This is a fun book about two children who have a community compost heap. Mateo gets the fun of sharing her knowledge of composting with Alex. The knowledge of composting is put in such a way that children will understand and want to join in. The illustrations are beautiful. There is a seek and Find in the back. I highly recommend this book for the 3-8 crowd and the Preschool to 4th grade. Alex and Mateo ate a healthy snack for lunch under a shady tree. Alex went to throw it away and Mateo stopped him. She showed him a special bin for his scraps. She also introduced him to her special friend. Enjoy the reading or listening.
