I loved Sharon's character! She was such a bad ass! No fear, no hesitation, just get answers and the job done! I cannot believe all the players in this thing! The lengths that people would go for revenge. Wow! The twist with Miguel I never saw coming! That ending left the door open for more, and I sure hope we get it! Great read! 👍👍👍
This was the conclusion to a twisted story. I hope this isn't the end of the story. I have too many unanswered questions about Miguel, are Brooks ready dead. Who sent Sharon that letter? It's so many questions I want to know. I would recommend.
The books had too many inconsistencies for my liking. These books were supposed to be a romantic suspense, unfortunately the romance too a back seat. Let’s start with the romance. I couldn’t see it, lust yes, love no. Sharon was rude, abrasive and uncaring. First off who hates someone because a relationship didn’t materialized after a kiss in high school? Completely childish. Gus’ brother died murdered but she was more interested in solving a mystery than making sure that Gus was ok. She should have never let the detective ask him questions when he was in such a state. Get them to get a warrant. Worse she dared kiss the detective in Gus’s home but she had the gall to berate him about secrets, completely disrespectful and that’s after she’s been flirting with the detective and called him Miguel. She dared tell Gus that he was rude to the detective who let’s not forget made it his life mission to get Gus convicted of various crimes he didn’t commit. She should have kept her distance and clearly not be all chummy. Actually she kept going rogue, keeping information to herself defending Brooks’s behavior instead of taking a step back and look at things differently. Her violent tendencies really grated as well. I hate when women go around slapping men, kneeing them etc just because they are frustrated. We are not toddlers, use your words. It’s as bad as men being physically abusive. Her whole tantrum, leaving to go to a hotel, having dinner with Brooks, leading him on was appalling. She’s supposed to love Gus but is quite happy to flirt left and right. However disappointed she was, refusing to listen to the story, trying to hurry up the details, believing Miguel (someone she barely knows) over Gus was so frustrating. Her hollier than thou attitude was too much. As Gus said, would she have preferred that he let Raphael go to jail and her sister put in a position where she couldn’t practice law? As for the mystery, it was over the top and again little credible. I found it unbelievable that knowing what happened years back Gus wouldn’t use top notch security to check everybody in his circle. As he didn’t come across as self centered, i would thInk that he would have been paranoid. Knowing Miguel’s obsession with Gus why would Sharon ask him of all people for help and why didn’t she investigate him? As an aside I didn’t like Donna either. First she was too overbearing and 2 she seems to suffer from the same illness as her sister, slapping men without expecting them to slap back.
