To the world, Kastle is a reality TV celebrity. To me, he’s the little boy who wiped my tears and convinced me not to die. We’re best friends. Soul mates. And, for one week, we’ll be lovers. Our fake relationship is just a ploy. Just a way to get his mom off his back and the Make It Marriage women out of his love life. But Kastle’s long, lingering gazes are a little too intense. His kisses are far too passionate. And the difference between what’s real and what’s pretend gets lost in my head. It’s a dangerous game. If l lose him, I lose everything. But I'm willing to take the risk. I’ve loved Kastle Jameson since I was a little girl. Should I take this chance and make him mine?
Be My Compass is a standalone AMBW friends-to-lovers, fake relationship romance featuring a broken billionaire hero and the strong, sassy black woman who owns his heart.

A "best friends to romance" story. Kastle and Kaelyn were do in sync. They both had their traumas and both were adopted. They could read each other without saying a word. I loved their friendship and I was rooting for them from the beginning.
I wasn’t feeling this story bc Kastle was too much under the thumb of his mother. Kae started to annoy me when she used Kas to get under his mother’s skin, but then she was upset with him when he got upset with her about. I hate people act like that. Instead of be humble and admit she was wrong and apologized she was indignant.
The mother of the child you had asa result of an affair dies, and instead of taking this child in you refuse bc it will mess up your brand and potential income. Kastle’s dad ain’t shit. I’m glad that bitch of a mother runs his raggedy life. Deadbeat
I hate mommas boys on this level. Kastle gotta get his balls back or his mom will swing him by them like she does his dad. “You’re not a person, you’re an asset.” Why hasn’t Kastle saved up money and told his mom to kick rocks? This bitch assness when it comes to his so called mother makes less attractive.
This book was a pretty good read. This is my first book by this author I find that her writing style was interesting but I don’t know if I’m really into her writing style. I do like the story between the main characters. I felt like I would’ve loved if this book was able to flush out more of the trauma of being adopted by people who are not part of your culture. Or being used to further your career. Also I would’ve loved if they would have included a therapist in there.
I thought this book had an interesting concept. The dealings of being a different race from the parents who are taking care of you. Or being adopted. Or being kidnapped , even growing up as a celebrity. A lot of it wasn’t fleshed out so it left you a bit confused and wanting more. Because the book doesn’t offer that information it leaves me wanting more but I am unfulfilled when I do not find out those information.
K&K are a very cute couple. I enjoy their best friend monologues and I enjoy that they love to spend time with each other. This is the first time I’m reading best friends to lovers and I don’t know if that is my favorite character arc. Other than that the book was really good almost a bit poetic how it is explained. I do wish that maybe there was more dialogue between characters of the books instead of it being a inner monologue‘s.
I would suggest you read this book it’s a quick read and you will fall in love with both the main characters and you will love to hate the villain the villain is very hateable
4.00 Stars. (BW/WM). Kindle Unlimited Edition e-book. The heroine,Kaelyn, is an American Black History enthusiast who along with her friend produces a Pod Cast on the subject. The hero, Kastle Jamerson, is the star of a reality TV show and CEO of his family's production company. Kastle and Kaelyn developed a close protective friendship since early childhood in part because of their similar situation...Kastle an Asian American was adopted by a white family, starred in the family reality show and was controlled by his adoptive mother by her ability to make him feel guilty and ungrateful whenever he disagreed with her or did went against her wishes. Kaelyn, a Black American, was also the adopted child of a white family; but unlike Kastle's situation, Kaelyn's adoptive parents were loving and supportive and tried to help Kaelyn overcome the fear and distrust resulting from her having been kidnapped and held hostage for ransom. Kastle and Kaelyn were each other's defenders to the determint of their own needs, after a big hurtful fight, they give in to their romantic and sexual desire for each other. The faked it til they made it.
