This is an enjoyable, over-the-top quick read. A complex combination of drama, emotion, humor and heat with a sprinkling of the supernatural. I loved the chemistry and intensity between Valerie and Vincent. A fun read that is a bit crazy and out there but in a good way. I'm electing to post a candid review.
"... I feel my world flip to black like I just lost myself, lost myself in him, lost myself to her"... " I'm lost in her and lost to her and lost in myself and lost to myself. My mind is splitting wide open like a treetrunk under a woodman's axe...".
I hope you're as confused now as I was reading this book...
What did I just read? I'm so confused and torn. The beginning was fabulous then the lightning bolts happened and everything was downhill from there... What kind of love scene was that? No build-up, it was so uncomfortable...
Her triangle?! TF?! NO! JUST NO. What really made this a 2.5 star was the comment about the "seed of sin" still being on the table when the child went to it. Yuck!
I received this book with the understanding that I could leave a voluntary and honest review.
In this book we meet Valerie & Vincent. When this book opens we find that Valerie goes home to celebrate the one time of year her family gets together. Some families get together for Thanksgiving and Christmas not this family though. So when she gets home she finds her aunt and uncle in the basement cooking this years brew. This is not meant to harm anyone but to ensure that everyone in their neighborhood has a good time. Her family though wants to know where her latest boyfriend is. When she tells them they broke up they tell her at some point she has to be brave enough to bring someone home. Vincent has spent his life being a destroyer. Now however he has to be a dad. He isn't sure how to change hats like that. To top it off his niece isn't like most children. He is determined though to be the best he can be for her. So when they go out tricker treating and see something strange coming from a chimney he just has to check it out. From the moment these two eyes meet they know their is something special between them. Will they get a HEA or will their destinies lie elsewhere?
This is an amazing story by this author. It does have its ups and downs I really want to tell you about. However I don't want to ruin the story for any other readers. I will say this book will have you hooked from the first word to the very end. I would highly recommend it to anyone and everyone.
One wild and crazy Halloween they will never forget
Home for Halloween is the sixth book in the Curvy for the Holidays series and is the story of Valerie and Vincent and his daughter Molly. This is a fast-paced, OTT, Halloween themed, soulmates, witches, monsters, destroyers and more novella. Valerie tries to be "normal" but it is a little hard with her family. When she returns home to visit her aunt and uncles for Halloween she meets Vincent. He has retired from being a Destroyer and moved next door with his six year old daughter Molly, who also happens to be a witch. I am just going to say that this story had me wondering what I was reading a few times. It is nicely written but there is a lot going on in the story as things get wild and out of control quickly this Halloween for both Valerie and Vincent.
I received a copy of this book and am leaving my honest review. My opinions are all my own.
4 stars I received a free copy of the steamy novella Home for Halloween (Curvy for the Holidays Book 6): Valerie and Vincent by Annabelle Winters and this review was given freely. The irony! A twisted story of good and evil, love, twins and the supernatural with a touch of humor and a mischievous but happy ending. Just after Valerie dumps her boyfriend ,so he does not learn about her unusual family, she returns home for her Aunt Stella and Uncle Raim's annual Halloween pranks only to meet her soulmate, the new neighbor and retired Destroyer of monsters and supernatural beings, Vincent and his six year old witch daughter Molly who moved into the neighborhood "to start a normal life". Unfortunately, nothing goes as planned. 18+ recommended. Contains some vivid violence and a touch of steam.

Valerie is home for Halloween and celebrating it with her family but its not just any type of family. She comes from a family of witches and other mystical beings. Vincent is new to town raising his daughter when they go out for trick or treat and end up at Valerie's family place. Turns out that Vincent is a mystical being himself and wonders what is going on around them. A spell her aunt does every Halloween goes wild and its takes a bad twist. Will they survive the Halloween night? Are Vincent and Valerie going to end up together?
This is a great holiday story that will captivate you from beginning to end. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.

Valerie goes home to see her aunt who’s a witch and her uncle who’s a ogre and has so many other monsters in his bloodline but Valerie doesn’t know what she is, Valerie is home for her favourite time of year Halloween she’s dumped her boyfriends just before Halloween because she didn’t want to tell them her secret plus they wouldn’t believe her anyway. Vincent is a single dad to 6 year old Molly they have moved to a new town to start fresh because Vincent used to be a destroyer now he has given up that life for his daughter but something always pulls him back to the paranormal. Wow what an amazing story there is so much more going on but that’s all I’m going to give I loved the characters and I definitely recommend this book.
This is the 6th story in the Curvy for the Holidays Series and in this over the top love story we get to read about Vincent and Valerie’s Halloween adventure to finding love and family! When Valerie goes home to her aunts and uncles for Halloween things don’t go as normally planned and trick and treating becomes so over the top that they learn many things about themselves and each other. There is mischievous, supernaturals, twins, loss, a precious little witch and their way to living when their lives are all turned upside down. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. Halloween is not my favorite holiday. Mainly because I've found that unless I'm strict on the spending, it could rival Christmas. However, Ms Winters spin on this not quite a holiday has led to some fun and interesting reading. I enjoy the views/lessons about love and self and family that Ms Winters works into her stories. In this tale both Val and Vince are at aplace where they are looking for home. Will they find it together? I enjoyed the working of the Gemini myths into this story. The twists are unexpectedly delightful. Try out this spin on Halloween. You will enjoy this magical twist.
This is the weirdest story that I've read of Annabelle Winters. Halloween gone wrong, Vincent a destroyer, Molly an Earth Witch and have no idea what Valerie is, maybe just a human. The tricks that are suppose to be harmless but somehow get out of hand on that Halloween. An instant love between two people who love Halloween and a little Molly witch that feels as if she belongs to Valerie. Twins that inhabit Vin and Val's body to feel what love is like. There are zombies, ghosts, goblins and ghouls, mischief and the supernatural. There is love and steam. There is family. This is part of a series. This one is where Valerie goes home for Halloween where you can become real witches and the like. Val just broke up with her boyfriend to keep her family from him. Then enter Vincent and his daughter Molly. There are things that are not what they seem. There are plot twists and secrets and paranormal activity to keep you totally engaged. I loved the characters, I love the plot. I really enjoyed this story being a Halloween Lover, this was the cherry on top. Great book well worth readying.

