A really good ending to a series that was interesting and carried us through a lot of emotional drama and trumoil in this amazing small town. Link and Elise were made to be together.

*Note* I agree with another reviewer that it was very hard to get past all the grammar and editorial errors but it was worth it in the end.

Slow Kind of Love is the story many would like to experience later in life, especially if first loves don’t last long or were less than great. Enjoyable characters, steamy scenes and a roller coaster of emotion. A very enjoyable read.

I liked Elise and Link’s age gap romance because of the dilemma Elise struggles with because of her worries over what her son and the town gossips will think of her. Crystal Lake is a small town where everyone has an opinion and they aren’t afraid to share it so her concerns are valid but if I was in her shoes I wouldn’t hesitate to lock that man down. I liked Link’s British accent, his lack of artifice, his outrageous confidence both in and out of the bedroom, and his single minded pursuit of Elise which is highly appealing. I sympathized with the marital drama of Elise’s best friend Heather and enjoyed the close friendship between Poppy and Link which was really sweet. While the breakup storyline was totally predictable and the ending was really rushed I still enjoyed the rest of the story. However, I wonder why the author reveals weighty topics like physical and verbal abuse, and parental neglect as though they don’t leave emotional scars worth exploring? An in depth conversation between Link and Elise where the characters bond through sharing their past heartache would have been much more dramatic in my opinion.

There are so many errors in this book, way more than her other works. So many that it became very jarring to read. Don’t get me wrong I really do like her writing. I’ve even purchased most of her books and l really enjoy them, but not so much this one. I hope her next book has a better proof reader.