These two were both raised by adopted parents. And ended up becoming best friends. While she was raised by such loving parents he on the other hand was raised by people who were manipulative and who even though they too had money thought things should always be their way of no way especially the mother. And when she didn't get her way she always threw it in his face how he was saved from a life of nothing and given everything and made to feel guilty about anything else he may have wanted to do without her knowledge or permission so to speak. But then there's his BFF his mom didn't really care for her but had to tolerate her. They I'm a way saved each other. Kae suffered some tragedy and Kastle was always there to make her whole. And she kept him grounded. Who wouldn't love a friend like that? And yet that's what they both were to each other even though they were too afraid the admitting it could ruin their relationship. And God forbid if his wicked mother ever found out! I really enjoyed this book looking forward to the next one! Thanks for sharing.
Nia Arthurs never disappoints. Honestly I usually find myself so annoyed with the main characters throughout most of her books. The journey however, when love helps strengthen them, and when reflections of that love help them to see their own beauty and worth, I am always glad I kept hope alive for them. Forgiveness, redemption, and excellence prevail in the end. With Double K (Kastle & Kaelyn) she takes two incredibly flawed people and even through their struggles proves to them that while they can hurt each other trying to find their safe harbor, that they are in fact only bent. They were never broken and when they open their hearts to love each other, together they are stronger than reinforced steel. The series just keeps getting better . Can't wait for Be My Reason.
Can you really pretend to like you best friend without falling in love? The both have suffered hard pasts but it only brought them closer. They know each other better than they know themselves. They are each others hero. I loved this book from the first page. It was clear how deeply they loved wach other but how hard they tried to keep the relationship platonic. But once the pretending started they were both all in without telling the other person.
The drama was intense but it was nice to see the other Make It Marriage couples lighten the mood at given times
I really enjoy this series. Each book is different but each has an alpha male and a smart woman. Some of the women are sassy, some are kind, stalwart, compassionate or a combination. I like that we get glimpses of the other Make It Marriage characters in each book.
This one was a friends to lovers story with each having a trauma to overcome. They even have cute names, Kastle and Kaelyn. They have each other's rock since childhood. Good story. Kastle's mother was wicked.
It’s long and twisted, but so worth the read. I devoured this book because I couldn’t wait until the best friends took the plunge that would change their friendship forever. But along the way, before that happens, you really learn so much about these two characters.
Kaelyn stole my heart from the beginning, it took me a bit to warm up to Kastle, but the more protective he became of Kaelyn, the more he endeared himself to me.
The only negative comment I have is that the epilogue is misplaced and should be a prologue.
Not my favorite writing style. Some lines are not full sentences, maybe one or two words. Had to use your imagination a lot, especially when it came to the sex scenes. Kastle and Kaelyn had been friends for ever. They both were adopted, whereas Kaelyn's parents loved her and smothered her. Kastle's mother only wanted to control him. Kastle's mother was always trying to introduce him to daughters of her friends but his heart belonged to Kae. This story has kidnapping, manipulation, jealousy, but love of two best friends win in the end.
I have read several of this author's books and I love them all; however, this was my favorite. They truly felt like best friends in every way... In intimately knowing each other (I don't mean sexual here), forgiving each other, and standing by one another while love remained unconditional even through disappointment and misunderstanding. The chemistry between the two was beautiful and powerful, and their love was poetic and eternal. I enjoyed their story.
