Eden has more questions than answers, especially as it falls apart around us.

My New Survival Plan:
1. Unleash my demigods’ powers
2. Figure out this friends to lovers… thing with Wade
3. Break out of prison

Easier said than done, especially since fate and Lumen have other plans for me.

Now I find myself in the middle of a battle I didn’t ask for, with an ally I didn’t expect. Will I be able to help the guys in time, or will Eden break us apart?

The Forgotten Prison series is a WhyChoose mmfmmmm romance, meaning the female main character doesn't have to choose between her men. Broken contains violence, attempted assault, and other situations that others might find triggering.

At the end of this first volume, my fear was that this series would lack depth. This was confirmed when I read the second volume.

Unfortunately, the romance takes precedence over the action and moves much too fast for my taste. I would have liked it to take time and keep the action at the center of the story. Too bad ...

In conclusion, I do not recommend this series which unfortunately did not fascinate me.

Broken by Suki Williams
I Give this Book a 3.5/5 Star Rating, Listing as 3.
HEA(?): Not Yet
Cliffhanger(?): Yes, After Learning who Aki, Emrys, Ren & Merrick are, and what happened with Mila and whoever those guys are, I am VERY fascinated to see what will happen in the next book!
Relationship Type: MFMMMMM
M/M(?): Hinted interest but nothing yet.
Heat: Overall 3.5/5
Romance: 3-3.5/5
I feel like the storyline focuses is definitely mission focused in this one, there’s a little bit of heat and then comes somewhat relationship building/focus.
This i’m thinking is a slow burn(?), I’m not entirely sure.
It does feel like all the characters still feel a little like strangers to me as the reader in a way, they feel distant (I don’t know how to describe it other than that).

I’m hoping what I’m feeling is right, in the sense that the next book is going to be a really important one and everything will get a bit more of a even & better focus.
The book series has to create a good solid foundation to create a good story, I believe this book is a foundation point to get to the really attention grasping bits that will hopefully happen in the next book.
Drama: 3.5-4/5
Suspense: 3.5-4/5
Dark(?): No.

I feel like some of the arguments or conversations in the book did feel like they came out of nowhere at times. It did make me lose my connection while reading cause I had to back track to see if I missed something.
I was having trouble figuring out the main characters near the beginning in this one, having to jump back into this world. I do wish there was a small character list before you read to help remind the reader.
I also had issues with ‘variations of names(?),’ Like - Sonny who is Wade & Ren who is Soren.

--- MAJOR SPOILERS, SERIOUSLY---
I was pretty intrigued after the first book and was excited to start the next one. However, it starts off with a jump in time and it seems like 1) we missed quite a bit and made me feel like I missed some important stuff (like Mila and Aki secretly hooking up and the feelings around that - but is pretty much treated as a quick afterthought), 2) some important details are dropped like they had been previously mentioned (like the name of the godly realm), and 3) you're telling me you've been down there a while and still haven't asked the basic questions? OK then. I'll keep going. Then we meet Han (aka Blacke) and she pretty much immediately "bonds" with him because it was such a strong pull. Why do I feel like all of a sudden "bonding" is such a big deal? I mean, she feels pulled to these guys because she's somehow connected to Gwen but when did it become bonding? It's been months and she hasn't been with everyone else and has not felt NEAR the same (and they're supposed to be the focus?) but couldn't help herself after minutes of meeting Han? And some of the drama with Wade? Ugh. By the end I didn't even quite feel the same friendship that we did in the beginning. Everything just felt so chaotic and rushed - plot and relationship wise. There were declarations of love all around and I didn't really feel that build between anyone. And we went from demigods to hard-core on the four horsemen of the apocalypse in a couple chapters?? What?! I did think the cliffy at the end was interesting, but I don't think I can continue the series. It's got good bones but it didn't feel cohesive or built up convincingly. You may feel differently, so I'd give it a try if the premise is interesting to you.

This is one of my favorite series I absolutely love these characters . Especially badass Mila she’s such an awesome person . Making all kinds of awesome things . Like rebuilding an eye for wade . Trying to fix her new prison home for everyone. But I got to say that ending killed me you assholes 🤷🏽‍♀️😭😭😭😭😭 . I can’t wait for book 3

Broken is such an appropriate title for this second addition to the Forgotten Prison series. I interpreted this in two different ways while I was reading. Broken could mean beaten down, being a shadow of the person that you once were or you could see it as meaning that the pieces of the puzzle had been tossed and the characters are scrambling to make everything come together once more, trying to make the puzzle whole again. Either way you take it, you see so much progress in this book with the characters. Not only are the demigods learning to grow and adjust to the grief that they have been suffering from for centuries, but they are also discovering that they are not the same people that they once were. They've changed over the years and although they may have been stuck on the relationship and connection they had with Gwen before she died, they realize that what they need now, what they find with Mila, is something different than what they needed before and much more powerful of a connection. With this revelation, it was great to see the differences in the characters as we see flashbacks or as they told stories about their pasts and compared themselves to how they were before when their powers consumed them. The pieces of the backstory as well as the connections and powers are all coming together too, creating a stronger bond between Mila and her groups of guys and revealing some of the stuff that has been going on behind our characters' backs. Is this forgotten prison as forgotten as we previously thought or were the jailers just biding their time until something or someone came along? When reading the first book I was under the assumption that the jailers were the humans, but I think the gods have more of a hand in everything than we previously thought. I think this time, with Mila being the selfless person that she is, they will be able to do whatever they planned the first time around. It all seems connected, so they must have had a plan. I'm excited to find out all of the details of what is really going on in the next book!

