Joey’s mate, Breeze, is a midwife. She’s about to deliver his friend Polly’s baby. The problem is, Breeze thinks he is the father of the baby—And that Joey and Polly are married.
Fate sure has a sense of humor when it comes to true mates.
Joey’s longing for a mate is finally brought to an end when he meets Breeze. After straightening out their brief misunderstanding he asks Breeze out on a date. She eventually says yes. However, Breeze is afraid to commit to a relationship with Joey, or any other man, because she has been unexpectedly left to care for her nephew, Tristan.
Can Joey persuade Breeze that he can be there for them both? After all, to a shifter like Joey, his mate’s family is his family.
Breeze moved to Bear Creek for a new start. However, her problems followed her. At least her sister’s problems did. When her sister’s marriage implodes Breeze left to pick up the pieces and Tristan comes to stay.
When she meets Joey, she is instantly drawn to him. Breeze doesn’t want Tristan to feel threatened by the new relationship but not falling in love with Joey is going to be hard. He’s the perfect man for her and would be the kind of father figure Tristan has been missing his whole life.
Just as things start to work themselves out, Breeze’s sister and her husband come to town and throw Breeze’s plans into disarray.
Can Joey and Breeze find a way to true happiness? For themselves and Tristan.

Just my way of saying thank you for giving my books a try.
I was very excited to see Joey find his mate. He has been one of my favorite characters from this series. Him and Breeze had a few obstacles to overcome before they could be together. Breeze has her nephew Tristan living with her while his parents decide what they want out of life. Joey must convince her that they are meant to be together and that their relationship will never be troubled like her sister's is. His kindness as well as his loving and devoted personality help her see the truth.
This is an OK shifter romance, with a likable couple, but it suffered from a lack of character development. I wanted more background on both Joey and Breeze, but especially on Breeze. There was also one major plot error that should have been caught by an editor. It gets 3 stars from me.
I liked how Joey's friends automatically accepted that Breeze was his mate, and treated her like family. I loved how Joey and his friends were so good with Breeze's nephew. I also really liked how Joey's friends were willing to help them at a time of crisis.
I liked both Joey and Breeze, and thought they were good together. I did wish that Breeze had not been quite so uncertain of whether her heart was safe with Joey. She shouldn't have let her sister's failed marriage make her doubt relationships so much.
There was one major plot error that should have been caught by an editor. This story said Martha, Hex's mate from book one of the series, was not a shifter. But in Hex's book, Martha was a cougar shifter. That is a huge mistake.
My rating system is below. 1 star -- Hated it, or did not finish. I usually only give this rating if some of the content is truly objectionable to me, like if one of the main characters does something really awful, and gets away with it. 2 stars -- Didn't like it. This rating usually means that I thought the writing wasn't very good, the editing was terrible, I didn't like the characters, or it had other major flaws. 3 stars -- I liked it, but had some minor issues with it. This rating means that there were minor editing issues, the story needed more character development, it was just too unrealistic, or had some other fairly minor issue. The majority of books I read get this rating – I do not consider it a bad rating. 4 stars -- I liked it a lot. This is a high rating for me, and I rarely give a higher one. 5 stars -- I loved it, and will probably read it again. Very few books are good enough to get this rating from me. The ones that do are usually classics.
I’ve been waiting for sweet Joey to find his mate, he’s been such a good friend and a secondary character in so many stories that I was delighted to see his story being told.
Like most things in life, waiting so long to find his mate has made Joey the man he is today. He’s great with kids, and if he can he will always volunteer for babysitting duty. He’s a good friend, even to an ex-girlfriend who has gone into labor early and her mate is out of town because of work – for some, it might be awkward to take an ex to the hospital to have her baby but this trip will not only deliver Polly and Miles’ baby but bring Joey face to face with Breeze, Polly’s midwife – and Joey’s mate. Unfortunately, Breeze is under the impression that the man who cannot stop watching her, flirting even, is her patient’s husband. Yeah. Awkward.
Joey brings one of my favorite residents of Bear Creek his happy ever after with a woman who might need some convincing that it’s safe to love someone, a woman who loves with all her heart once she gives it. I loved the interactions between Jane and Tristan, kids being kids. Now Tristan’s parents I’d like to give a stern talking to but… I’ll leave that up to Breeze and a strong reality check for them both.
I enjoyed myself, loved seeing the happy ending for a favorite character… and am intrigued by the gentle hints of what might be in store for O’Malley. If you love a good Shifter Romance then you should be reading this series.
I read this title through my Kindle Unlimited Subscription.
