An Alpha Mountain Man Cop & Younger Curvy Heroine Romance
Lana Apparently, I just turned 18. I’m smart and focused. Genuine and empathetic. A rule-follower. At least that’s what everyone keeps telling me. A skiing accident near Wylder Peak stole almost all of my memories. What remains are tiny glimpses. Flashes. Feelings. I don’t remember who I was before. I only know who I am now. And I know what I want— Mikah. There is something between us that goes beyond the here and now. I feel connected to him on a spiritual level. Only one problem: Evidently Mikah’s boss is my older brother. Does it really matter?
Mikah I always admired Lana Hayes. She’s studious, reserved. Driven in her own subtle way. She is the best listener. I watched her grow up. I don’t normally open up to anyone. My career is my focus; I don’t need distractions. But every time I saw Lana she swept through me like a breath of fresh air. We became friends. After the accident Lana still feels that deeper, quiet bond we shared. It wouldn’t be right to take advantage of her. But she is relentless. As the police chief’s little sister she is as off limits as she is tempting. How do I convince him I’m not an opportunist—I’m just a man who’s falling in love?
Dear Readers, Ready for a whole new band of mountain men? These alpha heroes might dwell in the shadows of the Wylder Bluffs, but when duty calls, they show up. These are the mountains they call home. The mountains they protect. And when their sweet, curvy women come for them, they’ll walk through fire to keep them safe, too. No cliffhangers. No cheating. HEAs guaranteed. <3 Love, Tarin
Hi! I’m a mama of four living my dream writing romance out in the country with the love of my life! I’m a busy bee like you, so writing & reading short romance is my jam. I hope each of my stories makes you smile, makes you sigh, makes you...swoon. ;) Most of all I hope you reach “The End” feeling ever-inspired and optimistic. With me, it’s always safe, steamy & sweet, with happily-ever-afters guaranteed!
Heroine has amnesia. Her brother's friend is taking care of her but they can't fight their feelings. Sweet and safe love story with lovable characters though I needed more babies in the epilogue lol
This story was sweet and short. The woman that lost her memory after an accident and her brothers best friend. 😍😍😍😍😍A sweet, safe and romantic love story without drama. Just sweet romance😍😍😍😍
Lana Hayes, 18-years-old, thought she was still in a dream, and yet it felt real and she was seeing things like a nurse, a bed, sink, door – and she was in a hospital gown. Who is she? She is unable to speak, closes her eyes, and wakes up some time later with the same “dream”. The walls seem like vapor, but she can’t reach to touch them. Two faces appear over her, a man and the nurse? The man, supposedly her brother, calls her Lana. Who is Lana? Then a gorgeous visitor then enters the room in uniform and her heartrate increases. She knows those eyes. He’s a cop. Is she in trouble? He calls her “daisy-girl” and chuckles that she still doesn’t know his name.
Mikah had to come see Lana; Chief had also called for him to come but he had already been on the way. A skiing accident put her in a coma for three days. She is more than just the chief-of-police’s little sister. The department considers her family too. And the Chief says he wants Mikah to keep an eye on her when he can’t be with her. It’s obvious that Lana feels the bond of friendship she and Mikah had always shared. But even with her amnesia, Lana knows she wants him. He is not the kind to take advantage, but she knows what she wants. And he realizes his feelings for her have deepened and changed. Is he falling in love? Does he know that she is in love with him too?
My big objection is the use of “ain’t” when the police talk. Is it to mirror street slang or something? I saw no point to it, other than it made me wrinkle my nose every time they said it. Anyway, the best part of the book was the opening paragraphs where the reader has no idea of what’s going on. It really got my attention so I was ready for the rest of the story line. Nice effect! Grab your copy and see if there is a HEA for Lana and Mikah, or if his boss will shut down their relationship before it gets started.
Tarin Lex has quickly become one of my favorite authors and Mikah only adds to my addiction with the Wylder Bluffs Series. After an accident takes Lana's memory, her brother asks his friend, police officer Mikah to look after Lana since he is so busy as police chief. Mikah is blown away when he walks in Lana's hospital room and sees her laying there. What began as a favor turns into so much more. The more time they spend together the harder they fall. If you enjoy sweet and steamy romance you will love Mikah and Lana's story.
Lana was in a skiing accident and she ends up with amnesia. This book really hot me in the feels, I don't have experience with amnesia, but the author does a good job making you feel for Lana. Mikah helps her out so much, he's patient and kind. These two were meant for each other.
What an interesting story. Lana involved in an accident which affected her memory. Micah was asked to assist her by her brother/his boss. Very interesting story and I loved his dog!! Thanks for another good book. Written by Cindy :)
