Common sense tells you that you would know if you were evil, but what about the freaking anti-christ?

Quite ironically, my name is Faith, and up until a few days ago I was just a normal waitress working a dead end job just to get by. My life was going perfectly crappy just like everyone else, and my dumb ass had to go and screw it up looking for love.

When a mysterious dating app installs itself onto my phone I cave and take the bait.

Little do I know the four blind dates I’m matched with are actually the four horsemen of the apocalypse, and my life is turned upside down like the crosses they wear around their necks.

I barely have enough time to process that angels and demons exist because every angel and their momma is descending from a corrupt heaven to kill me.

Backed into a corner I’m left with two choices- try to plead my innocence to God and his army, or become the anti-christ they all think I am and build my own.

Are good and evil really as black and white as they're tying to make them out to be?

Heaven's Devil is the first book in a brand new series by Storm Song. It's a new take on good versus evil, angels and demons, heaven versus hell. This reverse harem was a crazy and steamy mess and things are just getting started.

The story centers on Faith a twenty-five-year-old who thought her life was and I quote "a dumpster fire" and that was before all the crazy happened. Faith's life has never been normal, her mother had mental issues and constantly moved them around, never stay in the same place for long, saw things, and had weird rituals, and Faith took after her mother, not to mention the anger issues. So Faith is crazy... not gonna sugar coat it. I mean she can mostly function, she knows what's normal and what's not, so she knows she's not normal plus she has a problem with her filter, things just come flying out of her mouth before she can realize what she is saying. All that said I like her, she doesn't take any crap, she gives as good as she gets, and she's weird, all the things I like. I also like she can hold her own in a fight and things don't come to her right away when stuff goes left, she is trying to piece everything together and isn't sorry about it.

So it's the apocalypse and the four horsemen have shown themselves and of course, they are hotter than sin. Jonas was adorable, he gives off that feeling that you've known him for a while and are totally comfortable with him, Atticus is an ass who has his own anger issues, Niklaus is cocky and as for Roman the jury is still out on him, he seems nice. I figured out who Famine and War are but as for the other two, I have no idea which horseman is which. It's kinda funny that the Horsemen of the Apocalypse meets little Faith and has no idea what to do with her, she is brash, loud, tough, all attitude and a runner, but there is something there, an attraction and I can't wait to see this relationship develop further.

Storm has a totally different take on the Angel mythology, it's kinda wild. God kinda reminds me of Chuck from the tv series Supernatural and if you watched the series until the end, then you know that's not a good thing. The way Storm explains things, was different than what I'm used to but interesting and a little confusing. I am really curious how the Horsemen fit into that scheme and how Faith is gonna affect everything because she obviously is.

Heaven's Devil was a quick and fun read, it really kept me on my toes because so much crazy was happening. I was highly entertained and enjoy it but I have no idea what's going on, things were so crazy and I have a few questions I want answered. The story ends on a cliffhanger and I am looking forward to seeing where the story goes next.

Amazing storyline

The fmc has anger issues, she feels helpless with what’s happening to her but her sassy character doesn’t take crap from no one! The storyline moved along properly, giving us glimpses and tying together plot holes. I can’t wait to read the next one!

This might be my favorite Song series yet. I’m a sucker for Antichrist coming to power stories! True, it needed some editing, but I flew threw this like nothing. The lore is a slow burn but the sex isn’t. Such an interesting way to write this!

Good book

Found this on tiktok, definitely didn’t disappoint!! I’ll be waiting for the second book to come out, and will most definitely look into other books by this author.

Kind of disappointed

Just a very long drawn out story. It is 95% Faith thinking and, as much as I like detail I prefer actual dialogue in a book. There was none. A bunch of one liners and then pages of Faith analyzing again. The sex was boring and forced. I could barely finish the book although I did hoping it would get better but it didn’t.

But it just might be a lunatic you're looking for...