Joey is a sweetie, and he has just been called to help his ex-girlfriend give birth to her mate's baby, since the mate is out of town. That good deed apparently is good for Joey as he meets his mate, the midwife Breeze. Breeze can't understand why a husband whose wife was having his baby would be so interested in her! After that misconception is corrected, then Breeze needs to decide if she wants to get involved with this new man. There are a lot of complications in her life, but Joey is willing to get into all of it, for Breeze.
The pace is fast, the tone is hopeful and the storyline is character oriented with some action and some steamy scenes. The characters are vibrant and endearing. You want to read at least the Shifter Seasons series in order, but it starts much earlier than that. There are a ton of smaller series in the Bear Creek and Bear Bluff area. If you want the background, read the Bear Creek and Bear Bluff box set, then Return to Bear Bluff box set and the Return to Bear Creek stories which have a few box sets. There are also a bunch of other side series. This story is one with older shifters, as is the Silverback shifters stories. Enjoy!
Joey has waited his whole life to meet her, his fated mate. He never thought he would meet her while bringing his ex to the hospital to have her baby, because her husband is out of town on business! Breeze is new in town and the midwife getting ready to help Polly deliver her child. So why is Polly’s husband staring at her like he wants to eat her up? Moreover, why does Breeze feel the attraction too? This story starts out with a misunderstanding of epic proportions! However, Joey has finally found Breeze, so he sure isn’t willing to let her go. Besides, she has the coolest nephew around, and Tristan likes him too! Breeze and Tristan have forged a great relationship since his parents dropped him on Breeze’s doorstep and drove away. Joey fits nicely into this little family until Lisa and Uri return and jealousy sweeps through the parents. This story was sweet, sexy, funny and an enjoyable, quick read! Check it and all the others in this series out today!
What a funny start to this book. Lovely Joey finally meets his mate but it is when he is taking his ex-girlfriend Polly, into the hospital to have her baby. Breeze naturally thinks the baby is Joeys’. Breeze is looking after her nephew Tristan, as his parents, her sister and brother in law are selfish idiots, especially the father who is having a midlife crisis. Though it works out for them, I just didn’t care about them at all, I only cared for Tristan, smart child that he is. Unfortunately, Breezy does not believe in the mate bond due to the brother in laws behaviour. But Joey is just the man to prove that it is true and real. Cannot wait to read about O’Malley, the last bachelor, meeting his mate. Hope she is perfect for him. Kindly offered this book for an honest review. I chose to read it through Kindle Unlimited.
Oh wow, another happy ending and someone learned a lesson in being there for each other and not flying on one wing..so to speak. Uri sure learned a life lesson in parenting and realized going on adventure doesn't actually makes you happy. Loved how things worked out for everyone, Lisa got to be with both the men in her life, and Breeze and Joey can now focus on their relationship. Now all but O'mally is set with their mates, please say you are doing a story for him as well, so looking forward to see him find his true mate. Love your story's they take me away to a place where you can only dream of and a good way to relax after a hard day at work..big fan as always Winzie19☺💞.
Polly was a jerk to call Joey, her ex-boyfriend, who she dumped when she found her mate- to come help her deliver her baby. He still loved her. I would never think to call some guy that I dumped to come help me deliver a kid that wasn't his. Joey was sweet to go. Even though the author tried to convey differently, Joey still had feelings for Polly and it felt Breeze was a rebound. If Polly suddenly became single, I don't know if Joey would have gone with her. I didn't like the instalove. I wish authors would get away from it. Insta-attraction, sure. But loving someone you know nothing about makes me roll my eyes. Joey's automatic love for Breeze seemed disingenuous. Overall, I was a little bored but it was a sweet romance

So great that Joey finds his mate. Breeze isn't a breeze when it comes to thinking that Joey could be her dream come true. Her sister's relationship poisoned her way of thinking about mates. Because her sister's husband has decided that having a kid has lost his sense of who he wants to be and takes off. Selfish people just do not really grow up. Joey's story about the love he has dreamed of has some hiccups but Joey deals with them in his living and caring way. Another bear bites the dust with a lot of help from his friends.
I have read this 8 part Shifter Seasons before. I really enjoyed it because of the characters appearing in other stories. That said, there is one point that is not consistent. Joey goes and asks Martha , as a mate of a shifter, to talk to his mate, Breeze. The only problem with that is Martha is a cougar shifter herself. And I believe in the story about Shawn…when Hex and Martha show up at Kelos and Amber’s party…their baby is a girl, not a boy as mentioned in this story.