Extremely entertaining, captivating and interesting sexy read. I could not put it down. Wonderfully written with strong, intriguing characters. I want to read more from this author.
We're only hearts and bones and blood. Not only. We're also dreams, and ether, and love.
Mikah is the sixth book in the Wylder Mountain Heroes series. It is the story of Mikah and Lana Hayes. Mikah is twenty-nine years old and is a K-9 handler on the Wylder Bluffs Police Department He has been on the force for six years now, starting as a beat cop and working his way up, and is in line for a promotion to Sergeant. Lana is eighteen years old and has has skiing accident that put her into a coma for three days, resulting in brain trauma and amnesia. She does not remember who she is, where she is, or anything about her life except in bits that are like polaroid pictures flashing by. She is the younger sister of Wylder Bluffs Police Chief Dameon Hayes. Lana has always been shy and quiet, but very observant. When she and Mikah were at the same PD events they seemed to gravitate towards each other. If you were observant you would see that Lana has a crush on the handsome and sweet Mikah and he has a crush on the beautiful and sweet Lana. So when Mikah heard that Lana was starting to come out of her coma after three days he was already on his way to the hospital when he received a call from his chief asking that he come. Mikah sees the woman he calls "Daisy-girl" and realizes quickly she has amnesia. Dameon pulls him aside and asks for his help in looking out for Lana, as he is going to need help doing it over the next few months since there is so much work on the Chief's desk. Mikah of course agrees and so he and Lana start to spend time together. He is sweet, patient and very supportive of Lana as she struggles to regain her life and memories. He looks out for her, ensuring she is safe and protected, but also teaches her tricks to remember things and people thus allowing her to regain some independence. But his feelings for Lana grow stronger and hers towards him over this time...it is wrong as she is vulnerable and too young. But is she really??? This is Lana's chance to start over and determine what she wants in life and what is important to her. She knows that Mikah is important and that she wants to be with him. So one night, a few months after the accident and when she has moved into her own apartment, she has Mikah over for dinner and an evening of movies. One kiss leads to a lot of passion and she knows she is going to push him into making a choice to be with her. Let's just say that the evening is a success for both of them. But what will Dameon do when he finds out?
This is a sweet and fast-paced story with a whole lot of drama and emotion. It took me a chapter to really get into the story but once I did I was hooked and did not put it down until I was done. The Epilogue was fantastic also, pure love and lots of hearts melting all over the place.
74. Mikah: Wylder Mountain Men Heroes is the sixth book in Tarin Lex’s Wylder Mountain Men Heroes series. In this book we meet Lana and Mikah. Lana gets hurt in a skiing accident and suffers a severe bout amnesia. Micah is a K-9 specialist who works with Lana’s brother, Dameon, the Wylder Bluffs Chief of Police. Lana’s recuperation is a lengthy one. During this time, Dameon seeks Mikah’s help. Micah keeps Lana company when Dameon’s job does not allow him time to be with her. It is during these times that Lana and Mikah develop a relationship, however, they keep their feelings quiet from Dameon. Will Lana recover and life a fulfilling life? Will Dameon discover his sister’s love for Dameon? How will Dameon react? Will Mikah and Lana find happiness? There is only one way to uncover the answers to these questions and that is to read this book. This book has a character-driven romance plot. I enjoyed the lead characters, Lana, and Micah, as well as the secondary characters like Dameon. I liked Ms. Lex introduced a new character, Search and Rescue technician, Master Corporal Eli Aragon, to aid in one of Mikah’s K-9 missions. I am predicting a book on him in the future. I enjoyed the theme of this book, “living in the present as life is so fleeting” and how it is applied to finding a soul mate as part of a quest. With Autumn upon us this book is a perfect companion on a cool evening in front of a fire. Happy Reading!
A second chance to live! This is about Lana and Mikah. Lana has a skiing accident that placed her in a coma for some days, but then came out of it to only have amnesia. She has to learn to live her life once more but with her only family being the chief of police and election around the corner, he enlists the help of his buddy Mikah who has always been fond of Lana. He calls her his daisy girl then moonflower. While he is looking after her at the request of his friend and police chief (his boss), he falls head over heals for her and so does she. I love Howler, the dog and that this has an epilogue that ends with 10 years in the works. Right before the epilogue, Mikah and Aragon are out in a mission of rescue/recovery, so what happens with it? I hope it is explained in the next book.

