Anna Wilcox, a divorcee, never planned to entangle herself with a man again.
Then she met Cody.
How can you tell when the past is repeating? What if your heart has betrayed you before? When does a person’s faith in God become trusting in Him?
One Trusting Heart is a great inspirational romance about love, faith, and God’s perfect timing in the life of those who follow Him. Christians will be inspired and encouraged in their faith by this inspiring story of two hearts learning how to trust God in a real way.

First, I want to thank T.K. Chapin for providing me with this book so I may bring you this review.
One Trusting Heart is one of T.K. Chapin’s most insightful books with so many powerful life lessons/messages. Infact, it is one of my favorites that he has written (and I have read a lot of them). I was blown away by some of the storylines.
T.K. Chapin dedicates this book to the ones who seek truth. For you are the ones who will truly find God when you look for Him.
As always, T.K. Chapin is true to himself and his faith in this book. He always inserts it at the right time and place in the story. For me as a reader I have grown to love this aspect of T.K.’s writing. It was not til recently that I myself learned that prayers do work. Very thankful for him who is listening. ‘Now I am getting more out of T.K.’s messages in his books.
The sweet little girl in this book Emmy Jo pulled on my heart strings a lot. She was so cute, artistic, and had a huge heart of gold. Her bond with Anna was special.
T.K. Discusses some difficult topics such as divorce, cheating, alcoholism, reunion of a mother and daughter after abandonment, death of a sibling, etc.
One theme I did love was opening up your heart to love again. It was a truly beautiful love story that made me believe in love again.
One Trusting Heart is a testimony to faith. Yes, it’s a book of fiction… but is it really? The lessons learned here are real. The insecurities, the hurting hearts and the betrayals experienced are real life. Lessons learned in the book make this worthy of Five Stars
It’s not easy to trust after betrayal. Both Anna and Cody know very well the pain of cheating spouses. They suffered all the emotions of loss. It’s a hard path, a long journey, but step by step G_d leads them, and they don’t even realize it. His timing is perfect, if not easy, with these two imperfect people.
Moving on from past hurts doesn’t happen overnight. And when you think you’ve finally succeeded, something happens to resurrect those insecurities and doubts. Both Colt and Anna had lessons to learn. Both suffered from the actions of their adulterous spouses. Both got a divorce. But divorce is not forgetting. It takes time to heal and to learn to trust. However, as Cody says: “Mistakes happen, but the important thing is to learn from them.”
👁º👁 Here are some quotes in the book that made an impression:
… Cody: “I have to remember the only thing we can do is plant seeds. It’s God who makes them grow.”
… Joe: “Sometimes, it’s about doing, not waiting.”
… Cody: “Mistakes happen, but the important thing is to learn from them.”
… Anna: “Honestly, this just confirms the problem my mom had with organized religion. It’s what is wrong with churches and the people who go to them. I don’t want to go to church with a bunch of self-righteous, judgy people.” Anna shrugged. “Why would I want to be around people like that? Non-Christians are often far nicer. If this is what God’s people is all about, then I don’t want any part of it if I’m being truthful.”
🧐 WISHES & OBSERVATIONS:
Would have liked to know more about Alex.... how is he faring now? Does he ever see or feel what he did? Does he even care?
Anna wasn't very likable at first.... she came across as entitled and arrogant. Give her time, she's hurting.
Trisha never got to be likable. I never saw a real remorse from her. She was nothing but selfish.
I received an advance copy of One Trusting Heart and voluntarily am leaving my personal thoughts and observations.
I received an ARC for an honest review. One Trusting Heart is a contemporary romance by T. K Chapin. Cody, the main male character and Construction business owner, believes in God. However, he meets Anna, a non-Christian woman, and she treats him rudely at first. However, Anna has a frightening experience, and she accepts the Lord. After Anna’s experience, she has to contact him for help. While helping Anna, they grow close, and start dating. While dating they have their personal faith struggles, but they remind each other to trust and rely on God. This is the third book in the Faithful Love series. I have read each book written by this author in this series. Although they are stand-alone stories, I encourage you to read the whole series. I loved the story. The author did a good job with the plot by showing how the characters overcame their struggles, and how they encouraged each other in their faith. The theme works because the story shows how the characters were able to overcome their internal struggles, which makes the story relatable. I liked how the characters started disliking each other, but God had other plans. He brought them together, and they broke apart. However, God brought them together in the end. The story is well written and relatable. The story kept me interested in the characters and entertained by their story. I look forward to reading more of his stories.
