A new kind of serial killer draws Skye into a twisted web of cat and mouse. What seems like a missing person case quickly spirals into a complicated puzzle. Was the first abduction random or something else entirely? Has an innocent flirtation led to murder? Is she dealing with a madman who wants to hurt her family? When the killer sets his sights on a member of her team instead, the threat becomes all too real. But nothing makes sense. The pieces aren't fitting together. Without answers, she races against the clock before he strikes closer to home. She won't let anything happen to the people she loves. But will she be too late?
Vickie's novels have consistently appeared on Amazon’s Top 100 lists in Contemporary Romance, Romantic Suspense and mystery / thriller. She writes what she loves to read -- heartwarming romance laced with suspense, heart-pounding thrillers, and riveting mysteries. Vickie loves to write about compelling and down-to-earth characters in settings that stay with her readers long after they've finished her books.
She's the author of twenty novels and numerous short stories with no plans to slow down. She's looking at a busy 2017, adding a new book, Beneath Winter Sand, to her Pelican Pointe Series and releasing a fifth Skye Cree book, Truth in the Bones. Plus, she has plans to begin a brand new series, in a brand new setting. Stay tuned for updates by subscribing to her mailing list.
Vickie writes full-time. But when she does take a break from banging out the next novel, she loves to get outside. Even though hanging out at the beach is at the top of her list, there's nothing quite like a long, soul-searching walk through the woods, daylight preferred, of course. I highly recommend you start at book one. You will miss so much growth and understanding of the Spirit Wolf Kia if you don't. Yes you can read this as a stand alone, but will it envelop you, touch on all your senses, bring you the family joy, the creep factor and so much more? Maybe, probably, because she is that good of an author. Vickie McKeehan is an auto buy. I have read all her series but one, and getting ready to binge those after I finish her current Skye Cree series. Skye has always been on a quest for justice, to right the wrongs for children, teens,in particular finding the missing. With her husband Josh and the Artemis Foundation and her friend and retired police detective, Harry she continue her mission and juggles that with having her own child. There is so much more to these books, the Native Spirit Guide, Family, the underlying issue of our missing youth brought to the forefront. Read this series and be entertained. #downamongthebones #vickiemckeehan #skyecreeseries
Artemis Foundation solved Psycho-Assassin For Hire! 4.75 *****
Brayden, latest rescued addition to TeamArtemis, was targeted by a fellow college student to locate her missing cousin. Upon investigating Skye and Josh located the holes in Dani’s story, and located the adducted, now deceased cousin, Emelia among other skeletons at a circular altar, as Skye followed her spirit guide, Kiya. They unknowingly found a psychopath that is also a serial killer/hire assassin. His multiple dumping sites and booby trapped log cabin discovery ultimately made them his next targets by attacking Sierra and her parents. Unbeknownst to Jurgen, Sierra with Kiya, and her command attack puppies were his ultimate downfall, both literally and figuratively.
Gravity defying plot and characters you find yourself gravitating towards as this novel unfolded before you. The knowledge of Jurgen’s sudden conversion from Pope’s loyal guard to psychopathic/ assassin for hire was not explained apart from steroid abuse, but this tidbit would have been a fascinating addition to this novel. The local and state law enforcement officers disconnect reflect our societal concerns and issues currently. The theme of comeuppance for those who think they can break the law and murder others, without punishment or impunity, ran through the storyline. Sierra has grown to be my favorite character as her bond with Kiya grows stronger. At least Skye and Josh heed her warnings! A Must-Read!

Love this series. Have enjoyed the characters from the the first book in this series. A great team committed to family and helping find missing people that have fallen through the cracks. I love how they puzzle out the smallest (seems to be unimportant) detail to help them identify the killer. So far I have not read a Vicki McKeehan book/series that I have not thoroughly enjoyed. I hope this series doesn’t end.
The team is hard at work trying to find a kidnapped woman, supposedly taken by a serial killer, before she's found dead. This killer is different though and it's throwing off everyone's game. This an intense book full of just about every kind of bad guys there are.
Another of my favorite series. A killer with no known motive nor M. O. These books are dark but so good. The team/family keeps expanding but in a good way with former rescued victims now signing on and taking part in the search and rescue. There were so many twists and turns with this book because even though you have one main bad guy, he may not be the only one.
I've enjoyed this entire series! I've watched the characters grow and change, and interact! Many times I've been on the edge of my seat, and couldn't put the books down! I look forward to the next one, I hope!
I like following up on these characters. I dislike serial killers and normally don't read that type of material. However, this series of books binds a special group of people together without relying on steamy sex sessions. The author is predictable, but good.
Brayden brings a case of a missing girl to the team. While investigating this, they discover a serial killer is involved. While I like that Sierra communicates with Kiya, I miss having the wolf in the action.
I enjoy all of Vickie McKeehan's books. I have read all of the series and look forward to reading more as she writes them. I love the series when you feel you know the characters and add new ones each book. There is always an element of suspense, too!
Another book in the Skye Cree series, I have read them all and they are great page turners. This time it starts with a missing student that quickly turns into something more sinister. Skye, Josh and their team are hard at work trying to find the kidnapped girl when Kira, Skye’s spirit guide, leads her to a burial site and so the hunt for a serial killer intensifies. I have enjoyed this series and love how the characters develop throughout. Vickie McKeehan is one of my favourite authors and never disappoints with her supernatural thrillers.
