Rainbow Room #2

Hear Me, Daddy

Rate this book
What will you do for love? Can you look past a medical condition and see the person underneath?

Victim's Rights Lawyer Caden Evans has a tedious life. Work. Home. Repeat. He is ready for a change. What he desires more than anything is someone to fill the empty void in his heart. A man to cuddle and care for. A man who is into age play and will be his Little Boy. Can a chance encounter at the Rainbow Room be the answer to his silent prayers?

Henry Reed is a bestselling author who writes age play novels. But what he wants most is a Daddy Dom. Just like in his stories. But a terrible accident at fourteen left Henry deaf and with other chronic medical issues. He thinks he's broken, and that no self-respecting Daddy will want a broken Boy. He’s afraid that his dark past and medical condition will keep him from finding a Daddy. Caden and Henry meet, but can they look past the broken pieces of their lives and find love?

This is an AGE PLAY book between two male characters. There will be diaper changes (because of medical issues) and other aspects of age play. If that does not appeal to you, do not read this book.

Content warning: The conversations can get occasionally dark. There is discussion about cults, Nazi's, and hate crimes.

Now this was also as sweet as the first book, as to be expected, however I am thankful that it wasn't quite as dark. I might not have been able to stand it. It's still not an easy book to read, Henry's past is very disturbing and he is a very hurt boy. Fortunately, he finds his Daddy. YAY!
There are a few more sexy moments here than in the first book. Simply because Henry has a little fixation.

“Fiiiiiiine. Just don’t be surprised if you find my blue balls have fallen off when you change my diaper tomorrow.” 🤣😂🤣

“Not yet, Cupcake. You need a lot more stretching.”
“No, I don’t.”
Raising my eyebrow, I was ready to remind him who was in charge when he continued, “It’s not that nothing ever went there. I’m just a cock virgin. There are sex toys that are supposed to go there, you know?”
🤣😂🤣

I’m definitely spoiled for these last few weeks.
This was another dose of sweetness from this series! Age play, but with flawed mc. PERFECT! Henry has a medical condition and he’s deaf. He can speak, but mostly uses sign language to communicate. He also had a traumatic history. His story gives me so many feelings 🥺🥹

I love how Caden handled everything. It must be heartbreaking for him to be so strong for Henry. It was sad to watch both of them - Henry after what had happened and Caden who wanted nothing but protect Henry.

This was fluffy, not as much as the first but just as sweet and heartwarming. I love both of them together, Caden just do not care whatever bad thing Henry said about himself all he wanted was to take care of his boy. The insta Daddy was done wonderfully as expected.

Even though I didn’t focus too much about the side storyline while reading this, it was still tragic to me and so different than the first, I liked it. Troubled family, troubled culture, one of the best trope for me.

And remember Henry’s deaf, right? And I think this is one of the hottest line I ever read :

“Sign, Henry. I want to see your hands, so Daddy can be sure that you’re not touching your special place.”

DANG IT! 🥵🤣

After all of the age play (s) I’ve read, I noticed one specific thing I love about it. It’s the fact that Daddies always gets what their Littles are feeling and always know how to handle them. Beautiful.

Book safety, content warnings, and tropes & tags down below.

“Can I have ice cream with sprinkles?” Henry signed before I finished my sentence and gave me the most adoring look. Oh dear, that was going to be a hard look to say no to.

I forgot (read: didn’t feel like) writing the review for this book, so it’s been a few days since I finished it. Therefore the details aren’t exactly fresh in mind, but I *do* remember how much I loved it. It’s easily one of my favorite books with age regression, and I really enjoyed the well done disability representation as well. I felt like it was all handled with sensitivity, and I would think the authors researched what they were writing about. As a hearing person I obviously can’t comment on the accuracy of the representation, but I *think* it was done well.

When I got back into the bathroom, I learned a fundamental Daddy lesson. Never leave a Little alone in the tub with bath colors.

I really enjoyed reading about a Little who got a little bratty when he was comfortable. Nothing extreme, but he wasn’t always a ‘perfect boy’. The MCs connection overall was very sweet and believable. It was super fast though. Not necessarily insta love, but insta *something*, lol.

“Hey. No one said anything about spanking me. You’re supposed to fuck me.” “You’re topping from the bottom, Henry. That’s a spanking offense.” “Am not.”

One of the MCs grew up in a cult of white supremacists, and he suffered some abuse there, including a vicious and violent attack when he tried to leave. There’s not a huge amount of details around any of these things, but that’s where all of the content warnings come from.

Definitely recommend if you enjoy reading about age play.