Beautiful story with meaning. In this story we meet Anna who has been betrayed before and is not willing to trust again, and Cody a divorcee and single dad whose life has been transformed by God but he has to protect his heart as well. Can they put their pasts behind them and find love again or will those hurts haunt them forever.
One thing I loved about this story was how it dealt with not only the fact that our behavior as Christians can attract or deter others from the faith. I also love how it showed various responses to the gospel and faith, where some were searching, some resistant and others scarred from previous bad encounters. I also love how the gospel was clearly presented.
Some of my favorite quotes which are little bits of wisdom of which there are many tucked in this story. -Faith is the substance of a personal relationship with God. You cannot merely look at another person and know their faith. Sometimes, though people are going through stuff we don’t understand fully in a way God understands. -I’m just a guy trying to get through life the best I can while trying to honor God in the process. -pray for him to grow up and let it go. I mean, in reality, everyone has shortcomings
One Trusting Heart I read One Trusting Heart in a very short time. It tells an honest, believable story of Anna, a divorcee and Cody who also has a past. A gripping story from the beginning I didn’t want to stop. It is written in an easy to read style which nonetheless gets the simple but profound message of the gospel across. As Anna and Cody begin a relationship they find God a necessity if they want it to grow. Obviously there are complications in the form of Trisha, Cody’s ex-wife who resurfaces and Anna’s insecurities as a result of her ex-husband’s cheating but when they realise if they put God at the forefront of everything and accept His timing is perfect everything else falls into place. I found it easy to relate to both the characters and the gospel truths hit home to myself as I learned more deeply of Jesus’s love, grace and mercy to us all. If I had one problem it was the book wasn’t long enough - I got so engrossed in the characters I felt a little sad it was finished but having read all of the author’s other books I look forward to a future release .

This was another wonderful story by T.K. Chapin that challenges a Christian to think about truths from God. One of my favorite quotes from the book "God shines through His people when He is allowed to by that person. ....But some won't ever show God through actions. ....You can't make people do things, Right? God loved them anyway, died for them too. Learning to love others as God loves them doesn't mean they'll act the way you want. It means you'll act the way God designed you to be." I really enjoyed the character development and the way that God was shown to work through others. I was sad when the book ended and wanted more of the story. I would recommend this book to anyone who wants to be challenged to go deeper into relationship with Christ and allow Him to shine through them. I received a complimentary copy of this book but have freely chosen to share my own thoughts and opinions.
Anna and Cody have bad relationships in their past. Anna is healing from a betrayal in her marriage, Cody is moving on after a bad marriage . Cody's process is complicated by the presence of his delightful daughter. Anna comes to town to try to regroup and figure out how to move forward with her life. Romance and a relationship with a local single father wasn't part of her plan. Should she listen to God, or listen to her instincts? Should Cody get back together with his little girls mother so they can be a family again? One Trusting Heart is a solid story with well-developed characters--which is a trademark skill of T.K.'s in my opinion. I would have liked to have seen some of the secondary story lines explored a little further, this is the factor behind my 4 star rating. I was given a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review. All viewpoints expressed are my own.
T.K.Chapin has a wonderful ability to create characters who are beautifully flawed and so familiar to us. We can relate to people who have suffered a death in their family, divorce, addiction, complications of broken families and especially struggles with their faith.
“One Trusting Heart” is the story of Anna and Cody who meet under difficult circumstances and learn to accept each other’s flaws and lean on God for their way forward. My favorite Bible verse used is, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.” (Proverbs 3:5-6 NIV) Those are great words for all of us!