Wonderful addition to the series. I love to read about Joey finally getting his fated mate. Breeze is a great match for Joey and Tristan is a wonderful boy who really helps to bring them together a little faster. Reading about people seeing someone shift for the first time makes me wish I could see it myself. I would recommend this book to any adult reader who enjoys a good sexy shifter romance.
Joey is a special treasure cause he can relate 2 the kids more than most and it helps that he's a very true friend that helps when anyone is in need. Joey helped his ex even when it was really painful cause of his feelings but it turned quickly on its head when the big surprise came 2 him. When it's time 4 the tables r turned everyone 2 help him he never had 2 ask he'd always have someone at his back like he's there 4 everyone.
I've read many shifter stories and this is one of my favorite author's in this genre. Very familiar with some of the characters such as: Shawn, Jane, Kelos, Hex and a few others. I really enjoyed this story. Joey finding his mate and teaching her nephew how to build a fire. The boy is led up in the Mountain by his father where the lesson in fire building comes in handy.
I have loved the Shifter Seasons books. Each is a standalone book but beloved characters are found throughout the books. Joey is a wonderful book involving a bear shifter, a midwife and her nephew. It is finally Joey's turn in finding his mate. Romance, fun, playful, and so much more. Bravo! I loved the slow build for a relationship. Hoping for the next book to be . . . .
Wow! How emotionally charged this read was and as always awesome! I Loved reading Joey's story ans what brings them together. I was sad and hurt but everything came together. Would like to see if Lisa stay with Uri or finds her happy ever shifter, lol Thank you I can hear the shifters inner animals now and it makes it unique. AWESOME!
Joey gets a phone call from his ex late at night. She is in labor and her husband is out of town. Joey steps in to get her to the hospital and to get her husband back as soon as possible. What he didn't plan on was to meet his mate, Breeze. Breeze is the midwife and thinks Joey is the husband and father! A fun romance! I loved this book and series!!!
Joey watched all his friends find mates. When his ex girlfriend calls for him to take her to the hospital because she was in labor, the last thing he expected was to meet his mate. Breeze wasa midwife and why was she feeling this pull to someone else's husband. Enjoyed the book.
Joey is surrounded by his friends, but now that most of them are mated he is feeling the loneliness much more. Will fate step up? Good story about the relationships and trials between friends and family.
Couldn't put it down loved the characters and the storyline and can't wait to read more hopefully in this series so it's a well deserved five stars and I would recommend this book to everyone
I thought Joey's story was just perfect for him. Such a stand-up guy to be at Pollys side when she goes into labor and reaches out to Kelos to get Polly's mate to the hospital in time for the birth. Breeze steps out of her comfort zone to get to know Joey and allows him to help Britney a little joy into her nephews life. I was really disappointed in Tristan's parents, but was happy they too may have found a happy ending. This was a sweat and very emotional story. Another winner.
I’ve read all six books and each one is entrancing, exciting and heart warming. The communities and inhabitants are welcoming and close. It feels like family
Thoroughly enjoyed reading Breeze & Joey's story very much. I love reading a happy ever after story it makes me feel better after a very hard day. Thank you for writing this story.
Spoiler alert: I so happy he didn’t have such a hard time as everyone else, but a little stumbling block. Loved every word. I hope O’Malley will get his mate next.
I was so excited to read Joey’s story! He is such a sweet, dependable man/bear! I loved him in the previous books but I was so happy for him to find his mate! I hope you enjoy this book and series as much as I did!
This story really touched my heart. Breeze was looking out for her nephew. Meets Joey. The interaction and coming together of not only Breeze and Joey but Tristian was great. Love a happy ending especially with children.
Finally Joey finds his mate!. She thought he was husband to his friend he brought in having a baby. He is such a sweet guy. Breeze, the !midwife falls right away! But she's having a hard time because her nephew is staying with her.
I have loved reading this book and couldn't wait to get back to another one which I know l will be thinking of being lost in the story, thank you author for writing this book and others
I really enjoyed reading Joey and Breeze’s story! Another great storyline and characters that you really like and we got to revisit with some of the other friends from the first books in the series. Looking forward to reading Shawn’s story next!
I'm really enjoying this series of the Shifter Seasons Book 6 Joey: Spring By Harmony Raines. I love how Joey and Breeze meet at the hospital Breeze is a midwife at Bear Bluff hospital . I recommend 18 and up .
As I stated before in some of the previous books in this series - you become thoroughly involved with the characters. This book and the previous ones in the series make you believe in happy ever after.