“Is this your first time?” He nodded and just stared at me. “It’s scary, right?” He nodded at me. He had tears on his face, and it sounded like he needed a tissue. No self-respecting Daddy went anywhere without supplies, so I reached into my pocket and pulled out a hanky and handed it to him.

“Why? I didn’t even say monster python yet.” To my surprise, Caden glanced down at his crotch, and I giggled. “Daddy has a monster python.” “If you ever say monster python in public, I will put your willy into a cage for a week.” “You would not.”

Much like the first of the series, Hear Me, Daddy was an adorable and quick age-play romance.
I loved the characters and the hurt/comfort elements, but felt Henry and Caden’s relationship was a little lost amongst the family drama. The ending was also a little anti-climactic and rushed.

CW and tropes(spoilers):
- Ageplay and ABDL
- Writer MC vs Lawyer MC
- Mentions of assault and abuse
- Deaf MC
- Strict top/bottom
- Brief use of cockcage

I adored this.
I loved both MCs.
It was also so good to finally find a Daddy/Boy book that had a large plot.

At the end was a teaser for the next book. I was so excited to jump right in, but when I looked for it, it doesn't exist... yet.

The sweetes and cutest age play, it was so good!

I was a bit afraid of this story, because the first book in the series was really, really good and one of my favorite ageplay book, so I had high expectations. But oh yeah, this book was just as amazing as the first!

The deaf/ASL side of the story was a really big surprise for me, I'm such a sucker for disabled characters, and Henry was such a cutie! Loved him and his insecurities. And Caden just aww, such a marshmallow daddy. Loved these two.

The hurst/comfort was really heartbreaking and well written. I was hurting for Henry. He came a long way and he deserves all the happiness with his unicorn Daddy!

Loved the caretaking part of the story, the diaper changes were my favorites and when Henry felt broken, but Caden put him to right. The blanket fort scene was so, so sweet! I just love a caring daddy, and the authors wrote exactly this kind of daddies.

I was happy while reading this book and this is what I'm looking for in a Daddy kink book. Perfect story. Loved it! And highly recommend it!

This was cute. I loved the disability rep. And how Caden loved Henry disabilities and all. This was a rather insta kind of book with a pinch of suspense. Henry had something horrible happened to him and is searching for himself and his perfect Daddy. Caden is his perfect Daddy. I loved how they were together and how Henry’s disabilities didn’t hold him back in what he wanted.

Future me:
No sharing
Dual POV
Some diversity in beginning
Kinda insta. They do have a week of texting but Henry was very ready so yea.

Okay, criticisms first. This really needed better proofreading. There were commas where they didn't need to be, and commas absent where they were needed. At times, it felt like William Shatner or Christopher Walken were narrating it, with all their odd pauses. Some awkward phrasing made sentences and their meanings hard to decipher. Spelling mistakes were obvious, and drew me out of the story. Cases in point: Henry likely sent Caden a dancing *llama* gif (chapter 6), not a lama gif as printed. And I imagine Henry actually threw his fist in the air and *whooped*, not whopped (chapter 12). And a glaring continuity error: At the Rainbow Room during their first meeting at the start of the book, Henry tells Caden he's allergic to apples. Caden makes a point of saying "so no apple juice, then". And when he orders their meals, Caden tells Des "any juice but apple". So we're all aware his allergy is a thing, and Caden as a Daddy is doing his job by making note of it. Then later in the book when Sam comes over for a play date, Caden is preparing APPLE SLICES for their snack! WTH! You know your Boy is allergic to apples, so why are there even any in the house?? And Henry doesn't even mention his allergy again. Again, WTH? Even if this is just a hives-producing allergy and not a This Will Kill Me allergy, this is a shocking dereliction by Daddy Caden, and a massive continuity fail by the authors. Do better.

Now the good things. This was a very sweet story, with very likeable MC's. Henry was absolutely adorable, and made me want to scoop him up and put him in my pocket, when I wasn't wanting to rock him to sleep. His deep-seated belief that he was broken was hard to read, but watching Caden teach him with both word and deed that he was absolutely not was sweet.

I prefer my Daddy stories to be of the comfort/Caretaker variety rather than the Kneel Before Me Dom variety, so the interaction between the two was well within my comfort zone. And reading Henry's reaction to the idea of the cock cage and then the reality of the cock cage was very amusing.

