To Have Her Again

Rate this book
Myles Abbott was a hustler by nature. His reputation as an astute dealer superseded him. However, he’d give it all up to have and to hold the woman his heart belonged to. If only he didn’t hesitate. Reluctantly accepting her departure, he dove deeper into the same street life he was ready to leave behind. Putting up a wall around his heart, he determined love would never get him again.

Everleigh Noble was torn apart when she was forced to decide the safety of her family would triumph over her lover’s heart. Over time, burying the agony of her choice, she finds a way to prosper. She almost has it all; a dream career and a rich, handsome fiancé. Still, something’s not right. Below the surface is where her true heart beats.

Years later, tragedy strikes, bringing Myles and Everleigh together. The past refuses to be left behind. Yet, when secrets are revealed, and old wounds resurface, some things will live while others will need to die. Will their love be amongst what survives?

Everleigh and Myles showed up and showed out in To Have Her Again! This book has it all. Love, betrayal, sex, death, and humor. Myles was portrayed as this ruthless and hardcore former drug dealer but, that's just one side to his personality. Don't get me wrong; Myles is bout' that life but, he was also sweet, caring, loving, and sensitive. He was no different from the Ross brothers when it came to Everleigh. This man loved hard and went hard for his woman. Everleigh and Myles reunite 12 years after their break-up when her mama dies. When they see each other, it's like time never happened. The attraction, chemistry, and sexual tension are still there and they waste no time acting on it. Once they're back together, the truth about why Everleigh really left comes out and Myles is not a happy camper. Not only was she forced to leave because, his friend was threatening her but, Everleigh was also pregnant. When Myles finds out she lost the baby, lets just say Jory got his. Myles had to remind him and us who he was. Everleigh and Myles were able to get past the secrecy and betrayal, find forgiveness, and start their new life together. I was so excited we were able to catch up with the Ross brothers, Braelynn, Jaelynn, and Myla. Chiiiiiiile, those girls are spittin' out babies like sunflower seeds. Ms. Delilah went from having no grandkids to having eight and one on the way. Not my uterus! I'm so sad this series has finally come to an end. To Have Her Again was a really good book. Everleigh and Myles endured a lot but, they made it on the other end to get to their HEA.

Myles and Everleigh were once in a relationship that ended when Everleigh packed up and left for LA. More than a decade later, they meet again under less than ideal circumstances.

Everleigh's mother had a stroke, and Myles is there to comfort her in her time of need, having stayed close to her parents ever since the break up. But what about Easton, Everleigh's fiancé? Will he get in the way of their happiness?

I wasn't super attached to Myles during the past books, but I am now. He's so protective over the people he loves, and I loved when he punched Easton for what he did to Everleigh. And then when he took care of someone else that may or may not have caused their original breakup in the first place.

HE GETS STUFF DONE!!!

Similarly to Heal My Heart, this one also had some heavier themes that the characters had to deal with. That was handled nicely, I didn't feel like the resolution was too quick.

We also got cameos from the other characters, and I find it so funny that they keep popping out kids, while at the same time a lady who has 15 kids was on TV (I was reading in the living room and it was on), perfect sync. NOBODY HAS 15 KIDS HERE THOUGH, at least not yetttt.

I kid I kid, but I would love more updates on them all. And potentially even more spinoffs. I AM NOT READY TO LET THEM GO YET. Luckily, I know there's update novellas on them all, but I don't think that will be enough. I NEED MORE.

This Was Such A Good Story

Myles was that guy! He was so loving that when Everleigh returned home to see about her mother the two of them basically re-connected immediately…I love a good second chance story. Myles more than showed his Ev that he was now grown and that he was in the next faze of is life living good. I loved Myles frankness…he was always up front and honest. I also love how he dealt with his supposedly friend Jory…..he had everything coming to him because he was a snake from the beginning and Ev’s intuition about him was totally correct. I can’t wait for the update about the two of them to come out.

Love Delayed

Aww Myles finally got his woman! Myles has been the supportive big brother not even thinking it was possible to settle down in the previous books, so it was nice to see him get the girl he thought got away. This was a 2nd chance love story and I was here for it!

Myles was my favorite dude in this series. All the other's were cool, but he was definitely giving that BDE. The fact that he had left the streets to pursue his own business was the icing on the cake. This may sound shady but I loved that he iced the females out, there was no kissing and he was protective over his seed. He made sure they were clear on his intentions and I respected that. Even though 12 years had passed, he could only imagine a future with one woman and he was unsure if he would ever get a chance to love her. An unfortunate situation brings Myles back to Everleigh and he knows THIS time he can't let her go. Leigh was still head over heels in love with Myles and their chemistry was off the charts like it had always been. The secrets of their past threaten to disrupt their union with the pain and uncertainty it caused. They were able to work through it and claim the beautiful love they had always had for each other. The ending was too sweet.

I will say I love to feel the emotions of the characters. I believe the attempt was there, but it didn't quite make this reader feel their pain. Overall, I enjoyed the entire series.

Waiting on this one

I thought the other three couples book were good, but this one was great. I was so ready to read about Myles. I'm so happy he got his true love back. I would go on and on, but I do not want to spoil it.

This Book Has It All!!

This book has it all...love, sex, sadness, laughter, and characters with their own identities! I just loved the whole book. This was my first time reading anything by this author and it will not be my last. I couldn't believe she said that Myles did not originally have a story. I was like, whaaat?!! If THIS is the kind of story you write unplanned, I can't wait to read your other work!