I really liked book one. It helped draw me into the story. Book two however….it through me in the deep end and kept me there! And that cliffhanger! Because of course it has a cliffhanger! I kept tapping my kindle expecting and hoping there was just one more chapter…one more page…. even another paragraph! But nope…we are brought to the cliff and just left dangling over it. We finally get to meet who is on the other end of the secret comm messages that Mila got….and did not see that coming at all! I feel like everyone grew in this book. Not just Mila, but all the guys too. There is still drama amongst them. But when you have four demigods and a dominant best friend that wants to be more there is bound to be personality clashes. But not only did the characters grow themselves in this book, but they grew as a whole group too. And that was the best part for me. To see them go from two separate groups to one big group. There will also be drama and frustrations, but to see them work through it and learn what the others need is amazing! There are some steamy times, and boy where they steamy, but this series is shaping up to be more in depth than I was originally expecting. The emotions that were brought forth in my while reading this were deep and varied. I felt the pain when we saw the Titans (not the Titan gods by the way). The devastation at the thought of what happened to them. And of course, that gut wrenching cliffhanger! Needless to say, I am eager for the next book and impatiently waiting to see what happens next!

This first 2 books of this series has exceeded my expectations. Ill be honest. I dont normally read this type of genre even though its RH. Im not a big fan of demigods..lBut i love Jarica James and I love ARCs so I wanted to read this and I was seriously surprised how much I loved it. This is the 2nd book.. This series is set way in the future and the devastation of Earth as we know it. The oceans are devastated as is most of the world. Only super wealthy people are able to live a good live, Everyone else lives under the thumb of them in poverty.. This 2nd book is set in an underwater city/prison where Mila somehow is sent to as a punishment and she is supposed to guard 4 dangerous prisoners. The minute she sets foot under the sea, she starts a journey unlike any you have seen. This story is amazing because i dont remember ever reading one like it. i love this 2nd book because we finally get to see her interact with her harem. And what a harem it is..So not to spoil but the reason she is there is to complete tasks to help the "prisoners" and this book is their journey. It has some amazing twists and turns and alot of amazing times between all of the characters. I laughed out loud alot and I loved that..That ending will kill get you though. It does end on a cliffhanger and there are some triggers but its a epic ride. So good Jarica and Suki.. I need the next one STAT!!!

Wow....just wow!!!!! You had to do me like that with the cliffhanger!!!!

So this is the second book of the Forgotten Prison series written by Suki Williams & Jarica James. This reverse harem continues the steampunk atmosphere, but this book seems to focus more on moving the story forward than sexy situations. The plot line builds more on what Mila has to do to save Eden and help the men regain their powers. I will admit, I was hoping to see more relationship development between Mila, Aki, Soren, Merrick and Emerys. Instead, we got that with Wade and (don't want to give spoilers) someone else!!!!

To me, this book didn't grab me as much as the first book, Nexus, until the very end with that cliffhanger! That more than anything is actually what made this book for me. Up until then I was enjoying the read, but wasn't as gripped by it as I normally am with either of these two authors. Then BAM!!!!! They smack you upside the head for thinking that with the books end. Ugh.....now I have to wait for book three. But eagerly await it I shall!!!!!

Where do I even start? Book 1 had me entranced... Book 2 has me OBSESSED with this storyline and the characters! THE CHARACTERS! ugh. I want to reach out and love on them all! The growth in all of them is so beautiful to see. I think the biggest thing that really stuck out to me in this book is how the guys are dealing with the aftermath of a grief, a pain, a heartbreak of someone that they all loved. Mila gets to watch them deal with this pain and while it hurts her to see how much the mean all loved Gwen... She is watching each man rise from the ashes so to speak. Another thing that left an impression on me is the friendship between her and Wade. That is clear first and foremost and it shows us that friendship is real and has its... kinks (pun intended). The cliffhanger about did me in! Excite to see what is in store for book 3! Broken (Forgotten Prison Book 2)

“Broken is the second book in the “Forgotten Prison” series and I absolutely loved it just as much as the first book. The great world building of a paranormal dystopian world, the fascinating storyline, the suspense, the spice, … It creates a captivating series!

Besides all that, this book is filled with great characters. Mila is a wonderful fmc; I’m fascinated by her analytical mind and the way she manages to fix everything breaking down around them while the men have no clue. Wade just keeps on stealing parts of my heart the longer I know him and the way he shakes up the lives of these Demi-Gods who have been stuck in a prison for too long is awesome to watch.