"Turn out the lights, don't try to save me."
Faith has spent her entire life knowing her mom was bat crap off her rocker and had taken her with her. Normal people don't shout at the sky, pleading with God when their kids are just acting like kids. Especially when they're weird about not following religion. Between episodes like that, constantly moving around and the shadow figure that she sees she knows her brain has issues. She's ok with that, actually. But somehow, on 12:01 of her birthday, after a horrible day of threatening her boss (he started it) and losing her job and her friends- such as they were, she gets so blindingly drunk that she does the 1 thing her mom asked her not to do. How that 1 thing led to some random, and oddly named, dating app with plans for 4 dates in 1 day...not a clue.

Spoilers ahead.
Faith knows she is cracked. She's learned to adapt and, mostly, function. She reads more like just turning 18 than someone who's been an adult for 7yrs. And I think that if the author had tried to do it that way, as a coming of age, it may have worked better. Well, except for the sex scenes. Those didn't for the story at all, no matter her age. Trigger warnings for basically being goaded into sex, both times, which I see as coercion, and therefore not 100% consenting. These are beings, that, according to 1 vague sentence, seem to be at least a century old. Possibly more, that's just how long they've been hiding on Earth. So, they know what is coming, have planned for it, have grown up and hardened over a century, and while she may have thrown them for a loop, should have had better control of themselves than they did. They read more like 18-20 themselves. It felt like more of a "she is too tempting, so why resist", "it's all her fault anyway" than anything else. This isn't slow burn, it isn't romantic, there are no happy bonding moments. It is a she thinks she's broken, finds out she's center of a plot that has been foretold for eons, and then even the horsemen are surprised by what they discover about her parentage. Other than an uncomfortable grudge sex scene after much goading, and another digital penetration scene that read pretty much the same, that's the book. Oh, and apparently the city took some damage that probably was somehow attributed to her but isn't directly mentioned. I was looking forward to a new twist on mythology/theology and while parts of it were entertaining, others made me very uncomfortable. It's like someone took basic theology and turned it on its ear (which I quite enjoy), then created a main character from a Billy Joel song, swirled it together, patted it on its back and let it run amuck. The randomness just starts to come together when the book ends. Some of it was charming, some of it was beyond awkward. I am curious enough about book 2 to look for it but will probably abandon it if certain themes are still in play.

Writing - 4 stars
Characters - 4 stars
Plot - 4 stars
Overall Rating - 4 stars
Burn level - Medium/Fast-burn
MCs - Faith, Niklaus, Jonas, Atticus, Roman

Song's writing style in Heaven's Devil is exciting, bubbly, and sarcastic. I really enjoyed her style and how engaging it was to read. She's able to establish Faith's character really well with the way she wrote her inner-monologue. I did find Faith to be a little overly self-deprecating at times. I get that Song is trying to show how shitty Faith's life is like right now, but maybe she wouldn't feel the need to keep telling us that if she showed it a bit more. It would've been less annoying and easier to accept and realize on our own without being spoon-fed. But other than the excess 'woe is me', I thought Song's writing flowed well.

As I said earlier, I really enjoyed Faith's character. She was sassy, she was confident, she was honest with herself and called herself out on her own bullshit. We love a self-aware MC.

Jonas was an interesting character introduced, and I thought the author did some excellent characterization for him. We get scenes in the beginning with him and Faith where he's very warm and encouraging and moments where we got to see him as a leader and mediator. I liked the balance Song had for him; he wasn't an asshole, but he wasn't sweet enough to give me a toothache. He stood with his 'brothers' when Faith was acting like a bitch, but also understood that she had no idea what was going on. I did feel like we didn't get as much time with him near the end as the others, though. In fact, the only character we got even less time with than Jonas would have to be Roman, but he was introduced pretty late, and I'm excited to see where Storm goes with his characterization in the next book.

Atticus...Oh, Atticus...We meet Atticus midway through the book, and I gotta say...I wanted to slap him. I wanted Faith to slap him. Don't get me wrong, the scene near the end of the book was hot as hell (pardon the pun), but I kinda wished she'd slapped him and then kissed him. It would've been a bit more of a satisfying beginning. But it was quite a ride. Atticus is a bit of the pissed off at the world guy, bit of a thinks the world owes him a favour guy, and just overall the guy you'd be willing to fuck as long as you can put a gag on his mouth, so you don't gotta hear him flap his gums.

