Caroline's son was abducted, later found dead. The police had no leads, but a psychic, Tony Delimonte led them to the boy's body. Tony was the prime suspect until proved innocent.

Rebecca's son, Evan, has disappeared. So far, police have found nothing of substance. Caroline reaches out to Rebecca, because she was once in the same position. But Tony, who's stayed close to Caroline reveals that Evan is still alive. He hesitates going to the police ..he's afraid they will suspect him again.

Caroline and Rebecca finally meet; Rebecca is told about Tony, and she agrees to let him help, as long as the police are not involved.

As time ticks by, connections and revelations are made and another question on everyone’s minds is – are these mothers to blame? Is Evan still alive? Will Tony be able to find the boy before, he too, is killed?

This debut novel is well-written; suspense starts on the very first page and maintains it's fast pace until the very end. The characters are finely drawn, fleshed out, and there are plenty of suspects to follow. The ending was quite unexpected.

Many thanks to the author for the digital copy of this psychological thriller. Read and reviewed voluntarily, opinions expressed here are unbiased and entirely my own.

Fantastic debut novel!

I thoroughly enjoyed this brilliant psychological thriller, with its twists and turns, keeping me guessing right to the very end. Great storyline and I like the way chapters show us events through individual characters' perspective. I recommend this book to anyone who likes a good twisty thriller and look forward to more from K. T. Marshall.

Really struggled with this book, think it’s because I live in fife and the fact that some of the places were real and others weren’t it just didn’t do it for me

Yesterday I finished this psychological thriller about two devoting and struggling mothers. One missing boy. One dead body. And an absorbing and intriguing mystery!
These are my thoughts.

OVERVIEW
I enjoyed this book pretty much!
It is a well written gripping psychological thriller from the beginning until the very last word. I read almost 30% of the book in one sitting! The themes around family, despair, grief and anguish are fairly well shaped and explored throughout the story. Characters are well written in a way that makes you wanting to find more about them. Overall, definitely a great experience with this story!

LOWS
I am not sure whether this was a specific problem with the book or just a personal thing but... I struggled to o connect with the main characters (Caroline and Rebecca). I would go a bit further and say I didn’t really care about them... found other characters way more interesting. Maybe more background development around these 2 characters would have helped? Maybe, not sure.

HIGHS
The plot is just fantastic! I cannot say the key aspect I really liked in the plot without giving spoilers so I will just say that I am glad things turned out the way they did. The flow of the book is fast paced, a real page turner! Lastly, if I didn’t give a damn about the main characters, I truly enjoyed getting to know more about the background (e.g childhood) of some other characters. Helped me to connect with them and develop some sympathy and understanding.

OVERALL
A solid ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️

A Mother's Mistake by K.T.Marshall
This gripping psychological thriller had me hooked from beginning to end. I literally could not put this book down as it was a real page turner. When fifteen year old Evan goes missing his mother Rebecca joins forces with Caroline who’s thirteen year old son Jase went missing exactly a year ago. Sadly Jace’s remains had been found buried in a field and the police fear that history is repeating itself. Caroline however believes that Evan is still alive and that she can help find him. Caroline and Rebecca ask psychic, Tony Delimonte for his help as they are both prepared to do whatever it takes to find Evan alive and prevent another horrific murder. This includes Caroline coming face to face with her sons murderer and for Rebecca she has to revisit her drug fuelled past. However as time goes by and following revelations and connections between Jase’s murder and Evan’s disappearance suddenly the police start asking if these mothers are actually to blame.
No Spoilers, as I definitely recommend you read this novel. I was hooked from the very first page and the storyline flowed well due to the wonderfully written narrative. The characters were all very realistic and relatable if not always likeable. The plot was action packed and had so many twists in it that it kept me guessing until the end. I was totally immersed in this novel and the storyline and the characters stayed with me long after I had read the last page.

A Mother's Mistake is the debut novel by Scottish writer K.T.Marshall and she's started off really well, tackling a subject which must be any parents worst nightmare.
We meet two mothers, the only thing they have in common is teenage sons, one, Caroline, has lost her's to a vicious murder and the other, Rebecca's, has gone missing.
Caroline is driven by the thought that Evan is still alive and she's the only one who can find him before he's killed like her son Jase.
Marshall delves through the pasts of her characters, examining their feelings of responsibility and guilt. Her characters are vulnerable, open and totally believable, my heart aching for their loss and hopeful for Evan's safe return.
They say we all have a book in us waiting to get out, well I hope Marshall has a few more because this was well worth reading and I'm looking forward to reading more from her.

Loved this book. Very well written and there were twists and turns that definitely fooled me. This book really keeps you guessing until the end. Never sure who to trust and who not to. I got it wrong more than once.

Rebecca’s son has gone missing and there are similarities to the murder of Caroline’s son a year earlier. After Tony Delimonte, a psychic, helped find Caroline’s sons remains they became friends and she introduces him to Rebecca. However the police are not convinced that Tony is able to help.
Is this connected to Caroline’s criminal husband who committed suicide? Or to Rebecca’s past? Is Caroline’s sons killer involved?

Worth a read and a 5* read for me.

This is one intense, twisted, addictive, complex, jaw-dropping novel! The aura of suspense increasingly bumped up my anxiety, notch by excruciatingly-taut notch. The palpable tension held me in thrall. The twists made me audibly gasp in shock. And, the fast pace of the wildly-captivating plot kept me swiping the pages feverishly. The characters were so realistic, showcasing the strengths and weaknesses present in us all. I did not want to put this novel down!

*I received a complimentary ARC of this book in order to read and provide a voluntary, unbiased and honest review, should I choose to do so.

Wow! Just wow!
An amazingly gripping story from the very beginning we are thrown into a world of grief anguish and desperation as one mother fights to find her kidnapped son. She find support in the form of the mother who’s son was kidnapped and killed the year before.
The characters are all brilliantly written and each one seems to be hiding something but when you’re racing to find a missing boy against the clock in a world of deceit who can you trust?
I would definitely recommend this book to psychological thriller lovers I could not put it down and now need to go check in on my sleeping child just to see her face! Amazing.

Ms. Marshall managed to convince my heart to feel so many different emotions at different points in the story about Caroline and Rebecca depending on what little tidbits of information she would give with regards to the main events of the kidnapping of Rebecca's son and the murder of Caroline's son. There were some twists and turns throughout the book and I was excited that I was able to figure out the twist ending before it was fully revealed. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book thanks to The Book Club Reviewer Group on Facebook, the author, and the publisher

One boy is dead, and another is missing.
Caroline's son Jase's remains were found buried in a field, exactly one year later, Rebecca's son Evan goes missing. With the help of psychic Tony Delmonte, the two mothers join together to try and stop a further death.
I thoroughly enjoyed and highly recommend this book, with its many twists and turns—a skillfully written debut thriller which will keep you guessing until the very end.

This novel is a complex thriller set around the disappearance of a young teenager in a small town. The mother of a young teenage boy who disappeared and was found dead a few years ago in the same town is drawn to the case and feels she can help.
The story follows both mothers as they learn more about the new disappearance and the intertwining of the two cases.
This novel is well written and you really feel for the 2 mothers and crave a happy ending. I really enjoyed reading this novel.

Enjoyable read

This book was recommended to myself from a friend and it’s the first book written by his sister. The set up of the chapters were unique, as the story was told through the main characters which was good. Few twists that I didn’t see coming until the end of the book.

Great story. Quite disturbing story line but really interesting how the plot evolved. Couldn’t wait to get to the end to find out the reasons why. Good plot twists which I didn’t see coming but made a lot of sense when they did. Look forward to reading more from this writer.
