Xavier: "I escaped from prison, hauling ass in a stolen car, putting space between me and that barbed wire fence- when the damn thing runs out of gas.
Luckily, I come across an old farmhouse that looks empty, even luckier, it is not. The threats about daddy coming home don't scare me... maybe they should have."
Rayne lives in the Arizona desert, free to leave her house whenever she wants, she chooses not to risk death by sweltering sun demons. Instead, she stays safely indoors with a computer and all the words she knows, slapping them together in any which way she chooses in the moment. Often gory, sometimes erotic. She loves the limitless boundaries of writing, and tends to push them toward extreme.

This one was a short story is about a fiendish man called Xavier, who carves the letter 'X' onto his victims when he's finished with them; he's on the loose after an eight year stretch and tonight he's at it again.
Will tonight be the night of his comeuppance?
This was a straight to the point, disturbing story and written well.
X X X doesn't stand for kisses... believe me! This was Brutal, Disgusting, Disturbing and Horrendous!! But My God was it bloody good...I absolutely loved this book. Incredibly grafic with scenes so well explained you feel like you're in the room watching!! I've read many books by Rayne Havok and they just get better and better. This book won't be every extreme horror fans choice as it does contain many trigger warnings...so please check them out first...this is one hell of a shocker with an unexpected ending...BE WARNED!! It has to be no other than 5 😮😲😱😳🙀 SHOCKING 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟's from me... I'd give it more if I could!
My dudes. For real. Okay so I just literally picked this up, DEVOURED IT, then sat here kinda stunned. Do you like a little brutality with your sex? Well HOW ABOUT A LOT???? Rayne made me: smile, laugh, WTF, grin, "did that just happen? no. that couldn't have happened. NO SHIT, THAT ACTUALLY HAPPENED." Am I a sick fuck for smiling through this? Yes, I am, but OH EM GEE. I cannot stress how fucking awesome and BRUTAL this book is.
I usually don't read extreme horror, and I feel like a total fool for not doing it. THIS BOOK IS SO WORTH THE TIME TO READ.
Xavier, my dude. You are sick as hell and I'd love to meet up lol
Nope, I just did not click with this story at all. Extreme horror is my personal preference, so I've read, and will continue to read, tons of it. This jumped right in with zero context and pacing that was nonexistent. In the brief 57 pages, there was so much rape content that it was almost silly. That was the main focus of the writing and none of it felt organic or necessary. Not much explanation or development on anything beyond that, despite a really fun conclusion for our hateful lead, Xavier. This whole story desperately needed to be fine-tuned with a content editor. As a fan of this subgenre of horror, I really did not enjoy this outing with Rayne Havok.
This was friggin' BRUTAL. Good God. The end was completely unexpected and I was here for it. Some of the descriptions had me shuddering and put mental images in my brain that won't go away any time soon. The insanity is strong with this one.
The Rayne Train keeps pummeling along with this novella of depravity and revenge starring a deranged felon and his insatiable appetite. 3 Xs but 5 stars!
This story is brutal. This story is painful. This book is intense and full of violence. This book pulls no punches and is not for the weak. The brutal intense savagery in some of the scenes in this book made me ache and cringe which is not a easy thing to do. These same scenes made me flow with rage and thirsty for vengeance and I was not disappointed. The vengeance was just as savage and brutal as I could've hoped for. Read this if you think you can. This story stopped me cold a few times. It will stop you to. This is one hell of a extreme read.
When you read this BRUTAL monstrosity, the shock elements of the infamous “Things Have Gotten Worse Since We Last Spoke” will feel like a child's play.
I consider myself having a high threshold for dark and gore elements in a book. Still, this 36-page short story from hell not only made me question my sanity, but it also hurt me in places I’ve never thought I could through reading.
The poetic justice X received, in the end, was worth all the pain I've endured.
This is a fucking brutal book, to put it plainly. This mutherfucker, freshly escaped from prison for multiple assaults and rapes, helps himself to a mother and her two young daughters unlucky enough to be living in what he considered an abandoned house. The book takes an unexpected turn at the end and you can't help but smirk smugly at what he has in store for him, night after night. Highly brutal, XXX will have you squirming in your seat. 4 out of 5 stars.