Niklaus was an intriguing character. He was also the only other character I wish Faith had slapped. He was mysterious, sexy, and angsty as fuck, which I liked. He was also super snarky, which created some great banter with Faith. I think he's gonna end up having one of the most interesting character-arcs out of all of the guys Song is giving us. I'm curious to know more about his plague doctor mask, and I can't wait to read the story behind it.

The plot was a bit...slow. If you've read any of my previous reviews, you'll know I'm someone who doesn't like it much when authors drag out certain plot points for long periods of time. Now don't get me wrong, I like the day-to-day stuff when done right. I feel like that's when we see what the characters are actually like, when we see how they view and treat everyday life & people. But I also think it should be more in the middle of the book than in the beginning.

With Song's book, I felt like she was trying to build a lot of anst by showing how much Faith life sucks and how she's been making all the bad decisions and how the universe tries to screw her over and how weird she and her past are...that we don't get to the plot.

The plot should be more around meeting the four horsemen of the apocalypse (and not just for the romance), those in heaven going after her, her discovering more about her mysterious past...That is the intrigue I'm looking for. I get that Song might've been trying to build up the tension with the mystery on all the weird shit going around her...but I kinda felt like that took up too much of her focus.

Now, when Song actually does get to the more juicy plot bits, it is awesome. She's creating this great dynamic with the characters; she's giving us a lot of world-building that isn't just info dumps. We're learning more about Faith's past. We're having a good time, and the story does not feel so stagnant. And that's honestly what I'm here for. I love Song's concept and idea for this world and characters, and I am here for it. This is the story that I want to read, and I'm excited to continue reading.

And that about sums up my review of this book. Quick apology for not getting this done earlier. This has been a shitty month/year/I'm so done with this what is the point of life moment, but I'm trying to stay on top of things and getting shit done. I'm so thankful for the opportunity to read this story and see it taking place, and I can't wait to get started on the next book just as soon as it's done.

Heavens Devil was such a unique read. I loved that right away it started out with nothing but action and it didnt stop. You have Faith who is working at a dead end job as a waitress when weird things start happening.. Somehow she ends up on a date with one guy which goes horribly wrong, then ends up with another guy which ends up with her fighting for her life..And its only the 4 horsemen of the apocalypse that she ends up with. After messing around with a family heirloom Faiths life is about change and NEVER be the same again. We see her on this journey with these men and its hilarious and sexy and action-packed all at once. I enjoyed it immensely.
The journey continues as she is thrown literally in with the guys. She loses her home and ends up having to stay with them, not what she wants but in the end she realizes its best. They have run-ins with opposing forces-angels and we find out that each horseman has a devastating curse.Wait til you all read about leather gloves. Never feel the same way again. All in all it went by so quick and I cant wait for the next one...It does end on a cliffhanger but a very good read and the first I have read from this author. Im excited to see what happens and get to see some interactions with all of the guys..

This book had an amazing plot and read really fast. It did feel like it only started to go somewhere within the last couple chapters but then again it’s only around 200 or so pages so can’t really expect it to just jump into everything straight away as that wouldn’t be as intriguing.

I liked the female MC she’s seems like a bad ass and I can’t wait to see where she goes from here in the next books. I’m really liking the Horsemen, not really gotten to know them properly yet but I’m looking forward to it. Niklaus is my favourite so far, he’s cocky, arrogant, funny, hot (even though we don’t know what he looks like yet.. he just gives the vibes). Closely followed by Atticus; he’s moody, a brute, aggressive, also hot as sin too but also sweet at the same time.

The smut in this book.. well the author wasn’t kidding in her TikToks that she doesn’t hold back with descriptions. And non of this “heat between my thighs” “core talk” or “member” “thick length”. NO she’s says what she means and gives DETAILS. Ughhh it’s amazing

AND THE GLOVE SCENE!! Oh my Lord.. IYKYK. That’s was a hot scene

Great story with a funny fmc!

Heaven’s Devil is about Faith, who has spent her whole life moving from city to city with her mother, and then alone after her mother passed. She may not like them, but she’s used to the strange things in her life. That is until four men come into her life and she finds out the real reason behind all the strange things in her life.

This book was a great mix of humor and spice. Faith cracked me up with her opinions and ways of describing things. She’s dealt with a lot and even with everything piling on she’s able to keep moving forward. And the guys..oh man, they are different equally hot.

