This book is a collection of stories about cats.

The cats mentioned in this book are all living in an apartment complex. The stories of these cats are all beautifully linked together.

The author tells us how the cats defend their territories, their relationship with humans, and how they manage to find food.
“He liked the way his stepdad talked about the cats, different from how he usually was. The words he used were different too. More playful, with a rhythm to them. Like a kind of bible language for cats. It was as if there were a whole world of them out there, waiting to be discovered, named and understood.”

There are a lot of cats mentioned in this book, and all their names might confuse the readers until they get accustomed to them. This book will be a good choice for young readers who love to read about cats.

An audiobook narrated by Ryan Lim about cats in a neighbourhood. Can't say I fully enjoyed it (I only pulled through for the cats). Nonetheless, it was okay-ish. I loved the little cat meows in between the chapters :D

The community cat chronicles is a beautifully curated collection of short narrations focusing on the different cats living in the community. Eugene and his stepfather would feed and tend to them. Soon joined by Ayesha, a sweet girl who loved cats especially a white cat called snowtime. There are other feeders too. These short stories are diversified in events and situations. They have unique names which were one of my favourite things about this book.

If you are a cat enthusiast then this book will definitely be appreciated by you.

Well, this was a disappointment...

I thought I was picking up an uplifting and happy cat book but it was actually quite depressing..

There were some cute moments but overall this was quite underwhelming.

This book is more appropriate for children rather than a more mature audience. I had expected it to be funny, but it’s not. A pity.

The Community Cat Chronicles is a short book that tells the story of a group of cats living around the apartment blocks of a fictional Avenue 1. These cats mark and defend their territory, amidst human residents who feed them and keep them company.

Perhaps because I read it thinking it was a series of unrelated short stories, I was surprised at how the stories connected to form a whole story, and that the characters built upon one another as part of a wider narrative.

Although a little short and less memorable than another local cat book I read months ago titled From the Belly of the Cat, this is still a child-friendly book that I believe younger readers can read and enjoy!

The Community Cat Chronicles, written by Lachlan J. Madsen and Eleanor Nilsson, is a collection of linked short stories that depict the lives of cats living around the apartment blocks of Avenue 1.

Although the influx of the cats’ names might seem daunting initially, they become more familiar as the story progresses—just like how a cat needs time to warm up to us, humans.

These stories are heartwarming and pleasant. If you’re a cat lover, I think you’ll enjoy this book!

Once again, I wasn't very impressed by my free VIP selections I receive through my audiobooks app. The idea of an interconnected short stories about cats really appealed to me, but this collection felt a little flat. I feel like this collection would have worked better if Eugene had a character arc and came out of his shell from working with the cats. In turn, the individual cats could have their own arcs thanks to his help. All the stories felt too severed from each other to stand alone with their own sense of importance. I read it because I love cats, and would like to read more books about cats. Unfortunately, this is one that I won't be rereading.