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily providing my honest review. Chapin’s characters make reading books like “One Trusting Heart” wonderfully relatable. I highly recommend this book.
Emma couldn’t wait to get out of the city and return to Lincoln City. Cody is working hard taking care of Emmy Jo and running his company. When Emma comes into Joes store Cody’s life will change. The characters in this book are wonderful inspirational people. You will feel God working throughout this wonderful story. I had the honor to review this book for the author for a honest review. I would give this book a higher rating than a five star review if I could.
A great story about learning to trust again. Cody and Anna where both hurt by the person they chose to marry. They need to move past that and learn to trust in each other and God. A reminder that no matter what lies in your past it does manner for the future that God has planned for you. I love how T.K quotes the scripture in his books. And reading one of his books always inspires me to draw nearer to God
I love this series. After a lengthy divorce, Anna decides to get away from L.A. and go to her uncle’s mansion in Oregon. She has it made! There’s a housekeeper/cook included and Anna just relaxes by the beach until the housekeeper gets sick and the food runs out. Anna goes grocery shopping and loses her wallet. Cody, who was acting as cashier, returns the wallet and through a series of events gets to know Anna. A book of God’s love and restoration.
Anna is ready for a change after her divorce. Cody thinks he is ready to move on after his divorce. I enjoyed the story, but the ending was quite abrupt and felt there were several issues to resolve. I did not like neither listened to the uneasy feelings they continued to receive about Trisha. Some things are not meant to be, and some people are better not in your life.
I’m never disappointed in one of T. K. Chapin’s books and this one is no exception. In fact, I think his way of weaving a story with Christian principles only improves. He has a way of making the reader feel the emotions be them heartache and joy at realizing how beautiful life is when one accepts Jesus Christ as our Savior.
This is a beautiful story that deals with a lot of real life problems. Anna and Cody's story was full of emotions and you will fall in love with little Emmy Jo. This is a book that will make you stop and think about your own life.
This is a wonderful story. Two people who had been so hurt by the person they loved. Learning to trust. This book was able to direct one to the Lord. Had some wonderful sermons incorporated in the book.
Another great book! I love reading T.K.’s books! The characters are believable and very true to life. I love how with Jesus, they were able to work through the situations. I received an ARC book to read. The review is my own.
Mr. Chapin never fails to entertain with sweet romance. But even more than that is the meaningful way he weaves in inspiration and encouragement without being preachy. I own all of his books, have read all of them, and have never been disappointed.
This is a very inspiring book. Reading about Cody giving his life to Christ is so refreshing and inspiring. Living out his new life is a very good example for all of us. Ups and downs will come into our lives, but following God will get us through.
Being burned by the man you love and being without God is a formula for disaster but with God the impossible is made possible. The heart is willing to trust again.
I enjoy this author's work. The happily ever after is a forever one. First your relationship with God, then with the man/woman you love. We are reminded that our relationship with God comes first. You have to be right with God.
Anna comes to town to start over. She is hurting from her ex's treatment of her. She has a run in with Cody a local contractor. Cody is a single Dad. Can they make it work? Or will his ex-wife mess up their chance? This is a great story, my favorite thus far.
So every happy the way this turned out. I hope Trisha doesn't hang around as she is a terrible influence for her daughter. Praying Cody, Anna and Emmy Jo find true happiness without Trisha trying to interfere .
T K never disappoints me, this book is no exception. It is a beautiful story of moving on after a heartbreaking marriage to a new relationship and hope!
One Trusting Heart, as the title suggests, is about learning to trust again after your heart has been broken. Whether your husband cheats on you, or your wife walks out on you, ending a marriage is heartbreaking. This story shows us that by placing all our faith in God we can overcome all heartache and we can learn to trust again.
Another recurring theme in this book is a reminder that we are all sinners. It is so easy to judge someone against your own criteria, but it is important to remember that we don't see the full picture that God sees. The only way we can look past judgement is to realise that we are all sinners. Look in the mirror to see your ones own faults too. Comfort comes in knowing that through Jesus we have the gift of salvation.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