I was so busy reading I got to the end without realizing it til There were no more pages! With the cliff that Storm Song ended this on I am so ready to read more!

**Received an ARC from the author in return for an honest review. All opinions are my own

Faith has had nightmares about a tall masked man since she was little. Her mother moved them constantly around trying to outrun “devils and angels”. Now, as an adult, Faith is fighting the same mental battle…or so she thinks~ She meets four gorgeous, perfect men…but two of them are trying to kill her~ What she believes is her reality is not~ The explanation they give her does not jive…but, it seems they are mistaken as well. Now, it is anyone’s guess who or what she is~ All she knows is seals are being broken, the apocalypse is trying to make an entrance, and she is out of patience…so what does it all mean for her and the four horsemen? This book ends in a cliffhanger~ Storm Song brings us another delightful award-winning story that makes us grip the edge of our seats in anticipation and delight. I received this as an ARC and am leaving a voluntary review.

It had a good premise. Only reason it’s 3 stars instead of 1 is because of the shadow man. He was the only character that was interesting, and had actual chemistry with Faith. If I could read a book on him alone, I would.

The rest of the men were eh, aside from Jonas who was the only other one I could stand.

Atticus was sorta funny. But I didn’t like the smutty scene with them because it was....forced? There was more chemistry with shadow man and Jonas.

Faith annoyed me with the constant whining and perverted comments. Not because she was a girl, but because it would pop up out of nowhere and during serious moments.

It was overwhelmingly obvious Faith is a shit show, but we were reminded of it every page of the book. Literally. Also she was always running away. Annoying.

Overall it wasn’t bad, I wanted to try something new and honestly read it to knock off another book from my yearly challenge. Would I continue? No. Which is a bummer.

Wow, this is totally bizarre, it felt like the author wrote her ramblings from a bad drug reaction. It starts off with a bang, with mostly inner dialogue & no clue for a reader to figure out what is wrong with this. The FMC, Faith, comes across as a raging lunatic that needs to be locked away for the safety of the world. I didn’t get far enough to see the Four Horsemen come into the picture that are mentioned in the blurb, and I don’t really care to keep reading to find out about them. I’ve not liked books by this author in the past, but didn’t realize she’s an author I didn’t intend to read more from.

At my age (60), life is way too short & my time is too important to force myself to read a book I'm not enjoying, especially when there are so many other books out there waiting to be read.

Heaven’s Devil Review

So I got this book from a friend and it seems to be book 1 of 2 but book 2 hasnt been released yet and im in tears!

Amazing beginning to what seems like a promising series! Its world building but it takes you right to the accion on chapter one so you are always on your toes wanting to know whats going on along with the FMC and as soon as we start dinding out the book ends on a MAYOR cliffhanger like mid scene sooo definite book hangover happening right now! I loved it either way, two chapters full of filthy smut which i love and one extra scene that was just as juicy 😉 pun intended hahaha!

Anyways I cant find this author on any social media platform and her website is offline so i dont have the biggest hopes for book 2 which is why im in tears! If anyone finds Author Storm Song please let her know i NEED book 2 to survive, thanks ok bye lol!

Heaven’s Devil is the first book in a brand new series, and boy did it make a good impression. Mainly focuses on creating the scene and giving us pieces of information, but it’s a captivating twist on the what we know of Heaven and Hell, good vs. evil etc. Reading the blurb, I was super excited about the inclusion of the 4 horsemen being love interests for the MC, and I was absolutely not disappointed. The varying personalities, the “curses” or “gifts” (depending on who you ask) given to them and how it has shaped their lives has kept a firm grip on my attention and I just wasn’t able to put this one down.
There are still so many questions left unanswered, not to mention the cliffhanger, so I couldn’t be more excited for book 2!

Meh

It was okay. It was engaging. The storyline flowed nicely. I wanted to enjoy the MC, but I seriously hate the line “I didn’t ask to be born.” Yeah, no one did, that’s a dumb thing to bemoan about.

