“If you ever speak my name, or tell anyone what just happened, I’ll find out where you live, I’ll break into your home, creep into your bedroom at night, and stab you to death with a knife from your mother’s kitchen. Do you understand?”

All hell breaks loose when a teenager goes missing in a close-knit neighbourhood in East London. Avery, a sharp unassuming pensioner, sees her quiet, predictable life viciously turned on its head, and watches in horror as the people she loves crumble.

Destitute, and determined not to return to walking the streets at night, Dolly will do anything, and hurt anyone she can to grasp the better life she’s craved for so long.

Worlds collide, death is at every turn as two very different women find themselves thrust into a hidden world of money laundering, kidnap, and ritual killings - all in the name of freedom and justice.

I was born in Hackney, East London in 1988 and spent my formative years between central London and Nigeria. My British Nigerian heritage has greatly influenced my writing and personality. I love listening to and telling stories. I’m a sucker for folklore and superstition.

Currently I live in London with my son and work in digital advertising.

A good story

I found this story absorbing. I suspect Jessica is still alive, but poor Annointed was apparently burnt alive. At least her step-father assurred her of his love before escaping the burning house. Likewise poor Victory was killed by her supposed benefactor in the facility for illegal immigrants. Mohammed, business partner of Emmanuel, met a grisly death. This tale of a Nigerian gang of drugjlords masquerading as Pastors of a Pentacostal church in London could quite easily be true. Dolly and her friend were prostitutes living illegally in London after escaping Nigeria. Its an absorbing read with too many sad aspects, but a very good story despite that. It does have loose ends though which continue into the second book. Recommended.