This book is extremely brutal but man does it pay off in the end. Rayne Havok is extremely good at bringing you in. Page 32 33 made me squirm and I don't squirm easily.
So yeah that bunch of crazy just happened..I buddy read this and let me just say that that was what I've been needing brutal, bloody and messed up..The twist disappointed me a bit but the unbelievable violence over shadowed it..My black disturbed heart was very happy it found Xander.
WTG Rayne Havok!! This short story was just brutal. If you have any kind of triggers at all. You have been warned. This one takes on rape in a whole new light. The ending though!! Love the ending!
..."𝙾𝚗𝚎 𝚖𝚊𝚗'𝚜 𝚑𝚎𝚊𝚟𝚎𝚗 𝚒𝚜 𝚊𝚗𝚘𝚝𝚑𝚎𝚛 𝚖𝚊𝚗'𝚜 𝚑𝚎𝚕𝚕." I should have stayed curious and shouldn't have read this one. Totally fucked up book. I don't know if I should give it 1 star for the content this book has or 5 stars for it's writing. If you choose to read it see the warning this book comes with and if you don't have a strong stomach I'd advice not reading it.
I picked this for my a - z reading challenge for the letter X.
Now I am not new to extreme horror and have read a lot of books considered extreme horror - most, although very graphic, tend to have either a good story behind the violence or at least some decent prose and interesting writing. This unfortunately has neither except graphic rape scenes. Now I can cope with these if they have the previous mentioned decent story behind them but this was graphic just for the hello of it, and not written very well either.
Yeah... This just didn't do it for me at all. It's also super short so I'm not really surprised there was no backstory, no character development or any real substance at all.
**I've edited my review to take out the part where I claimed there was a pedophilic rape scene. The author insists that it is not although she is described as a 'young girl' more than once. Perhaps I read it wrong. Nevertheless I still didn't particularly enjoy this one**
This short story was awesomely brutal! The ending was amazingly perfect! I have already ordered this authors collection, and am excited to read more from her!
My first book by this author and won’t be my last. This book was less than a hour of reading but boy did it make a impression. It was brutal and I loved it. I know that’s makes me a bit sick in the head but I don’t care. I went from feeling horrified and sad for the girls too feeling a bit sorry for the bad guy at the end. The twist about Daddy coming home was a big surprise and was most unexpected. I’m going to read all of this author’s books.
Firstly I have to say if you get offended easily or don't like extreme fiction of any kind this is not for you. Now this was a sick twisted read but a great read, your feel the pain and heartache and then the fight after. It makes it all the better knowing how it goes. I can't say too much as it will give the story away and I hate that when I read a review. But all in all a great read, well written and definitely for the extreme readers that can see it is fiction and we don't condone it. Also I would recommend but only to those who aren't easily offended and enjoy extreme fiction.
The "XXX" narrative revolves mostly around SA. It's brutal, disgusting, and gut-wrenching. While I wished the ending had been more realistic, I appreciated watching the father avenge his family. Rayne always does an excellent job in the splatterpunk genre.
The low rating is based solely on my personal discomfort with the explicitly violent sexual content in the first half of the story, not necessarily the author’s talent. If anything, the intense rage and disgust I felt throughout most of this just goes to show how effective the writing is. This was undoubtedly the most horrific and brutal thing I’ve ever come across. It was quite devastating to read and at one point I had to skim ahead. But based on my previous experience with this author, I had hope that she would reward me for pushing through with a bit of satisfying vengeance and she did not disappoint. I only wished that the third act would’ve been longer. Such a brilliant twist on revenge and I was dying for more details. The ending was very clever and original but this is not a story that I, in good conscience, can recommend to anyone.
This is my first time reading Rayne Havok, and I'm kinda bummed that I didn't know about her before now! (plenty of you should have recommended her to me... you know who you are. hahahaha!) XXX was the perfect story to start with! Extreme horror with an extremely twisty ending, and fresh depravity - what more can you ask for? I'm looking forward reading the rest of her books! The full review is posted HERE - stop by and say 'hi'!
For fans of extreme horror, I cannot imagine a book getting more depraved than this. This is a short story that is not for the squeamish. At less than sixty pages, there's no room for character development. That being said, this is not a book you read for character study!! Yikes!!!!!
