Twisted Love

Rate this book
Werewolves are apex predators. When entire packs start vanishing into thin air, you know you have a big problem.

Park Ranger Bob Spencer transferred to Denali National Park five years ago, so Michael is more than a bit surprised when his old friend drops by unannounced on a Sunday afternoon and delivers a strange warning. Stranger still, Bob goes missing the very next day.

Michael soon draws a parallel between his friend’s disappearance and recent abductions. Abductions of a bizarre nature since entire packs of werewolves have vanished without a trace.

No one knows who’s behind the mysterious kidnappings, but Michael intends to find out.

So begins a game of cat and mouse between the ranger and a faceless enemy. A game with high stakes, because Michael isn’t the cat.

Will Michael figure out what hides behind the kidnappings, or will he be the next victim? Read Twisted Love now and find out.

Marc Daniel is the author of Shadow Pack, an urban fantasy novel and first book of the Michael Biörn series. After spending significant amount of time in Ohio, France, and Montana, Marc is currently living in Texas where he writes as a full time hobby.

Marc developed a taste for mystery novels very young, and was definitely hooked to the genre by age 11 after reading Agatha Christie’s And Then There Were None. The Queen of Crime's unparalleled talent for mystery has had a strong influence on Marc’s desire to write and this is reflected in his novels. His taste for science fiction literature came a couple years later after stumbling upon The Dreaming Jewls by Theodore Sturgeon. Simak, Asimov, Van Vogt, Zimmer Bradley, Wells, Bradburry followed in short order. Marc was 18 when he read Frank Herbert’s Dune, his first space opera, and was immediately fascinated by the genre. He spent the next few years reading Space opera sagas almost exclusively (Herbert, Anderson, Bordage, etc) with the exception of the occasional Agatha Christie. He discovered fantasy much later at age 25 with Tolkien’s Lord Of The Rings trilogy. In the years following, his reading started gravitating more and more towards this literary style. Surprisingly enough, it took Marc another eight years to read his first urban fantasy, Patricia Brigg’s Moon Called, and to realize he wanted more. Jim Butcher’s Dresden Files series partially tamed his appetite but his thirst could only be quenched by writing his own series. A year later, Shadow Pack was born.

Marc is currently working on book #2 of the Michael Biörn series and is having way too much fun with the story line.

I received an advanced copy for my unbiased opinion. I hate to say it but dang I love this series. Twists and turns galore; its a wild ride so hang on in the 4th book of the series. Marc continues to grow his characters as well as the world they all live in. I have grown to love Michael and all the characters he collects along the way. Friends turn into enemies then turn into friends again. I really enjoy how he is growing and learning to accept other supernaturals for their individuality vs their races past sins. Ez the wizard is starting to become a favorite and I am hoping there will be a spin off on this character sometime in the future. I enjoy stories where the actions is plentiful and the romance is a slow burn without details of what happens in the bedroom. This is perfect. I found the twists and turns of this fun and I just could not put it down. I am hoping this series has a long run. If you have not tried this author grab a copy you won't be able to put it down until the last page.

In Australia two warlocks and their mysterious master conspire to steal three fragments of a powerful jewel, the Eye of the Phoenix. Meanwhile in Yellowstone, a covert paramilitary government group is kidnapping werebeings and subduing them with a powerful technology for an unknown purpose. When one of Michael Bjorn's young friends, Lucy, a recently turned vampire/ werebear hybrid, is accused of stealing one of the jewel fragments from Lord Vulpe Zamfir, Michael goes to France to save his young protegee from a death sentence. Meanwhile, evil agents are hot on Michael's trail, determined to capture and subdue him. This story has lots of exciting action and plenty of suspenseful twists and turns. If you like stories about supernatural, preternatural, and fae creatures, you will love this book. I have read all the books in this series so far, and this book doesn't disappoint. I look forward to the next installment coming up soon!

This is the fourth book in :The Michael Biorn Book Series

As usual there are hidden enemies everywhere and very few people the main protagonist Michael can trust . In this installment the United States Government has set out to capture were creatures for there own use and their next target is Michael but at the same time there is a new dangerous magical entity that has all the wizards anxious . Also Lucy is in trouble with the Vampires after she is accused of stealing a precious artifact from the Vampire Lord and is sentenced to death . Michael must race against time to prove her innocence which turns out not so easy . And of course the action is off the chains as Michael's loved ones fight for their very lives and allies are not to be trusted . NOT to mention this new secretly funded paramilitary group that's hunting down were creatures looking forward to the next book in this series .

I enjoyed this book thoroughly. It was intriguing and fun to read with twists and turns that have come to be expected by Daniels and particularly within this series. (Spoiler Alerts) This is my favorite in the series as it shows a very unique and expansive Fae community. I also appreciated the bravado and self assurance that you get to see in Biörn as he has a death device around his neck while controlling the people holding the kill switch. The plot holes are addressed in the end enough to feel like the story reaches a reasonable conclusion while still having a very obvious yet unwritten "to be continued."

*I received a free copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review*
Another great Michael Biörn book, I always love reading about our lovable Teddy bear and it always amazes me how he manages to work everything out while I'm still confused. I will admit though I did feel slightly less lost with this book that I did with the previous one.
This time around there are werebeings disappearing left right and centre and a powerful artifact that even has Ez scared. I was loving it.
I also really enjoyed seeing more of the vampires and finding out more about their dynamics and politics. The ending was such a tease and I can't wait for the next book to come out!

I don't know what stars aligned but Michael had been living a very quiet unassuming life - until the events of "Shadow Pack". Now multiple conspiracies, an impossible theft, attacks on various friends (even if they might be vampires) - all of these combine to make his life interesting (as per the Chinese curse). Murphy really seems to have it in for Michael. Good thing that Michael is capable of handling almost anything!

I received a copy from the author and I am voluntarily leaving a review.

An unexpected visit, and the kidnapping of his old friend as well as the mysterious disappearances of shifters has Michael curious. He will quickly realize that these events are connected, and his won't be the only life in danger as he investigates.
Lots of exciting action, suspense, and a mysterious, very powerful villain make this another must read in this series. Fascinating, and well written characters. Fantastic book.

Wow I thought the first three books were deep but this one really had me scared that Michael was going to lose this battle. Highly recommend reading. Can't wait to read the next book.

Really fun book and series

The characters are very fun and interesting, there is a ton of action, were creatures, magic, etc. The only thing it really needs is another book in the series, and luckily there is one. I recommend this book and series.

I love this whole series. They are all fantastic!! This newest edition is not exception. Another great story, well told. I love the characters and the developments of each. As always he keeps you thinking/guessing to try and figure it out before he explains it. Seriously cannot wait for the next part of the story.