It’s a good story I liked it. I wish it had lasted longer. I wish it had of delved into them. It was a bit rushed, and you could tell that it was rushed towards the end. It could’ve been so much more. I would love to read more stories about them more of the treacherous acts of Amelia more about the father instead of just the ending but I like that it was cool read it love it definitely one of the better aspects of an Asian guy and a black woman dating that I’ve read lately
Loved the book His Arthur's did not disappoint with this book I have read the other books in this series and have enjoyed them all I especially liked how you make your characters relatable and use real life situations that we all can relate to in our lives and show us how we can overcome Great work Now Appreciate your work and will continue to read your books Please do yourself a favor and start reading this she's work, you will not be disappointed
I have read several books in the series Make It Marriage Book. I thought Be My Bride was my favorite but Be My Compass is the BEST!!! I thought it would be my 3-day weekend read but it didn’t even last a day. I couldn’t put it down. I just really enjoyed the story and was mad when it was over. I wanted the story to continue..... now just waiting for the next one
As challenging as it may seem, a lasting relationship is based on friendship. You can't expect to last forever if you can't be transparent and open. Kastle and Kaelyn were blessed to have such a unique and beautiful relationship because of their friendship. There is nothing better than being in love with your best friend no matter if you start off that way or develop that relationship over time!
LOVED IT!! Read it in only a few hours. I love to get lost in all the Make It Marriage characters and storylines. Kastle and Kaelyn were no different. Their love for each other as friends was great to read and see play out on the page. Great read!
Kastle and Kaelyn’s best friends to lovers story was very touching. I wished I could have seen kastle take a stronger hand with Amelia but at least he did take control in the end. I have truly enjoyed this series and can hardly wait for the next Make it marriage book. I love This author’s writing.
I really enjoyed Be My Compass, just as the 8 books before this. I like the fact that Nia Arthurs gives you a romantic read with just enough spice but not too graphic. I really enjoy how characters from the previous books pop up in the various stories. Kastle & Kaelyn showed that through a solid friendship true love can develop & blossom.

KAE and KAS are like two of the most stubborn people ever but I literally could not put this book down. I read them all out of order but now I want to read about Brenna and Heath so I'm gonna do that next then go back to the others. I am such a fan of Nia now glad I found her.
We you think there's no other way a for a couple to get together you bring today two people that's knows each other all their lives one grew up in the spot light, and the other is haunted by a traumatic experience from her childhood. This childhood friends had been each other's anchor's for a long time and now questioning if they should blur the lines?
I enjoy reading this book, however I sometime became lost in the self-talking. I was unsure if the characters were speaking to someone or speaking out loud to them selves. I would have like for the lovemaking to be more detailed, intense and for Kastle and Kaelyn to speak out loud their feelings. I thought the storyline was new and different. Overall a good book.
This book was really good with I felt a slight departure from the usual Make It Marriage books. Firstly, it’s an AMBW romance which I really enjoyed. Second both lead characters were adopted which added emotional depth to their story and lastly this book had a lot of angst, more than the other books. All that said this book was wonderful albeit stressful at times but a beautiful love story.
I honestly loved the story, the angst, & everything else…. But the way it was written was 😮💨. Bravo 👏🏽 it drags you in and kinda put you in a trance dream state for a minute or two. That is skill. I love it. 🎂 And that the story was good was icing…read it. And let me know if you know what I mean.
This was an amazing story of friends who almost let fear stop their happiness. I loved the way they each taught their demons and overcame them to find a love that lasts forever.
This series is a great read with well developed characters that don't fall into stereotypes like the characters in bwwm books often do. There are some typos, and Heath states he is legally just Glory's uncle, but he is actually her brother as they share a father.
I really lived reading this book. My emotions were engaged so I really felt the love between those 2 people. The writing was great and the author obviously used and editor so THANK YOU! Definitely recommend and can't wait to read more in the series.
This was my first read by the author and will not be my last. I really liked her style of writing. Kastle (loved the name) and Kae were best friends with an unbreakable bond. The intensity and love between these two was undeniable. Their story is definitely one I’d recommend.
This was a good book with a entertaing storyline. Loved the chemistry between Castle and Kaelyn it was smoking hot! There was a lot of unneeded wording. It seem the thought process of the characters was long and drawn out. But otherwise it is a good book to read.
I know I'm out of order with this series but I must say I did enjoy the relationship with Kastle and Kaelyn. Bff to lovers stories are always interesting reads. Can't wait to read about the other couples in this series.