The angst, what little there was of it, was external to the MC's, and well done, I thought. The tension it produced, and how it played out, was an interesting way to approach it. I won't spoil it, so I will only say that I didn't feel it was irrelevant or a distraction. And could Sam be any cuter? I didn't read Sam and Jakob's story first, but I'll be doing that next, and reading the books out of order didn't leave me feeling like I'd missed anything. The inclusion at the end of the story of the preview for Des's story has me hooked on this series. Let's just hope the copy editing and proofreading improves.

Ive left pretty much same review on both books 1 and 2 as my thoughts are the same for both.

1. Overuse of the word cum and honestly isn't something I thought I'd ever say in MM reads but and this is personal opinion cum is slang and come or coming or came works perfectly fine.

2. The littles in these books seem to be little almost all the time, not just to decompress or de stress as most books seem to be and it felt very over the top and fake. It may be that there are littles who live like this but this is just my thoughts.

In this book I had unanswered questions, comments were made, making me believe something was going to happen and then bam nothing

I did enjoy the characters but they felt a little unfinished. We hear a lot about Henry but not a lot about who Caden is other than Daddy and a lawyer.

I haven't read any other reviews yet, this was a KU read for me but 2.5 stars because I believe they are newish authors so maybe as they grow there writing will grow as well.

This was pretty much on the same level as book one. It was good on the whole, but still not really quite right, especially in terms of the depth of the individual plot elements.

What I also didn't like too much this time was the insta-love. It all happened way too fast for me, especially with regard to the first "I love you". Didn't really feel realistic and believable.

Also, the plot, the part about Henry's story, was a bit too easily resolved. Especially when you consider that Henry's origin was very complex.

In any case, though, this was a nice book. I can't and shouldn't complain too much.

I didn't love it or hate it. It was just okay for me. I think there was a lot going on between the family and the romance and it just wrapped up to quick and clean.

Hear Me, Daddy is the second book in the Rainbow Room series by L. Michael and M. Elton. Hear Me, Daddy is about Caden, who we met in book one, and Henry.

Caden wants a change. He's ready for his own Baby Boy. Henry wants a Daddy but a terrible accident 14 years ago left him deaf and with various medical issues. He thinks he's broken. Will a chance encounter at the Rainbow Room be the answer to their prayers?

I really loved this book. It's amazing!! Such a beautiful story. Caden and Henry are amazing together. This book is sweet, sexy, funny and very well written. I love it so much!!

Can't wait for the next book!

Hear me, Daddy is a sweet Age Play book with some angst, ABDL and of course, a HEA.

Hear Me, Daddy by L. Michael and M. Elton is the second book in the Rainbow Room series. It is the story of Henry, a Boy who yearns for a Daddy, and Caden, a Daddy looking for a Boy. Henry has had a difficult life, growing up in a cult like place and then going deaf and gaining multiple chronic medical issues after an “accident” at age 14. He believes because of his disabilities no Daddy would ever want him. Caden is a victims’ rights lawyer who has watched his friends find their Boys and wants one of his own. After a chance meeting at The Rainbow Room on Little’s Night, the two start their relationship and begin to see that they are what each other needs. What I love about these authors’ books is that they have vibrant main characters with real needs and they show how they grow and develop by themselves and together. There are also many interesting side characters that help them and are vital to the story and some characters from the first book in the series (Save Me, Daddy) make an appearance so you get to see what they have been up to. They also show characters with disabilities and some that are on the LGBTQ+ spectrum so you get new perspectives on how these affect their lives. There is a strong plot that adds some suspense to the story and keeps it moving which makes you want to read more. In this case, after Henry’s accident he is given a new identity and a new place to live but he is always worried that his past will catch up with him. This affects his relationship with Caden and when he finds out about it he does everything he can to help Henry. I really enjoyed this story and highly recommend it. I’m looking forward to reading the next book.

I Hear You Loud And Clear

Omg this book broke my heart but also filled me with joy. Henry who is deaf and has to wear diapers from a beating by his own brother has been hiding out for 12 years and is a little who just wants his own Daddy but feels he is too broken to be loved. Henry finally gets the courage to go to the Rainbow Room, an LGBTQ club, after his Aunt Ava pushed him to go. She always had Henry's best interest at heart and his life changes forever. Caden is a Daddy who is also a lawyer who is looking for a little when he meets Henry at the club. When Henry realizes that Caden can sign as a result of his own sister being deaf, he feels like maybe he could have what he wants. It's a slow journey for them as they each explore their roles in their relationship but it is so sweet and I just want to hug Henry and tell him he's not broken. The fact that Henry's family were Nazis' was a clever storyline by the author, one which I never encountered before in a book. Of course Sam and Jakob and Des from book one make appearances and help to create the family that Henry was lacking except for Ava. I highly recommend this series and can't wait for book 3 so Des can finally get his boy. This book has an epilogue and a quick peak of the next book.

