

Super Good

I love this series. I literally couldn't put this book down. That battle with Rimuru and Maribel, then Finish against Yuuki was so good. Let's see what's next for the demon lord.