I enjoyed Mikah and Lana's short story. It's a little different from some of the other "Wylder Mountain Heroes" stories. It's a very sweet and endearing story with some sexy and heartwarming moments. Lana has been in an accident and wakes up in the hospital with amnesia. No one looks familiar but maybe her brother. She is having a hard time distinguishing reality and memories. Then Mikah walks into her hospital room and she warms up. He seems very familiar and has a calming affect on her, but she is not sure why. Her brother, Dameon, is the police chief and ask Mikah, a police officer looking for a promotion, to help him look after her. This is such a sweet story. Mikah is so kind, loving and supportive. This is probably my absolute favorite story in this series. I really like how it developed and ended
This is a sweet and moving story. We first meet Lana as she is coming out of a coma, unfortunately she does not even remember her own name. Mikah is a family friend and works with Lana's brother. When he walks in the room, she may not remember his name, but her body remember him. Being around Lana becomes more and more difficult as their feeling begin to grow. Even thought he promised her brother to be there, he is doing it more for himself.
I love Lana and Mikah's story, they have a sweet and loving passion that will burn forever, forged from years of friendship. Mikah is a great guy when he tells Lana about the conversation he had with her brother instead of hiding it. This is a book that you will enjoy over and over.

Mikah is coming to see Lana who was injuried in a skiing accident and can’t remember who she is or anything else. Mikah is going to help her recover. He would do it whether his boss asked or not. Mikah cares about Lana. Can Mikah keep his feelings from Lana while she is recovering, healing? This is a quick story that will touch your heart, leave you feeling good.

Mikah is a police officer in Wylder Bluffs and is under Chief Dameon Hayes. When Mikah gets a call that he is needed at the hospital because Chief Hayes sister, Lana, had a bad skiing accident, he is there as fast as he can. Lana has amnesia and has been having a rough time waking up and remembering even her brother. But when Lana looks into Mikah's eyes, she gets a warm and secure feeling. Feelings have been buried and not acted upon by Mikah and Lana until a fateful kiss that sets their relationship into motion. This is a tender love story of healing from an accident and of a man who will not back down from the woman he loves. This is a fast read and book #6 of the Wylder Mountain Heroes series.
First time reading this author and I was looking for a short, easy, steamy read to squeeze in before work. And this hit the spot. Despite being a novella, the plot was unique and sweet and I loved how devoted and amazing the hero was with the heroine, calming her as she struggled with a brain injury and tried to put the pieces of her fracturing memory back together.
Safe, sweet and steamy. No abuse of any kind, no cheating, no ow/om nonsense, heroes past isn’t mentioned and heroine is a virgin, gives him the gift of claiming her for himself. HEA with epilogue 10 years out. I would’ve preferred more babies, but it was still a good ending. Will definitely check out more from this author.
First things first; I like the cover of this book! Mikah is the sixth book in the ‘’Wylder mountain heroes’’ series. This story is short, fast paced and an enjoyable read. I read this book in one sitting and was satisfied throughout. I found the writing style easy to follow, the characters likeable and the storyline enjoyable. Mikah and Lana have been friends for a while. When Lana gets amnesia due to an accident, Mikah is by Lana’s side. Will Lana and Mikah admit to their feelings for one another? The chemistry between Mikah and Lana is clear to see and I liked them together. I really liked the ending and the epilogue for this story. The storyline for this book is easy to follow and it is an enjoyable read. I cannot wait for more books from this series.
A more serious romance as our heroine has had a ski accident and now has amnesia. Her brother the Police Chief has asked Mikah to help him out in being with Lana, since being Police Chief keeps him to busy at the present time. Mikah takes the task on of helping Lana rebuild her life, as she even gets confused in current situations too. Micah already had an attraction to Lana before all of this started, and after spending more time with her it only got worse. Lana was now attracted to Micah, so what were they going to do about her brother?