Home for Halloween is book six in the series Curvy for the Holidays by author Annabelle Winters. Ok so most of Annabelle’s book are a bit out there and yet we still love her work. This one is a bit more dark and a bit more out there- like maybe twilight zone out there. But again to each it’s own. If you love Annabelle then this will definitely be a must read. If you’re new to her world - then I suggest you put on your big girl panties and just relax it only get better. Enjoy!!

I received an ARC from the author thru Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving my review. This is a twilight zone type of insta love story. It has twists and turns, supernaturals, drama and a lot of strangeness. I had some trouble connecting with the characters. I enjoy the stories Annabelle writes, this one just was not my type. I will definitely keep checking out her books though because she is a good author

This Halloween story was creepy and sweet. Creepy paranormal elements throughout...witches, monsters, zombies...Vincent was a Destroyer of those creepies...now he's retired. Valerie is not a witch but she know of the paranormal around her. These two meet under weird circumstances. The twin storyline was kind of confusing along with Vincent's daughter Molly existence. No clear understanding what happened to Valerie's aunt and uncle. Weird stuff but the romance was good.

In this story we get to know Vincent and his daughter Molly and Valerie. These strangers are put together by Halloween and things quickly get out of hand. It's great Happy Halloween book, it was a bit creepy at times and can be a bit confusing at times but she brings us a great book. The storyline was good and well described, but ok the characters were very good

This is one of the weirdest, interesting books that I have read by this author. Valerie returns home to her aunt and uncle's house for Halloween. The pranks they pull are supposed to be harmless. However, new neighbors Vincent, former monster destroyer and his daughter, Molly, a witch are new to the neighborhood. Valerie and Vincent don't intend on meeting their soulmate but they do and it ends up being an interesting night.

After breaking up with her boyfriend Valerie heads to her Uncle and Aunts home for their annual Halloween party where things are taken to a whole new ott level. Vincent is a retired destroyer of supernatural beings. This is not the normal Annabelle Winters book I mean it's still ott and filled with crazy fun characters but this story has a paranormal twist. I loved Valerie and Vincent together and their quirkiness. This is a great addition to the Curvy For The Holidays series. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.
This interesting book 6 in the Curvy for the Holidays Series is a well-written, instalove book with great characters who are unique. These well-crafted characters have an instant connection and have wonderful personalities. This holiday love story features an Alpha CEO and a curvy woman with a Halloween, supernatural theme with a HEA. I loved this must read story.

A wild broom ride! It’s either takes you on one of the wildest Halloween night stories I’ve read in a while. Considering I don’t read them a lot this was entertaining. There’s a lot of twists and whimsical and haunting things that occur. It was worth the time to read and raise and eyebrow that some of the events that occur. No cliffhanger.

This book is definitely a wonderful short paranormal adventure. From the very beginning you are steeped into just how much one person can really feel like they’re looking for home.
I am truly enjoying this series.

Short and cute Halloween story. Good if you want a quick read. I thought the story was cute but gave it three stars because it didn’t really have any build up. It seemed for things to happen one right after another. I personally didn’t really feel a flow to the events. There were interesting concepts to it including the Gemini horoscope and or legends the author came up with and how she incorporated it into the main characters lives.

This whole book to me is just confusing. Things are explained but not explained. For instance Gemini twins and babies from them in like another realm. A special brew chaos. If you like different give the book a read.

This time, the author has given us a story that is so bizarre that you cannot put it down. We are introduced to Valerie, Vincent and his daughter, Molly. Halloween draws these strange people together but things get out of hand, rather quickly.

This was a fun and unique story that really took me on a reading adventure. Fated mates, over the top insta-love and family are the big themes in this entertaining story that follow along on a Halloween night filled with pranks, zombies, Gemini twins and magic. Expect a wild ride when you crack this baby open ;)
Compelling, entertaining, captivating, and interesting! The story line is well written, well-developed, emotionally deep, funny, and consistent with drama, steam, off the charts chemistry, amazing characters, supernatural beings and happenings, and a whole lot more. Definitely recommended!
