Matthew Abram Groening is an American cartoonist, television producer and writer from Portland, Oregon.
Groening is best known as the creator of The Simpsons. He is also the creator of Futurama and the author of the weekly comic strip Life in Hell. Groening distributed Life in Hell in the book corner of Licorice Pizza, a record store in which he worked.
He made his first professional cartoon sale to the avant-garde Wet magazine in 1978. The cartoon is still carried in 250 weekly newspapers.
Who exactly are these poor souls that gave this book 2 stars?? The subtitle is 'A Big Book of Posters' and it's EXACTLY that. If you don't like the Simpsons (or don't like posters), why did you even pick this book up? This book has so many amazing Simpsons posters - more than they needed to give us and probably more than we deserve (The B Sharps poster? holy shit). Let me list the ways I love this book: It's large; the colors are vibrant; they are hilarious; and the book itself is surprisingly cheap. The posters are meant to be torn out, but honestly it makes a beautiful art book. What more do you want? Do YOU even know? If this gift from God can't get 5 stars, I don't really know how humanity collectively is going to agree on anything else.