Well, this was adorable.

I adored Henry. He was a sweet, sassy angel baby, and he deserved all the special changes that he wanted. I found his backstory to be super interesting, and same with the plot line of the book.

I also loved Caden. He was exactly what Henry always dreamed of, and vice versa. He knew instantaneously that Henry was it for him, and it was written in a believable way that didn’t leave me confused at the instalove. They just fit together like puzzle pieces.

I loved all the side characters too, which makes me want to read more of the series.

Okay this is now my new favorite series. Read the first one and instantly fell in love. Didn't think it could get better and then in the second rainbow room book we have hurt/comfort, a character with a disability, a cat, humor, sass in spades, and a HEA. I read it on KU but now I must own it. Henry is so sweet but then the filth that he says to get his daddy worked up. LOVE it.

It was also great to see the characters from book 1. Sam is amazing and he was a great friend from Henry. Ava, although not in the story much, was so much fun and such a great supportive aunt. Miles is one lucky man.

There are a few editing errors but not enough to take me out of the story. I liked how the authors used different styles to show signing and speaking. Finally and I can't stress this enough the teaser for the next book has me so excited. This is definitely a book for anyone who needs a sweet, loving, daddy/boy story to brighten their day.

This caught my attention, mainly because Henry have disabilities and I liked the first book in the series.
Henry was all sweetness with a bit of a stubborn streak to him and Caden was soft and still able to handle an unruly little and a cat with a mean streak.

What makes this not a five star read is the copout on the plot.
It insinuated several times that things will happen that's got to do with Henry's family, but in the end there is nothing, and we just get an update on what happens to them.
The plot of the first book was part of why I liked it, it had substance to it, this just fizzled out to nothing and it disappointed me.
Not to mention that for being someone that's been in hiding for twelve years, Henry was quick to trust Caden.

I wanted more than it could give me.

There are a lot of people who love this series; I am not one of those people. It’s too sweet, way too sweet. The opening subject matter made me think the author had grown as a writer and was digging into complex characters and plot. But nope. Love at first sight, with baby tears. The realness of a true medical condition was white washed with platitudes. I never even made it to see how the sex scenes were written, I just couldn’t get the obnoxiously sticky sweetness out of my teeth. I’m done with this series for now, but I may come back to see the bar owner’s story as he’s the only one I really found interesting—and he’s not really that interesting but this series offered me nothing else to cling too.

Tout chez lui me faisait penser à Little.

Bien.

« Il a dit qu'il était brisé. »

« Ouais. »

Pauvre bébé. Je me suis retournée vers Henry qui était toujours assis, me regardant fixement.

« Attendez. Vous êtes Lucian Holston et Little Boy Blue ? »

Victim's Rights Lawyer Caden Evans's life is tedious and he longs to find a man to cuddle and care for to fill the void in his heart. A man who is into age play and will be his Little Boy. Can a chance encounter at the Rainbow Room be the answer to his silent prayers? Henry Reed is a bestselling author who writes age play novels. But what he wants most is a Daddy Dom. Just like in his stories. A terrible accident when he was fourteen left him deaf and with other chronic medical issues which means he uses a nappy. Henry is convinced that he is broken and that no self-respecting Daddy would ever want a broken Boy. He’s afraid that his dark past and medical condition will keep him from finding a Daddy. Caden and Henry meet, but can they look past the broken pieces of their lives and find love?

This was such a sweet story of how a beautiful man from such a dreadful start in life found the perfect Daddy for him who was gentle enough to care for him and give him lots of cuddles while also strong enough to protect him with whatever tools he had. I loved the gentleness and understanding from Caden towards Henry and the way he was firm but at the same time gentle with any punishments. Henry was just adorable and I just wanted to hug him lots. Easy to read, feel and understand. This was an MM story with mature content and a BDSM-like DDLB dynamic. Please read the trigger warnings.

This is a good book. I enjoyed reading it. And, though I don’t like leaving bad reviews, I know that reviews are for us readers not authors. And this isn’t even a bad review, I four-starred the book!

BUT, there are things that may irk prospective readers, so a fair warning:

Henry had told Caden he’s allergic to apples in the very beginning, toward the end of the book, Caden had made him apple slices twice! (He didn’t eat them, and it was glossed over).

When Henry first audibly called Caden Daddy, it went unacknowledged, then, pages later, when Henry calls Caden Daddy again, Caden was like: ‘Oh, man. It’s the first time I hear the word Daddy from him!’

