Haunted by tragedy, all Chloe Gietz wants now is to be left alone. But when an unexpected dilemma arrives at her doorstep, she must return to the one place where her nightmares began: the dangerous, crushing depths of the Arabian Sea.

The deadly marine organisms are back—and they’re out in force. After a US Navy salvage operation goes horrifically wrong, a multinational task force is deployed. Their orders: wipe out these genetically engineered creatures from the world’s oceans.

Yet all is not what it seems, for evil lurks not just in the deep, but on the surface as well. Chloe and her allies must do all they can, for humanity’s very survival is now at stake.

This series has been a guilty pleasure of mine for months now. Admittedly, the first in this series was horribly written but I'm glad I stuck with it because each installment has shown improvement and this one is the best by far. I'm a sucker for giant sea monster stories and this has all the usual elements which make them fun: huge underwater creatures, stereotypical foreign villains, lots of action and minimal thinking required. Take the submersibles from The Meg and the Kaiju from Pacific Rim, throw them together and you have this book. Yes it's cheesy, and you really can't take it seriously, but it's a fun ride. If this is the end of this series, it's a fitting finale.

Another perfect continuation of the Proteus Project story line. Not overly scientific detailed, but just enough to put a shiver up your spine if reading this alone in your house. It almost makes you think twice before diving and maybe what is really down under the sea? A not bad comparison to Steve Alten's Meg series. Unlike his Meg storylines, this author's series is more based on man's obsession with science. Man creates monster and has the audacity to think man could control said monster, but obviously monster gets loose and must be destroyed. The ego that man has.

This was a great end to the series. the story did not get bogged down in detail like others can. It moved right along, good and realistic characters. Also interesting to see characters develop over the series of books.

A Thrill a Minute

Along with the other books in the series, this one keeps you reading well into the night. Excellent characters and just enough science to keep it real. Totally enjoyed this book