Another thing was the editing. There were a lot of grammatical mistakes. And a lot of lines that came out of no where that didn’t flow with the pervious remarks. As though they’d been part of another conversation before it got edited and somehow didn’t get removed. It happened more then once and I had to catch myself and go back and see what I missed. I didn’t miss anything, they were just out of left field.

I doubt I’ll read the next one. Which is a shame. The synopsis was intriguing.

Fab story

I loved this story about Faith who meets the 4 horsemen of the apocalypse. One turns up on her doorstep one day saying she arranged a date with him via a dating app on her phone. After touching him and seeing a yellow glow appear, she legs it. Her second date appears and pretty much the same thing happens with him. She runs away again but literally bumps into the black shadow man she has been seeing all her life. Waking up in a strange place, she is suddenly surrounded by 4 men, who she learns are the 4 horse men of the apocalypse and the black shadow man wants her dead. They try to find out exactly what Faith is as they think she is the Antichrist. Once pushed into a church she grows black firey wings. Maybe her mother wasn't her real mother? Hot read.

Wow. I finished this book in one sitting i couldn't put it down.

Faith was your average gir, working to make ends meet. Her past is dark and she thinks she is going crazy when she starts to see the man from her nightmares everywhere she looks. She thinks shes still sleeping. But, shes not.

One incident leads her without a job, no roommate and 3 dates that she set up when she was drunk.

Two of the dates turn out to be something else intirely and Faith is led to believe that she is more than human.

Loved this book. Faith is not afraid to tell how it is but, you could also feel the enituon when she is trying to figure out what is happening to her and why.

Mind bending, paranormal deliciousness!

Wow!! I loved every moment of this exciting read. Filled with mystery, heat, suspense, and one amazingly snarky, bada$$ female at the heart of it all. Enter the day everything changes for our fearless main character. Many revelations will rock her world. Having been on her own for many years, it looks like things may be changing. Has her life been a lie? What secrets do her true past show? This book does a wonderful job of laying the groundwork of this new series. There's a pretty big cliffhanger, so prepare yourself going in. I for one can't wait to see what's up next in book two!!

It was all the running that did me in.

Homegirl was just constantly running her mouth and then inevitably she was being saved by one of the guys or turning around and running away.

Then, the constant dialogue of she can take care of herself, she's fighting misogyny, don't let the pink hair fool you and when it comes down to it she only followed through with her badassarey 5% of the time.

I was more interested in finding out what was in the box. Was she an anti-christ/Pandora hybrid character. Who is the shadow man? But up until chapter 17 there is no real cohesion with anyone apart from Jonas and she's just running her mouth and running away!!

I absolutely loved this book I think its my new favorite from this Author. This is a fantastic storyline it's a slow burn but I loved how it played out. Her chemistry with Atticus is hot and Jonas is such a sweetie. Can't wait to get to know Roman more in book 2. Niklaus was an unexpected surprise and glad that is in not what she thought. I could not put this book down and read it in one sitting. I definitely recommend this book. Kudos to the Author on another great book.

I just finished this book and don’t even know how it could end like that. It ended so seamlessly into a cliffhanger, I didn’t even realize it was the last page of the book. This book was fast paced but it worked so well, not like it was rushed at all. It gives the reader a good introduction to the characters and the story and leaves them wanting to know more.
I really like this new take on the four horsemen and heaven vs hell storyline and am looking forward to the next book in this series.

Honestly think this series is going to by favorite series by Storm! The plot centers around the 4 horsemen of the apocalypse, the antichrist, and possibly the end of the world as we know it. Everything is explained in descriptive detail and as always ends on a cliffhanger that just leaves you wanting more. I devoured this book in a day, my only complaint is that I have to wait for book #2! I cannot WAIT to see what happens next.

Heaven's Devil

I found this a little slow to get world building, and then just as we start find ing stuff out about Faith, it leaves us with a cliff hanger. Having said that, the writing flowed well and the story has me hooked enough to want more. I need to know what happens next. The fact that this is a RH novel is almost a side line to the story. It's very much what is Faith and where did she come from.

A new take on the Apocalypse, and the four Horseman. I like the twists in this story, things are not as we believe. A kickass FMC and 4 sexy men throw in some angels and demons and you can’t go wrong. I recommend this book. BTW this ends in a cliffhanger, RH.