Also: this book knows a lot of twists and turns, with one being a real “what the …!” Moment for me. After that ending I can’t wait to dive into book three!

I loved this second installment to the series. More pieces to the puzzle continue to be revealed and greater bonds are forged as the action develops. There is definitely more at play than even our characters seem to realize, but I for one am here for it. Watching Mila interact with the men and seeing how they start to grow and change after living in a period of stagnant latency is intriguing. Seeing how Wade interacts with the guys and finds his place in the group as a member of the team and watching as the romantic interest increases with Ren also holds the reader captive. He's a wildcard they also didn't foresee. These 4/5 men may think they know a lot based on their previous history, but they don't know it all. I think Mila and Wade are ready to be our game changers.

First off I love the cover of this book and secondly it is aptly named as well. I have been waiting for this book to come out. It is one of my favorites for the year. So as you know Mila and Wade are in Eden with Merrick, Emrys, Ren, and Aki. We learn more about the guys. Mila also gets more images of Gwen and the guys. This helps them on their mission. Eden is also collapsing and now they are trying to figure out how to get out. Remember Blacke, he is back and makes an entrance into Eden. oh boy was that a hot entrance too. We finally get to some issues and address some feelings. Unfortunately we are still left with some questions. That ending killed me and I do not know what is going to happen now. I cannot wait for the next book to get here. It should be epic.

Keep it coming

This is book two in the series and eden is falling apart. Which is not a good thing when you are located in the middle of the ocean. Mila has to try to keep the place running, while building relationships, dodging people who want her dead, finding how to release the guys powers. To say she has her hands full is an understatement.

We get alot of story progression as we slowly get to find out more about each guy as the grieve the loss of Gwen. Each guy is broken (which goes perfectly with the title) but the connection between them and mila is something that they can't and don't want to deny.

Mila and the guys will need all the help they can get because someone is coming for Mila

I'm still processing. I freaking love this series. Mila has to be one of my favorite, snarky characters to read. The story continues to get more intricate as Mila, Wade, and the demigods struggle to keep Eden functioning while also searching for the boxes to restore power to the demigods. There are so many threads to follow and twists I wasn't expecting. All of the relationships are developing beautifully with some seriously hot steamy bits. The whole story kept me so invested that I refused to do anything but read nonstop! That. Cliffhanger. Was intense! I need the next book. Like right now!

Holy shit! So much freakin happened!
I loved that we learned much more about the guys, their powers, and their pasts. I hope we learn more about whatever happened between Aki and Han cause that’s just some massive tension I need answers about.
I’m curious who’s pulling the strings in the Apostates...I’m thinking it’s Krandle, but won’t know for sure until the next release!
So many mysteries still and I can’t wait to know the answers!

Also that ending nearly killed me! I cannot believe what happened! I fucking bawled!

I was a bit hesitant about the series, there's a lot going on between world building, character and backstory development... That being said, it's a great book with a slow burn romance that leaves you wondering what'll happen next! I can't decide which if Wade or Goth Snack is my fav... but in reality, I'm not sure if I could chose one from the other since each character is so unique. Yet, those two are just hilarious with how they interact or don't with each other. I really wish there was a release date already for the next book, I really hate waiting! LOL

Gutted

As I was sitting at about the 85% mark I realized there is no way these authors wrap this up with this last 15%, and let me tell you, that last 15% was brutal but we are left with some hope and all things considered, I would rather sit for a while on this cliff and see these ladies further develop what has been steadily unveiling as a GREAT story, than to see a rushed conclusion. Book two is fantastic. My gut reaction, having just finished it, is it's even better than book one. I guess I'm going to have to start stalking these ladies now as I eagerly await book three.

What. Just. Happened?!?

I..I...I'm not even sure where to begin. I just finished and am left heartbroken and angry. Mila is back sassy as ever and claiming her demigods plus Wade. They're all finally starting to mesh when things (surprise!) go awry and some truths come out. Turns out there's another demigod out there also fated for Mila. So many questions still but that ending...I never saw it coming. The next book cannot get here fast enough!

Sorry not sorry for that Frozen reference.

But seriously I just dove off that whopper of a cliffhanger and am still in free fall. I am bummed the next book isn’t out to immediately preorder bc I would one click that sum beach.

Great book/series. Mila, the DGs and Wade grew up and on each other in this book. Totally cannot wait to find out what happens with Mila and crew next!

I so wanted to love this series! It just missed the mark for me. Much like the first one I just felt the story was disjointed and rushed in some places. The characters needed more depth and the relationships could use more development, even with it being a connection/bond type of reverse harem opposed to a contemporary one. I love the story concept which is why I'm determined to finish the series and I hope as I read the next 2 books the things that are lacking for me improve.

I'm always a little amazed with books that are co-written and I've read some that seemed disjointed but Jarica and Suki do an amazing job of streamlining their work so you can't tell who wrote what. This book was great. The story builds well and then jumps right off into the perfect cliffhanger making me want more and more.
