James: Alpha Mavericks Brigade Book 5
An Insta-love Alpha Military Man and Curvy Younger Woman Romance
James
A lot of the guys from my old Company have found girlfriends since our return to the civil world, but I’m not one of them.
I have no intention of joining that herd, either. I have always enjoyed my single life and I’m not complaining. Even though I can see how happy Tristan and Emily are together, I know that life is not for me. I wouldn’t know the first thing about commitment.
This big fluffy mountain dog headed in my direction. He is bounding towards me...
The woman who was chasing him comes up to us now
When she finally looks up and our eyes meet, I know I have to have her.
She is the most beautiful woman I’ve ever seen.
Bess
Am I dreaming? Because it sure feels like I am.
Who is this handsome hunk crouching down in front of me? Not only is he absolutely drop-dead gorgeous, but he also managed to stop Doughnut from slipping away. When he finally starts standing up again, my stomach does a complete flip.
I’m afraid I won’t be able to say a word to him. It’s like he has just walked out of my dreams. A model of my perfect man.
“This is James. We were in high school together. He disappeared for a while when he joined the Marines. Now he’s back,” Ralph explains.
Oh. That James.
This is a Steamy, Sweet, Short Story Romance. No Cliffhangers. This is the 5th and Final story in the Alpha Mavericks Brigade Series. If you love short romances with insta love, hot love scenes, and a sweet story, then this one is for you.

Bess works at an animal shelter and a dog she has out running literally runs into James. James is a muscular, charming, and confident ex Marine who recently returned to town and he is instantly attracted to Bess. When he goes to a friend’s party he realizes Bess is his friend’s sister and she won’t get involved with any of her brother’s friends because he would be upset. Will Bess and James earn her brother’s approval and begin a relationship?
I enjoyed this short instalove story about two people coming together and trying to win her brother’s approval. The epilogue was especially enjoyable because you also got to see the other couples from this series.
I received an ARC from the author and I am voluntarily leaving this review.

There is no such thing as love-at-first-sight, but that is how this feels. Could I be wrong? Boy, is this a small world. How can it be possible that our lives are so connected?
Bess and her best friend run the local animal shelter. She has taken a new dog to the park, to run. That's when she sees him, he is absolutely drop-dead gorgeous. There will be other men—I repeat to myself. But I want this one...
James is running in the park when he notices a woman running after her dog. He gets down on one knee and calls for her dog. When she looks at him, she is the most beautiful woman I’ve ever seen. I know there will be other girls, but nobody like her.

I am leaving an honest review in exchange for this arc. Putting my hands up as I am a Kayla Kelly’s book virgin. I must say I am thoroughly impressed with the style of writing and the story. Men do love a curvy girl thank goodness. Lol. Love the instant connection and attraction. I can honestly say I am becoming a Kayla fan. Look forward to reading more from this author. Thank you for the arc. Must read.