On their first weekend together, Caden was vocally adamant on not having sex. And, then, he jumped Henry without any monologue explaining why. It’s like he never said that.

The FBI agent, Ian, said no one knew, not even the FBI, about Henry being alive, and then, some random other agent knows just because he’d been undercover amongst Henry’s family?

Why wasn’t the fact that Sam had been able to access classified FBI files concerning—it literally meant any IT genius can do it? How is it that they all comfortably assumed Sam was the only IT genius in the world?

Talk about a hard book to review... this is it! On the one hand, I love the age play but I am still not sure how I feel about Henry being "little" 90% of the time... and I am still on the fence about sex during "little" time... and don't get me started on the missed opportunities! *headdesk* ;p

BUT, I loved the dynamics that Henry and Caden shared right from the start! But, did they move fast? Yes, even though I am not opposed to insta-love, I just need more than a "turn around... bump into his chest... look up... and the "this is my one" moment happens... yeah, that was fast, even for me! *grin*

I would have liked to have seen a Play Room date with Henry, Sam, and Josh, but we didn't get that. I would have liked to have seen Henry blow Caden's mind with a night playing with his "toys"! LOL!!! But, we didn't get that. Yes, like I said... missed opportunities!

And, was it me, or did the whole "family" issue get tied up with a velvet bow and never to be seen again?

Having whined about all that... I still liked the story and hope to see another addition to this series in the future! What can I say? I am old, I don't have to make sense! LOL!!!

Thrilling Daddy/Boy age play

Wow! I thought the first book in this series was good but this one just topped it. I absolutely love how the authors are able to literally weave a crime drama and an age play story together and make it work so well. Henry is the sweetest Little - especially considering what he's had to overcome in his life. Becoming deaf at the age of 14 and suffering from serious medical conditions, he dreams of a Daddy that can love and spoil him - despite his issues. Caden is a victim's rights lawyer and a Daddy without a boy. When they meet it's a match made in heaven - if they can protect Henry from the family that tried to kill him and learn to trust in each other. I was completely sucked into this story from the start. So much research and detail is apparent - from the world building to the historical context to the supporting characters. Everything fit together perfectly and created a thrilling story that absolutely captivated my attention. I'm completely hooked on this series and am eager to jump into the next book. Definitely 5*! So good!

I love how unique this book was. A deaf Little with certain medical issues and a righteous lawyer with a loving heart.

Little Henry and Daddy Caden were so cute. Their banter was hilarious and I really loved how Henry came out of his shell. He was so afraid of life before and slowly he opened up to Caden and the rest of the Rainbow Room crew. Also, the slightly bratty side Henry had was so cute.

But I think my favorite part was his loving aunt, dear god, she was one heck of a character. So sassy and so strong willed. Loved her so much. She was just the most supportive person anyone can have in their life but I’m sure that her involvement in Henry’s life was what helped him survive his attack.

Absolutely adorable book about a disabled little and his special daddy. Henry was abused and beaten by his brother so bad that he lost his hearing and control of his bladder, making him use diapers full time. He feels like no daddy will ever want him as his little. Caden meets Henry at a club that is hosting a Little/Daddy event. Both feel an immediate attraction. This book has all the feels. Comfort, love, sexy times, hurt feelings and angst. This was an ARC book and I was a BETA reader for both authors. I would have read this no matter what! Looking forward to future books from both authors.

Another adorable story with daddy’s and their littles.

Henry was a perfect mane for the thriller/romance writer. Caden was looking for a little but wasn’t having much luck into he literally ran into him. Henry is a hermit and doesn’t socialize because of his past. Caden is a lawyer who deals with the down trodden and ugly of the world but these two come together and work out their issues and win in the end.

Even better than the first one.

I liked how this book addressed and answered the swiftness of their relationship. With all the drama surrounding Henry it was inevitable that they would get close faster than normal. Same with Sam and Jakob. And now we know that the next story will focus on someone long overdue for their own little. That still leaves one other. And no I’m not going to tell you who lol.

No, just No! This is some bad writing. The writing style, the topic, the dialogue, the speed of the relationship, it's all bad. This is worse than some poorly written fanfiction..
And they should really stick to writing fanfiction because this is really not ok.

Save your money and time because this is not worth it.
Would not recommend this to anyone.

I couldn't finish this. The "I'm not snooping" by a secondary character but absolutely snooping and sharing trauma that wasn't his to share, combined with dead naming and outing a trans woman. I stopped right there. That's not ok and too much for me, especially when it's coming from the "good guys."