I see you Miss Kay! For Myles not to have a story, he had a lot to say! You did a hell of a job creating this for us, (per our begging on Goodreads) and we thank you! 😁 In the other stories, I only saw Myles as this cold, calculated guy, who only cared about money, his sister and mother. Here you allowed us to really "see" Myles. We saw that he was capable of love, and that he loved hard with Leigh, and was devastated when she left. Although the situation of their reunion, was not a good one, it may have all been in God's plan. They were meant to meet up at exactly this time, to rekindle what once was. Leigh, girl didn't you know your man was a beast? How could you not trust him, and let him in on your fears? However, I see her point of view as well. She had also gone through a lot during her time apart from Myles, and I was sad for what she had to endure alone. Both Myles and Leigh matured and grew so much, that they were ready for everything once reunited. So glad that they were able to overcome all of the darkness, and find forgiveness. The love they shared would not be denied, no matter how hard it was to leave the past, in the past. Another great read! Really enjoyed Myles' story. 👍👍👍

Definitely a book I’ll be reading AGAIN & AGAIN

To Have Her Again by Kay Shanee is about retired dealer turned car detailer Myles Abbott and celebrity photographer Everleigh Noble. Myles and Everleigh dated many years ago, when they broke up she moved away. Circumstances bring her back home and in the arms of Myles. Although Everleigh has “moved on” and engaged she realizes that Myles is her one true love. Myles is an alpha and I’m here for it! I wanted to fight him a couple times but for the most part he had it together 👏🏽. He has a mouth on him, he talked a good game. I was like ... I like that (proceeds to highlight)😏🤤🤪. But he also backed it up! I love the relationship he has with Everleigh’s parents even after they broke up. Everleigh and Myles are inevitable! I was happy to see characters from the spin-off series!

First love

Recounting with your first love is always emotional. With time to think, heal and grow Myles and Everleigh were able to come back and start fresh. Once everything was discussed, they realized that their love for each other never left. I loved how they both were mature enough to right their wrongs. It was also nice catching up to previous couples in other books. Great job Kay. A nice holiday novella with all those kids would be nice😀

Myles for Ever

Myles had a forever lover for his girl Everleigh. I knew his story would be intense, and the story would be delivered in a measured fashion. Myles personality alone was enough to know this would not be one to miss. His relationship with Everleigh's parents after their breakup was wholly unexpected. The story was too amazing, and the happily ever after for Myles was perfect.

Loved This Storyline

I loved Myles and Everleigh’s love. It’s crazy bc had her mom not passed away they might now have ever gotten together again. Her ex tried it by putting his hands on her but Myles handled it. Ummm Myles is definitely BAE. He wanted to get his girl back and realized he needed to mature to have the love that they needed. Loved this storyline and can’t wait to read more.

First, let me say that Myles was truly a boss! His personality had me smiling, laughing and cheering him on as he reclaimed his one true love. I was like "Bruh, talk yo shit!" Myles was real and raw but loved hard and wasn't afraid to show it. After years apart he and Leigh reconnected and it was like they hadn't been apart for all those years. Thank you Kay for telling Myles' story and thank you for catching us up on the Ross brothers as well. Leigh proved that there is always more below the surface. She wasn't from the streets but knew what it was like to sacrifice and go without. This story had everything one would need--laughter, tears, finger snaps, eye rolls, hugs and everything else.

Myles and Leigh

I just knew Myles was gone find someone in Chicago and move too. But he got that old thang back in Leigh. Who would’ve thought her reasons for leaving was because of someone else. She should’ve trust her man and told the truth. I get why she didn’t. But everything happens for a reason. The way he stayed in touch with her parents was touching and they helped him to continue to grow as a man. Despite the sad moments, Myles got his woman back and she got her man.

Myles is bae just like I thought

Myles lived up to be just as good as I thought he would be. Fine, compassionate, loyal, and rough around the edges. We always knew that he was a force to be reckoned with but Everleigh showed us just how so. I loved that this wasn’t one of those unrealistic stories of reuniting. There was baggage to unpack, healing required, and grace and forgiveness to be given. I cheered at times, laughed at times, and wanted to through my phone say times. However, I enjoyed every moment of this story.

Emotional rollercoaster but what a ride! This is the kind of connection you search for, you dream for for, you wish upon a star for. Myles and Everleigh were soulmates....pint blank period.

It was great catching up with the Ross brothers and their brood. This was a fabulous emotion filled story, as usual.

Glad for Myles story

I am so glad for this anticipated story. Whew they went through it but grateful that love prevailed. Glad that Everleigh did not settle and went for the love of her life. Was not a fan of Easton nor Jory...Jory was the worst. If you have not invested in Kay Shanee's works please start. She gives us genuine love stories with great character development.

Worth the Wait!

I have been looking forward to Miles story and it was so worth the wait! Miles and Everleigh had some undeniable chemistry. Time didn't break or diminish their connection, if anything, it got stronger. I loved how Everleigh's parents maintained a strong relationship with Miles. The reason for her return home was sad, but it was the catalyst for these 2 getting back to where they always should have been. It was great to see the other couples. And Ev's friends from Cali were hilarious, maybe we'll see them again in their own stories. Thank you for another great story!

Cute love story 💗

This was a cute little love story. I enjoyed both Myles and Everleigh. I have the book 4 🌟 because of the copious amounts of narration. I felt like I was watching an episode of "The Dukes of Hazzard", with all of the narration breaks.

Great story!

Wow! This was a great book! I didn't know that the other characters mentioned towards the end were already developed... Even without knowing about them, the book was still really good. The perfect amount of drama and plenty of sweet love ❤ It had its' sad moments with the deaths that occurred, but it was an beautiful story nonetheless!

Full Circle

Full circle moment completed. I enjoyed this book and you will too. Not often that you read about a woman that is determined not to settle, not leave the ones she loves at risk, and chase her dream.
Nice ending to the the series. Leigh was determined to live the life she wanted. Myles was determined to leave the life he knew behind to become the man he was destined to be.