Mikah is a police officer for Wylder Bluffs, but has been trying to get moved up to Sargent. When his Chief asks him to watch out for sister Lana who has recently been in an accident he agrees instantly. Only it’s not only for his boss, but because he has been in love with Lana for a while. Only they can’t cross that line. Lana wakes up from a coma and instantly knows that Mikah is important to her, she knows he’s the one for her so now she just has to show him that they belong together! Another great book in the series!

Lana wakes to find herself in the hospital with no memory of what happen, where she is and who she is or anyone around her. Mikah a deputy has alway had feeling for Lana, even though she is younger then he is, but now her brother and his boss, Chief Hayes ask him to be there for his sister, Lana, when he's not with her. Of course he said yes. As the time goes by, some of Lana's memory is coming back, but it slow and her feeling for Mikak is growing and his feelings for her is growing too. The only fear both have is, how to tell her brother that they are in love, I am volunteering to leave a review for a ARC of this book.
Lana is recovery from her ski accident in the hospital. She doesn’t remember anyone or what happened and it takes time to get back to normal. Mikah is a long time friend and it’s so clear the way he feels about her. Her brother and also the chief of police asks Mikah to look after Lana when she comes out of the hospital and it’s so amazing to read how they fall in love with one another. The chemistry and connection between the two is so sweet and the way she knows who he is makes my heart melt. Loved every word and can’t wait for the next book!

Lana has a serious skiing accident which leaves her injured and in a coma, waking up with no memory. She doesn't recognize her brother, Dameon, or his employee, Mikah. Dameon, her brother, asks Mikah to help look after Lana, and they fall for each other. Only one problem - she's off limits. This is a such a different story, with it beginning when she's so injured. It's sweet that even though she doesn't recognize Mikah, she knows somehow that he's important to her. I love that he's so patient and tender with her. Their epilogue is set 10 years in the future, when their story comes full circle.

This is the 6th book in the Wylder Mountain Heroes series, it can be read as a standalone story.
This fast-paced story is entertaining and quick to read, Mikah and Lana have a sizzling connection and when she wakes from a coma, from a ski accident, her brother, police chief Dameon asks Mikah to keep an eye and help her as she's suffering with amnesia. Their bond deepens as they spend more time together.
Another fast fun read that takes less than thirty minutes to read all set in the beautiful Wylder Mountains
Mikah has always been a little in love with the chief of police's younger sister Lana so when she is in a coma due to a skiing accident he immediately heads to the hospital to check on her. When Lana awakes from her coma the only thing she recognises is Mikah's eyes Her brother asks him to stay with her for protection when he can't be with her Yes Lana remembers that her and Mikah where friends but why does she want it to be more and will Mikah finally admit how he feels.
Such a heartfelt story. Lana had a skiing accident and she recovering in the hospital. She's got amnesia which is common for head injuries. Mikah has been a long time friend and Lana has always known how he feels about her. Lana's brother, the chief of police, he's asked Mikah to watch over Lana. Watching them fall in love was enchanting and the chemistry between them was sweet. Can't wait for the next story. Would have been 5 stars if not for the last chapter
I loved the beginning of the book. It immediately hooked me. I loved that the author as very different and unique when creating this book by involving amnesia.
I would have loved to have given this book five stars, but the last chapter kept me from doing that. Not only did everything wrap up rather abruptly, but the author kind of leaves a cliffhanger. And while I know that it is supposed to set up book two, it was a bit annoying.
Good reconstruction It's a short romance about building a relationship after the heroine suffers from severe amnesia. The story is simple and short, but still fascinating by the situation of Lana who has had a serious accident and who is supported by Mikah who was already attracted to her despite their age gap, the fact that she is his sister's chief, but also because he doesn't want to abuse from her state of weakness. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book
Lana was just in an accident. She cannot remember anything. Her brother decided that she needs a babysitter. He gets one of his cops, Mikah, to watch her. As Lana starts to remember but just "wakes up", Mikah is there. This is a sweet, short read. I love the epilogue in this one and how everything comes back full circle.
